Official Thread For Upcoming Eastern Canadian Cruises

So that means BeaverTails and the Freak Lunch box are out for the AM.
Do you think we can make it to the Citadel at 9am, and back to the port by noon? Will the Hop on Bus be running at that time or should we try for a cab?

Thanks

Might be true for beaver tails and freaks lunch book. FYI a walk from Citadel to the ship would take 15 minutes (googlemaps lists 20 minutes), so no issue there. A cab would cost you about $7.

I have no doubt that ambassatours who owns the hop on hop off service will have their buses running. They run a very good business and are well aware of the Disney cruises!

No offense taken, I usually skip Beavertails too :)

They actually used to ave a beavertail kiosk in Canada at Epcot but I am pretty sure it's been closed for a few years

It is true a little bit of a good thing does go a long way, we go to Halifax maybe 2 or 3 times a year, we get a beavertail once. I am not pushing them because I own stock in a pharmaceutical company that specializes in cholestrtol lowering medications:rotfl2: I just think when you are in a new area you should try something new atleast once. Besides, Obama liked them.:lmao:

Lol
Maybe I will break down and try seafood. I can always feed it to my husband if I don't like it. I really am trying to be more open to new foods

If I were to pick my favourites from the list of activities - I would pick the ones below. The Sugar Shack is the one that peaks my interest the most - I went to a few when I was younger and they are alot of fun.

No matter what you end up doing, make sure you take the time to visit the Saint John City Market which is just a few steps from the port!

BTW - I have done the Jetboat rides before - they are ALOT of fun!!!

Thanks for your insights! How do they do the sugar shack thing in the summer?? This peaks my interest too but I can't get a good image of it in my head. No tramping through a forest of pine trees dusted with snow... in June.
We're thinking of the Jetboat ride, too! But I think we'll book it on our own, if we can. Seems a better price. Have you ever done the zip line? It's not a Disney adventure and I've yet to hear of anyone who's done it, so that makes me hesitant...
Looking forward to visiting your town!:cool1:

I am not sure about the Sugar Shack in the summer. I have only ever done it in the winter now that I think of it. Likely a part of it will involve filling a troff (sp?) with crushed ice so the kids can make maple sugar "popsicles"

Where is the zipline at? I am afraid of heights so I have never done one but I can ask around.

Those visiting Canada must stop at Tim Horton's though. Gotta get a coffee eh?
lol

I have been to a Sugar Shack off-season once, though not this one. They definitely won't actually be collecting sap/making syrup at that time of year. The one I went to you can visit any time of year and they have a little museum/demonstration about how maple syrup is made, the troughs of snow to make maple syrup taffy, walks in the woods and of course pancakes and maple syrup. I imagine this would be similar.

I think the zipline is on the side of Reversing Falls bridge opposite the restaurant. To bad they never built a Tree-Go in the area, the one in Mactaquac is a blast, but might be to far for a day trip.

Have you heard much about the Fundy Train Canadian Disney Mom?
