Official thread for Sept. 21 Wonder!

I received my documents today! The TA even included a set of Mickey and Minnie bean bag plush toys.

And the best news is that I believe we were upgraded! I had booked room 7010 (category 8) and the documents say room 7134, which is a category 5 on www.disneycruise.com and in the Passporter book!

My documents still say category 8, though, so that is the reason for my scepticism. Should I call and asK or do you think it is safe to assume this is in fact a category 5?

Congrats jott3 on your docs and upgrade!!!! :Pinkbounc

I think its safe you say that you got an upgrade even though your docs may still say Cat 8. We actually have the same thing. They gave us a cat 9 room...but our docs still say Cat 11. Kinda weird eh? :)

:D My cousin got our docs today. The T/A was our hold up as well. No upgrade for us, but we are staying in a Cat. 2. And before you start thinking that we're snobby. There are 3 different families in the room, so we were able to split the cost.

Looking forward to the cruise. With everyone getting upgrades, maybe the cruise won't be completely full.......one can always hope.

Congrats to everyone! Sounds like a lot of upgrades out there. Did everyone gets their docs now?

I'm really hoping the ship isn't too crowded....I don't do well in crowds!

Wishing....what did you decide about the shirts? They came out so good it would be a shame not to have them "professionally" done.

Jordan, I don't think you're snobby! I think you and your family are smart. It probably would have been a lot more expensive to get seperate cabins. We are thinking of doing the same thing when my Dad retires and we take an extended family cruise. Just curious, do they charge per person or per cabin for category 2?

Can't wait to step on that plane!

Stimpy, it is still per person. But the cost goes down after the 2nd person. It turned out to be 1250.00/person. There are 2 couples, one with a baby, and myself. Lucky me, I am on the couch. I can sleep anywhere(and have) so it won't bother me a bit. If I can swing it, I will have you guys come down a take a look. I will try and schedule at a time when my relatives are doing something else.

As far as it being too crowded...we've been on the 3-day a few times and the ship was full. You wouldn't know it though. With kids that feeling might be different as we have always gone without kids until this year. The pools are where you will see the biggest crowds. Don't know when you'll see a down time at the pools as every time I walked by they seemed to be very crowded. The adult pool, on the other hand, was very peaceful. So if any of you can get time away from the kids, I would suggest an hour to lay by the quiet pool.

Another place to get away from the crowds.....the Cadillac Lounge. This lounge is very nicely themed and yet usually very quiet, even during peak evening hours...If you like privacy, this would be a nice escape.

As I have said before, late nights or early mornings are also great. There is nothing like roaming around the top decks and feeling the sea breeze/rain, knowing you're at sea--magical. I would go for that alone. Anyway, I am just rambling now, probably because I am getting excited....

Hey Jordan, now you are even getting excited and rambling like the rest of us!!!! :teeth:

Yes, it looks like our sailing is not full at all.... when I just pulled it up online, there are good openings in every category. For DS's sake, I am hoping that the kids club is not really packed! I can't believe all these great upgrades!!!! Congratulations everyone!!! Sure wish I had known before that Cat.10's were pretty much passed over for upgrades? I just went to DCL and sent them a little note mentioning it.

I am going to drive over (about 45 min...) and check on the shirts. But, don't worry, even if we don't get them, you guys will still be able to find us on Deck 10. I'll set something up... I hope most everyone will be able to stop by and say hello!

I think all the estrogen is wearing off on him ;)

I just read about the Cat 2 in the Passporter book and it sounds great, jordan!

Our new room has a metal verandah (http://www.disneycruiser.info/metal.htm), but it should still be nice (when I went w/DH last year we had the plexiglas verandah). My Mom was excited when I called to tell her last night. She has never been on the ocean, so I am mostly glad for her.

I moved my work exam up to 9/8, so I will probably be packing sooner now. It was originally 9/15.

The flamingo by my name is just like the party plates, napkins, etc. that I got for our little sailaway party.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. As of tomorrow it is only 4 weeks until the cruise!

Uh Oh! page two....

I'm jealous of all of the upgrades. I don't think we will get one since we are a category 6. Congratulations to all who got one!

I got the Passporter, I have learned some from it...Thank you.

Cathy

Hey Cathy, at least you do have a verandah! :) :) :)

I am REALLY jealous, because I now know that since we booked a Cat10, we are just automaticly being passed over for upgrades while everyone else in the inside categories are getting upgraded??? Wahhhh!!!! Wahhhh!!!!

Our ship is getting fuller.... Several categories are now showing GTY... There are still many cabins available though!

Four weeks from TODAY!!!!

DS and I will make his paper countdown chain tonight!

Just curious, who is arriving in FL the day before the cruise and who is arriving on the same day?

We are arriving the same day due to scheduling issues. We did the same thing for our cruise in 2002 and had no problems.

We will be leaving from WDW and going directly to the Wonder. We should be arriving around 11:30am. Look for 2 vans with lots of Japanese-Americans.

We are going to WDW beforehand so we will be driving from Orlando that morning. Hopefully we will have a resort for the week in Orlando so that will save us money on an extra hotel stay. I am hoping to be at the port by or before 10:00 a.m.

Cathy

We're flying down 9/18 and staying at the Polynesian for 3 nights before driving to the Wonder. Can't wait! (Still no AP rates though:rolleyes: )
