Hi all,

I'm sure I'm not the only one who Hurricane Sandy knocked for a loop, and I can only offer my hopes and prayers that all who were affected come out okay. We just got power back at 5 AM yesterday, so we're cramming my parents in since they have no power.

As for running, I never got the chance to run at all this past week since I was stuck running my building in crisis mode all week. I hope to catch up on a few more runs this week, although Galloway has me very cautious about adding more miles during the week. How does everyone else handle the disruption in their training?

First, hope your life gets back to normal soon.

Second, as for the lost week of training....forget it happened! Seriously, don't try to cram in extra miles or make things up. Missing one week is not going to throw things off.

I second that. Don't bother trying to make up what you lost. Your body will remember what to do. Just continue with the program for this week.

FWIW, I don't plan on continuing my Goofy training while at WDW for Thanksgiving. I'll be trying to get in two runs, 7 miles a piece, on our "off" days. But that's it. Upon my return, it's straight into back-to-back long runs. It'll be tough, but it's just easier than trying to make up what I lost, or trying to run while on vacation.

I am SOOOOOOO happy that it's light at 6 AM again!! I can go for an early morning run now!!

I love the time change too! I can start my early morning runs without the headlamp now. :)

Headed out for 17 today...eek! Jealous of the 6 AM runs...guessing it will never be light out for my morning runs...4 AM is always dark!

Just back from a nice local 10k race-PR!!!!:cool1::banana: 1:05:24, beats my previous best time by 2 minutes. Everything went right today, I felt good and set a good pace from the start, which I was able to maintain throughout. Its fun to pass lots of other people, though this year was only the 2nd year of the race and there were WAY more runners than last year.

Going for a nice walk with DH now and this week is back to serious Goofy training!

Time change made no difference here. I got out a 3:49AM today. 68 degrees with fog, it was cool. :thumbsup2

Space Coast Marathon in 4 weeks and then 3rd Dopey in January

Well, 17 done in 2:42 but goodness it hurt!! Hope everyone enjoys their runs and races today!!

Congrats on your PR today! It feels great to shave off 2 minutes. :thumbsup2

I did the same this morning with my half marathon, came at about 2:19 (still waiting on official chip time) and that 2 minutes off my PR felt huge!

Happy to report that I finished my second half marathon this morning and PRd by almost 10 minutes on much more challenging course than my first half 3 weeks ago. I have a bath, wine and Advil in my near future. Yay for being done!

Like Maura said... Just let this week go and try to stay on schedule. Cramming can lead to injury. If you are unable to get out this week, consider taking the 3 weeks out of the Galloway plan that looped you up into the 26 mile long run.

Stay safe and hope things settle down soon... Been through tropical messes too many times to count. I know it seems like no one cares, but I know you have millions of Gulf Coasters praying for a quick recovery.

First 50 mile week DONE

Nice!! Congrats to everyone on this week's PRs.

Just realized the bad thing about it being light out for a morning run is now it gets dark super early. Geez. Is it bedtime yet?

First, Congratulations to everyone who did their long runs and PR'd this weekend. I admire your dedication, I am doing the Half this year and have no plans to EVER run 20 miles, :rotfl:

On to my question....to those of you who have done the WDW Marathon weekend before:

My flight from Seattle arrives into Orlando at approx 5:30 p.m. on Thursday night. We were thinking of taking Magical Express to our hotel, AoA and relax the rest of the evening.

However, I would love to be able to get to the Expo on Thursday night if possible.

I was wondering, do you think it would be possible, if we took a cab from the airport directly to the Expo on Thursday night would we be able to make it to the expo, pick up my bib, my shirt/goodie bag, my sis's chear squad stuff, and our race retreat stuff by the 7 p.m. Expo close?

I do not want to do any shopping or attend any seminars, just pick up our stuff and head to our hotel to check in, how strict is the 7 p.m. close time?
Is that when they stop letting people in, or everything shuts down?

Any info would help, thanks!
