Official Star Wars Weekends 2014 Tips and Tricks

Which day of a given weekend is generally the lightest? My wife and I are set to visit during the first weekend (our tenth anniversary is the Thursday before, and as we are both former Lucas employees, it felt like a natural fit). The current plan is to go on Friday just to do things like character meets, shopping, and the like, then come back to DHS on Monday for a normal day of rides and shows. We would be leaving on Friday whenever we felt we had enough of the crowds (probably by boat to Epcot for dinner) and head over to MK for evening rides.

Does that sounds fairly feasible, or are Fridays often worse than Sat/Sun? Is it affected by being the first day of the whole thing? Getting limited edition swag is not a priority for us, so we won't need to be fighting eBay'ers for gear, nor do we expect to want to get into line at an ungodly hour for an exclusive autograph, especially after doing Victoria and Albert's the night before...

Thanks, all!

I need some help with a question and I thought I would start here but this might not be the best place:

We had our trip booked for SWW when they released the special "Rebel" tickets to go on Thursday May 15th. Since we were going to be at Disney I purchased the ticket.

Once I had purchased the ticket I was allowed to list the merchandise that I wanted in the order of importance. There was some items that I could pre-order and have shipped directly to me.

Now they have opened up another Ticket Event for Vera Bradley but I will not be in Disney for this event. If I purchased the ticket would it give me the option to ship the items to me where I still got what I wanted but I didn't have to attend the event?!?!?!

Posting it here because the first ticket I purchased was SWW and it seemed lots of people had done these type of tickets before.

Sorry if it is in the wrong place.

It sound like a good plan. The first Friday is crazy mostly in the Merchandise Bldg. but since you don't plan on getting LE merch. you could just be there early, get pictures with characters, maybe see the parade or a show, shop (the merchandise bldg. should be better in the afternoon then go to Epcot and MK.

It's the first year that they are doing the SWW merchandise event so no one has experienced that before. I'm hoping someone that has gone to other merhcnadise events would have an answer for you. If not you could always call Disney and ask directly.

First I want to say...Disney, what's up?! $125 for a merchandise event with BRUNCH. There is food included in that $125. Rebels is double and no food, lol! :confused3

I am almost 100% sure that you actually would have to physically attend the Vera Event to buy the bags. I don't think just the ticket and not attending would help. You can call Event Services to make sure though.

Fridays are usually the least crowded, because locals are at work. Sunday mornings would be the next best and Saturday the most crowded, worst day to attend. Any of the days though, if you get there for the opening you'll get the most done and you can then leave after you see the parade.

Are the Disney character statues really gonna be $200 in the park, or are the inflating the price for ebay to make a profit?

Not at that price, I forgot the regular price for them. Ebayers inflate the prices to take advantage of the people that can't go

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!

I've never camped out for anyone at SWW. For him, I might consider it.

I just asked Gary from the Disney parks blog and he said he's not signing autographs....I don't think they could deal with the massive amounts of people camping out for days....

UGH. That's so lame. Carrie signed autographs, didn't she?

Oh well. I guess this means I don't have to make any decisions now! Haha.

Yeah, there is no way they could handle the autograph crowds, but you KNOW he'll be doing Stars of the Saga. OMG, I really, really, really hope they offer FP+ for these shows.
