Official Wine & Dine 2014

Resort question! If staying at an Epcot resort like BW or BC can you walk back after the party?

I think I'm in for the Wine and Dine. Pending it doesn't sell out! I will be looking to earn my C2C as well, Tinkerbell in January was an amazing race, and heck who doesn't like food and wine. Wine and Dine has been on my bucket list since the first one - again, fingers crossed it doesn't sell out too fast. I think I could throw in the 5k too. After seeing the 5K medals at Tinkerbell, I can not go all the way to Florida without taking one of those babies home with me!

Just registered for the Lululemon half August 23 here in Vancouver, and it sold out in 45 minutes. Next race up for me isn't for a while - Vancouver Sun Run - it's more of a walking run, but I'm going to train to try and improve my time.

Looking forward to actually visiting Disney on this trip as I usually cruise and bypass WDW when I am in Florida. I will finally get to see why all my Floridian friends prefer WDW over DL. :)

Looking forward to the inspiration and ideas here!

I'm up early to run my first 5k. My goal is to be as close to 45 minutes as possible. I'd appreciate some pixie dust in my direction!
Hope it went great! After doing that two days in a row, I had a rest and stretch day today.

You will go crazy over WDW!

I hope so! I may end up going solo - so it might be a bit weird. Boyfriend is not a Disney lover like me. Strange - but the Food and Wine festival might work at enticing him!

Thanks so much for the pixie dust, guys! I managed to finish with an official time of 43:50, which would definitely be better than I thought I'd do. I placed 252nd out of 260, which makes it a little less exciting, but oh well!

Also: I love flat ground! (My neighborhood route is *hilly*.)

Oh, wait! I apparently placed better than I thought I did. I found the official race results, and I was actually 251/294. Still not great, but it definitely makes me feel better. I guess the list they had posted after the hot chocolate and churros wasn't complete.

I think that's great! Does not matter how fast, but just that you did it! Good job!

Congrats! Don't worry about the time. You still lapped everyone on the couch.

I'll be running it! I had always planned on doing W & D as my first 1/2, but I got antsy and did Tink last month. :thumbsup2 So, as soon as we can register, I'll be at the computer! I'm nervous about the start time (which is my bed time) and not digging wasting probably 2 days, but... whatever.

Any suggestions on good blog recaps of past W & D's?

Good Morning from snowy NY. I was just wondering if you had any advice on nutrition for training, especially with longer runs. Any advice or books/websites that you have found helpful would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

everything i learned about running, nutrition and such i learned from here:
http://www.runnersworld.com/

it's a huge wealth of information, just poke around. :) also, the best advice i've learned for nutrition was to test out products on your training runs, find what works and use that. everyone is different. :) most people use gu or clif bloks/shots every 45 minutes or 3 miles to help you keep going.. if you find yourself feeling dizzy or nauseous, you'll need to look at your electrolyte/salt levels and drink gatorade in addition to water (water alone can't help you all the way through). salt tablets also help if your sweat is extra salty.. look into chia seeds for water retention. :) good luck!

Have any of you booked hotels yet? I booked Beach Club for Nov 7 - 10. Debating if I should add another date before to make time for the expo. We also have a cruise booked after!
