Official Wii/DS Q/A thread. FAQ in first post! Game reviews in second post!

yes i have added everybody the very first day, was waiting for people to be online..lol...let me know...

So we have to be on at the same time just to get to be friends? That's stupid.

I'll pm you this weekend. Any particular time good for you? Tonight is bad cuz its our 10th dating anniversary, so we're going out.

Oh and thanks for the updates DH. :teeth:

I think Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys sounds very intriguing!! lol

They moved Super Smash Bros Brawl to March 9th?!? I'll have to read about it but do you know if you need the nunchuk for this? We may need to buy extra to go with the extra wiimote we got at Christmas and then if we all want to play at the same time we'll need another. Hmm, is it 4 player max? Guess I'll go check ign after this post.

harleyquinn and Horned King - congrats on your dating anniv. Enjoy.

Oh almost forgot, isn't there suppose to be another Indiana Jones game? We got some magazine and it was talking about another game too, is it also Lego?

And Lego Batman, how many Lego games can they offer that can all be unique?

Also before I found Lego Star Wars complete saga for the Wii I picked up the version for the DS. I did not give that to my kids yet and can still return it but I read a review saying that this game was best on the DS because of the touch and microphone etc, but I'm not sure it's worth it to have the same game on Wii and DS? Any advice?

Lots of great questions I don't know the answer to! :)
First of all, Thanks! It's the last time I plan to celebrate our dating anniversary--DH says he can't remember two dates (we've been married for 3 years now). :sad2: :thumbsup2

Anyway, lets see. Yes, there is Lego everything coming out (Indiana and Batman are the 2 I know for sure). See they've already built the game engine for Lego games, so it's really easy for them to change the characters/scenes in the games. So the upcoming games should be just as good as Star Wars is and I'm totally looking forward to them. The gameplay will be very similar but you will have different funny characters doing funny stuff, which is my favorite part of the games.

Yes, they moved SBB to the 9th. Yes, the game supports 4 players with nunchucks. And there will also be WiFi play.

I would suggest you read the review for the DS version of LSW. Since the stories are so similiar I doubt you need both games, but I vaguely remember hearing that the DS version was worth getting even with the others.

To answer your(Tyedye) question about Smash....

You DO NOT need multiple nunchucks if you don't want them....in fact... here are the ways you can play Smash Brothers Brawl!!!!

HowToPlay_Controllers_1189466194.jpg

Controls

All of the actions described above are achievable no matter which controller you choose – which is an important point, because Brawl supports every possible option. Purists who've gone pro on the GameCube can stick with their standard purple pads from six years ago. Newcomers who've invested in the Virtual Console's Classic Controller can utlilize it, for a feel more akin to the SNES pads of eras long past. And those who simply have what came in their Wii's hardware box can still play, too, either with or without a Nunchuk plugged into the Wii Remote.

The controls will be slightly altered according to which controller you choose, with the Wiimote turned sideways being the most cramped option of the four – but even there, basic attacks will move to the 2 Button, specials will trigger from 1, and pressing both together will activate a Smash attack. It's unknown how many of the more complicated, advanced techniques will be pull off if you're only using a lone Wiimote, but we hope to learn more about that soon.

Great thanks! I looked but didn't find that. That's good to know, so if our family wants to play we will definitely have enough controllers, and I wouldn't know what to do with the nunchuk anyways so I'll just use the old GC one, that one has enough buttons on it for me.

I think this way of the controllers is fantastic and I hope more games adopt it.

BTW, I didn't have the patience to look for that info either, it was buried. I'm going to write to IGN and ask them to include information about which controllers you need with their basic info for each game (release date, price, publisher, and then add compatable controllers and number of players.)

You all can write in too!

I'm pumped. I think I just got a steal on Wii Guitar Hero from Gamestop:goodvibes . I went to Gamestop for the first time ever a couple of weeks ago and bought 3 used games: Boogie w/mic, Brain Games and Warioware. It was a "buy two get one free deal" and it cost $85 for all three games. My girls didn't like Boogie, so I took it back expecting $15-25 in store credit. I had the receipt with me showing I paid $45 for Boogie, $40 for Brain Games and got Warioware free. Somehow, the guy came up with giving me$50 store credit. They had two Guitar Hero's for Wii. With the store credit, I paid an additional $42.60 (including tax). Now...just need daughters to go to bed to try it out:lmao:

Guess what I found today!!!!!

Guitar Hero 3 for Wii!!!!!!!! I got the last one they had at Target tonight!

The bad news is I can't play it yet, as I still can't find a Wii any where!:sad2:

I hope and pray that this sunday one of the stores will have them in there adds!:wizard:

Congrats to both of you! Pm me with your GH3 Friend code when you get going if you have WiFi and we can play together! It's really fun!

Good Luck Stitch! You'll find that Wii soon!

well i wanted to add that my friend and i did co-op career yesterday and its pretty kool, basically you have to work together to get the score and move on to the next set. We finished the first set and wer done..lol.
On the other hand, im pretty pumped, i tried my hand at hard and beat the first 4 songs, i am stuck on the encore tho but i will try it again before the weekend is over. Granted i didnt 5 star them or get a super good percentage like i did on easy and medium but nonetheless i advanced..LOL

Co-op really adds a whole new game to the game. We love it!

Good job! Maybe, we'll play co-op together when we play, cuz I'll never beat someone who can play hard!:thumbsup2

Can anyone recomend a "get moving" game for pre teen girls?

they have the princess game but that isnt much movement.

They will bowl with us and do the Mona on Wario ware but I havent found anything that they really like that gets the heart rate up. Any suggestions?

Do you know anything about the Cranium game ( I think it is called Kabooki or something like that)?

I know there's some info on http://wii.ign.com but I haven't played it personally.

I would suggest Dance Dance Revolution right now. There are a BUNCH of new stuff coming out that actually focus on Fitness (Wii Fit--May 08, and games using a new power mat), but those won't be out for a while.

Some of the mini game games can be pretty stimulating, but nothing like real exercise or DDR. Wario Ware and Mario Party are probably the most stimulating that I have played.

The only things right now that I really think get you going are Tennis in Wii Sports and DDR. Maybe some other people have more ideas? I haven't played mario v Sonic, so I can't comment on that one.

You can read more at IGN.
HTH!
