Official Star Wars Weekends 2013 Tips and Tricks

New to dis threads. DH and I will be going weekend 2 and this will be our 4th SWW. I don't know if this was mentioned earlier, but do we think that the cancellation of clone wars tv series will impact SWW? I mean, what would the clone wars show be about and will there still be a lot of clone wars celebs?

an excellent question... I would assume there will still be Clone Wars celebrities since Ashley is coming to co-host and she'll do her show (Behind The Force) even though the CW is cancelled a lot of people still would find interesting how the do voice-overs to create the cartoon

I'm pretty sure they'll still be coming this year. Dave Filoni is rumored to be working on a new animated SW series so hope isn't lost!

That's awesome about the possibility of another series. And happy to hear that you guys think that clone wars will still have a presence

I guess I'm just concerned that they only have a few celebs announced! Hopefully more will be announced soon.

I'm going to be there the 1st day (May 17th). Will probably make a b-line for the merchandise. Is Tatooine Traders where the limited edition stuff will be or is there a special merchandise area? I've seen people mention a tent. Historically, where has that been located?

Already have a Ray Park and Jeremy Bulloch autograph, so not worried about getting the fastpass for them. What would you SWW veterans recommend as a "can't miss" event for a mid-30s male Star Wars geek who's going to be solo.

Would definitely be interested in a meet-up with other DISers.

Th merchandise tent is located behind Rock and Roller Coaster (usually this is a backstage parking lot) they build a big tent where all the merchandise, including the LE stuff is. If you're going the first day be aware that the line for merchandise is loooong, a lot of people go there first to buy the LE merch. By the afternoon the tent is less congested but some of the LE things might be sold out. A lot of people go and buy as many as they are allowed and resale on Ebay and other stores. Tattoine Traders will have some things (not the LE stuff) but I would not go near TT, it's super packed during SWW. sometimes CM limit the amount of people going in just because it's the exit to ST.
I would recommend Stars of the Saga Q&A, it's a great show with a lot of insight from the visiting celebs, also the pre-show with the stormtroopers is hilarious.

3 weeks til my 1st SWW!!!! My son is a huge fan, and he and I are going together to celebrate his graduation from middle school! He's so excited!

I've read about getting the fp for autographs. Can he get a fp for 1 celebrity, and I get one for a different one? Then we could just wait in line together for each and he could get autographs and pictures from both. I guess my question is.....can you wait in line without a band if the person you are with has one?

I hope we are able to get into the carbon freeze me too!

You head toward RnRC, to the right of the fp machines there's a gate that is usually closed, they open it and that's how you get to the tent. Make sure to get a picture of Tower of Terror from that angle, it's pretty cool

Unfortunately no, when you get in line for celeb fp they put a wristband on you (pretty tight as to not being able to take it off), only people with the writband and a fp for that celeb (the wristbands are different colors for different celebs) can get in line and meet the celeb. He can stand outside the line and see when you meet the celeb but he can't go in line with you.

Ventress, Cody, Rex, Leia, Stormtroopers, Clonetroopers, Aurra Sing, Jawas, Ewoks, Gamorrean Guard, R2D2, C3P0, Jedi. Mickey, Princess Leia. Minnie, Darth. Goofy, stormtrooper Donald, Zam. Wessel.
all of them sign. The only ones that dont are the droids

someone asked Dee Bradley Baker (voice of clones, also the man behind the Perry the Platypus sounds) if he was coming to SWW, he replied:
"Yes, May 17-19th this year"
He is one of the funnest people you will ever meet, he has worked in a lot of cartoons and movies.
It looks like we have a full schedule for weekend 1

Last night my son was doing the happy dance when he found out that he'd be here. Last summer at CVI, he and my son shared a very special moment. My son would love to get the picture of it autographed and to see him again!

Do we think the Fab Four-as-SW guys will be in the merch tent again? Do they normally start meeting at 9 also? Is is clearly marked which line is for chars vs for merch? Do you go under the RNRC "gate" I.e. where the car is hanging and bear right behind the bldg? And is there a secret tunnel to there from the TSMM FP machines??? LOL!!!
