Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

Omg those SW weekends figurines are now $800 on ebay! How comes they are able to sell them ahead of time? How did they get them? Any ideas how much they are going to be in the parks?

I don't think they are buying them ahead of time, unless they are from years past. Many of the Ebayers say it's a pre-sale and that they will send them the weekend of May 17th (first weekend)
I believe that the large figs. are usually between $70 and $100 but I could be wrong on that

A separate show for Mark would be great. Yes, he can definitely tell stories for an hour without getting tired. Especially with James as the host. (His interview with Mark at Celebration VI was great.) Mark also did his soliloquy for Batman in the Joker voice...it was fantastic.

ITA. I saw Mark Hamill at Celebration VI as well. The interview was great and the soliloquy was wonderful. And I personally loved his stories about being on The Muppet show.:thumbsup2

We are very appreciative if the 501st. There is so much depth to the organization that we don't always see especially the philanthropies.

I've been wanting to join the 501st for years, I can't wait to finally submit and be a full member. Lately while getting my costume going I have been acting as a handler (that's someone that helps out the costumed people) at events, what a great bunch of people!

Oh i know about the 501st qualifications. A cast member asked me last year if I would consider thinking of joining the 501st and I told her that my costume IMO isn't anywhere near what I would like it to be to even consider joining.

I've always admired the groups such as the 501st and Rebel Legion because they're just fans doing it for the love of SW and many help out in fundraisers and events just because. :)

I went to an armor party earlier in the month (people working together on their costumes) it was great fun... and the detailing they all do is amazing... I am learning so much!

You can save money on lodging and do a Linda Skywalker....stay in the park all day and night, camping out the entire weekend :lovestruc
Just thought of her and how excited she must be

I am from too far away, and have to work... couldn't take the time off to stay :(

I want to catch at least one show at premiere theater with my 8 and 11 year old boys. Any suggestions on which one they would enjoy the most?

It depends on the guests, honestly, and what parts of Star Wars they enjoy. Do they watch The Clone Wars? If so they'd probably like the Behind the Force shows. Stars of the Saga might be too "grown-up" for them, unless they're fans of a particular guest/character that's attending that week.

If Ray Park attends, he also does a fun martial arts demonstration. Warwick Davis did a show last year with audience participation. And James Arnold Taylor has an inspirational and hilarious one-man show.

So just saw the announcement that Mark Hamill will be at SWW for one of the weekends we'll be there! I'm so excited! I read that he was not expected to do autographs but was going to be in the motorcade and a talk show in the Premier theatre. What is the Premier theatre? We've never been for SWW. Is this something they do just for SWW? Will it be open for how many ever people the theatre can hold or is this a separately ticketed event?

Thanks!

Premiere theatre is located next to Mama Melrose, they use it for certain events, all the talk shows will be done there during sww, it's included. As to capacity I'm not sure how many it holds but for Mark Hamill it'll be very popular and you would have to line up very early... I'm just going there at park opening and stalking the place and as soon as a line starts forming I'm getting in. It's under roof but it can get very stuffy, you can take food and drinks

Thanks, Yulilin!

I agree...stalking may be the way to go! :cool1: Hopefully he will do more than 1 show!! Otherwise, the crowds will be crazy!

IIRC, they never let you line up except for the next show on the schedule. But then again most people wouldn't want to normally get in line hours earlier. :) I'm dedicating one day to the parade and the other for whatever show Mark ends up doing.

So it turns out we will be there while Mark Hamill is there. I don't think we will try to see any of the panel presentations. What we really want to get out of the weekend is a couple of costume character pics, and the parade. I need some parade tips. How early do we find a spot, where's a good place? I'm confused enough with having to do FP+ this trip! and now adding in SWW for my husband and daughter is hurting my brain. I just want them to have fun...

Thanks!

To get a really good spot for the parade (and usually that time of year that also means on the shady side of the street) you will probably have to wait at least an hour, more likely an hour and a half, and people will still try to stand in front of you.

Yeah, there is no way they could handle the autograph crowds, but you KNOW he'll be doing Stars of the Saga. OMG, I really, really, really hope they offer FP+ for these shows.

there's only the number of fast passes that there are. They could end the line and shut it down. It isn't a matter of dealing with the crowds it is a matter of Disney not wanting to pay his autograph fee. Remember they pay for X number of autographs at the fee the celebrity sets.

You know she has to be so excited. Wow.

I know JAT is the host, but I kind of wonder if they'll have a "clone wars" show since that show is over and Rebels is coming up. If they do a "Behind the Force" type show it will probably be Rebels, especially since that will be on the disney channel. I bet it will be a preview type show with a taped message from Filoni and scenes, like they usually have scences from the next season of clone wars.
