Official thread for Sept. 21 Wonder!

The shirts came out great!!!! Very professional looking. I'm sure you'll get a lot of people asking you were you bought them. I wish I had artistic talent like that.

No word on the dining situation yet but with the power outage everything around here is just starting to get back to normal. The TA is from Westchester County, NY and from what I hear they were out of power for almost 24 hours or more. We were lucky I guess since we were out only 12 hours.

I'll definately give TA a call on Monday if I don't hear from her this weekend.

Wow! The shirts came out really great Wishing on a Star! I think you said that you made them on your computer - am I right??? I've never tried to create iron ons, but that sure makes me want to try. Did you use any particular program??

Cathy

Thanks for the kudos on the shirts!

If you have never done this, then I would be happy to do one for you... I could just switch it to your last name. Anyone interested could just send me a PM ! :D

We used Corelle WordPerfect, which has a TextArt function... This is what made the Disney Cruise Line in a circle. I had to download the Disney Font first... Then, I just zapped in the image of Capt'n Mickey... Typed in our name in a neat font that looks a little like fancy embroidery stitching... ( That part looks a little blurry in the photo ?????) Once the image was all set, we printed it on the iron-on sheets ( Avery brand from WalMart ). This has to be done in 'mirror-image' because you flip it upside down to iron it on the shirt. DH's printer at work has an 'iron-on' option setting, and I could not believe how well it printed it out!!! Then, I followed the directions for ironing it onto the shirt. It takes a few minutes of ironing with steady pressure...

And, there you see the result!

I am going to delete the photo now... I know it sounds silly, but it just seems funny having our name displayed on the web...

Boy it was hot and muggy here today.... Reminded me that it may be really hot and muggy on the cruise!!!! Whew!!!

You are right, jordan! Only 5 more weeks now!

I WILL get my documents this week!
I WILL get my documents this week!
I WILL get my documents this week!

Just got off the phone with TA, she said we are back to main seating! Yipee!!!! She has a faxed confirmation stating we are in the early seating now so we shouldn't have any problems.

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Still no documents here. Did you get yours yet jordan? Who else hasn't received theirs yet?

Congrats on your upgrade too, Chubbyjen! We paid for a cat.10, and looks like you will have a better view than we will!!! :D

Hey, have you guys checked with your TA to see if they can find out if/when your docs went out? Surely you will get them soon!

Whoooooopppppeeeee! Got our docs today (USPS-we booked thru buycruises.com) and we got upgraded from cat 11 to 9!!! I have been dancing around like a nut all day! We went out to eat at the Golden Corral by our house and wore Disney shirts and pretended we were at a buffet on the boat! I have been playing my steel drum Disney tune CD all day and have the Disney Channel on the tv! My dog's hiding under the table- he thinks I've lost my mind! :p :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Arrrggghhhh!!!!!!

You know the cruise shirts I made? Going in the trash, every one of them! We wore them this weekend, wanted everyone to see us in our 'cruise shirts'!!! So, I washed them out, by hand, and dryed them... They came out looking just terrible!!! They did not withstand even the first washing. All the iron-on was peeling, etc...

And, they had come out so beautiful!!!

To, top it all off. The very first one I had done, before I had gotten the hang of it, was DS... Since it hadn't come out just perfect, I had just done him a brand new one.... GREAT! I thought, just don't even wash it, and save it for the cruise.... Well, since it was on a white T-shirt, it accidently got thrown in with the last load of whites!!! That one is ruined too...

I was wondering if a different brand of transfer-paper would be better. Or perhaps having them 'heat-pressed' on at a laundry??? But, after all that time and money... I give up!!!

Okay, vent over.... You may now return to your regularly scheduled cruise chat!

Wishing-
I'm so sorry to hear about the shirts... After all that hard work too.... :(

So are you really gonna give up now? I don't have any good advice to give since I've never made one myself....but maybe other people can offer some good suggestions.

Wishing - I'm so sorry to hear what happened to the shirts! They came out so good! You must be so aggravated. :(

After all the work, and money... to just throw them away... That is disappointing!
But, hey, we are going on a DCL Cruise!!! That is what matters!!! :Pinkbounc

Called a local laundry... his ironing system was steam and not heat press... But he said that he didn't think those iron-ons held up very well anyhow. I kinda knew that, but I thought I could rinse them out the one time. Guess not!!!

Wishing - I can't believe that the shirts did that. They were soo nice. You would think that they would be much more durable than that. If that is what happens what is the point of selling the iron on transfers for the computer. I know it was time consuming to do so I am so sorry that it happened.

Stimpy - I am so glad that you were able to get main seating. My two year old would not hold up very well with the late seating either. I am sure you are relieved.

Does anyone have a copy of the Passporter? I just ordered it, and I am hoping I get some usefull info out of it. I have already gotten so much from these boards, I am hoping it wasn't a waste of money.

Cathy

Cathy, I have the Passporter and I think it was worth it. A lot of it is stuff you may already know from the boards, but I think you will still like it.

Sorry about the shirts, Wishing. What a pain! Maybe you should write a complaint to the iron-on people and tell them what happened.

I still don't have my documents. If they aren't here tomorrow I am going to call the travel agent again. Grrr!

Hi, Stimpy and others! We're getting close to the 30-day mark!
