Official Star Wars Weekends 2013 Tips and Tricks

I asked at the Ticket & Transportation Center, and she did it no problem. She had a huge stack of all the character cards, so I'm thinking most of the ticket booths have them.

At mk guest relations on Monday I saw several people get theirs swapped while we were purchasing ours...

Not to scare anyone interested in celebrity autographs.... but.... as of 4pm there are people already lining up!

Uhhhhhhhhh WOW! Nope nope won't do it for Black Friday, won't do it for an autograph here! :lmao:

I'm so jealous of all who are gearing up for weekend 1 tomorrow! I take comfort knowing we leave on Monday and a week from today we'll be getting ready for weekend 2. :cool1:

I'm curious about whether or not the "one celebrity autograph per person" rule still stands. I know the guide says this:

While in line, you will receive a wristband. Your Theme Park admission media and wristband allow you to receive one FASTPASS ticket. Only one autograph FASTPASS ticket per Guest. Each Guest must be present to receive a FASTPASS ticket. You may not get FASTPASS tickets for other members of your party.

But the way I read that, is you can only get one FP per celebrity, not only one celebrity per day, so that if in theory, you get one FP and there are still FP's available for a different celebrity for the same day, will you or will you not be able to do that? I know that Ashley and JAT's passes usually don't run out until later than the others, so if there were a way to do a Ray Park or Warwick Davis AND Ashley on the same day, we could actually manage to meet all 3 weekend celebrities. Otherwise, we will have to draw straws on the one we miss out on.

I think I already know the answer - just wishful thinking. ;)

ETA: Forgot Ashley also does Her Universe signings, so we may be able to catch up with her that way and still meet all 3 celebrities!

Taking the kids for their first SWW this sunday. Going to be a late arrival (around 4pm) hope to get in some character photos with the kids, stroll around and enjoy the scene. One question though, DD loves getting autographs, but do the SWW characters sign or not?

Either way the whole family is excited and can't wait to get there.

Quick question before the big day. DH to sign up for JTA taking DS with home. Myself and other DS to TSM to ride and fast pass for whole family. I know I'll need everyone's card to do this. DH will not need cards for JTA, correct?

Some do, some don't, sort of like with all the Disney characters. For example, Luke and Leia did, but obviously C3PO and R2D2 do not. Chewbacca did for sure and the Disney as SW characters (Jedi Mickey, Leia Minnie, etc.) sign. In general, the characters who sort of wander around and don't have "official" meet and greets don't typically sign.

At least, this has been our experience in the past. Have fun!

No, you don't need the tickets for JTA

Wow, so much info here!

I will be at DHS on June 8, as the tour director for a high school group (band and choir). We will be driving from Louisiana the night before, arriving about 8:30 am that morning.

Does anyone have any quick tips I could give the kids to have extra Star Wars-related fun that day? Is there a map anywhere that shows the parade route and other info?

Thanks!

The map is a few pages back, also on the main page of the dis and on www.Disneyworld.com/ starwarsweekends

Thanks, yulilin3, that's exactly what I was looking for!

I don't know why I couldn't find it on the WDW site, thanks for the guidance.

For those who might not have seen it posted earlier, here is a link for week 1: SWW MAP & GUIDE WEEK 1

I'll keep checking for updates for Week 4, but all the basic info will be helpful in any case.

Personally, I've never had an issue getting the wandering characters to sign something, as long as I had everything ready for them. The last time I did autographs was 2011 though, so I'm not sure if it has changed. Never hurts to try though, right?

They just posted the map today on the Disney site

I agree, I've gotten all the wandering characters to sign things every year, including last year.

Argh! Nervous, we've decided to try for autographs!! We're going both tomorrow and Sunday, and DGF would like to get an autograph from ray park and Jeremy bulloch. If we go in the am and I get in one line and she gets in another, can I give her the fp I get? If I get in the merch line, and she gets in a fp line, can she join me? Just wondering the best way to utilize two people, one who isn't that big a fan, without using poor etiquette. Any advice you guys can give me would be great...I should really be asleep already!

The only roaming character that may not sign is Aurra Sing. Her fingers are a bit long and it just depends on her friend. Zam Wessell just acts creepy and may not sign immediately for you but she will if you are serious about it :)

At the May the Fourth event the Mickey/Minnie/Donald/Goofy line used an autograph card to speed up the line. I have no idea if they will do that again for SWW-we will see tomorrow.

First off, for Ray Park you will probably have to be there for like...4am. Second, if one of you gets in another line they must get the autograph. A wrist band will be put around you so it would make it hard to transfer the fastpass.

As for the merch line, I wouldn't find a problem with it. I would jokingly tell the people around you she is not buying any LE pins/items. Otherwise I don't see any issue with it, it's like rejoining a character line but you are still only taking 1 picture in my opinion. Doesn't affect anyone.

I scoped out the places for lineups as per the information by the great DISers because I am not at my best with a full nights sleep let alone a couple of hours.

Anyway, the merchandise line has 15 chairs and 9 bodies; autograph lines had 1 to 6 (Ray Park had the 6); and there were several chairs left with no one around so am wondering what the etiquette is if someone comes to the line and no one is there.

quietgirl, I don’t know if you have noted through posts here that Ray Park is only doing one signing session a day and signs less than others because he spends time with guests, so plan accordingly.

Goodnight all, and may all your SWW dreams come true.

Cheers!

Roehl
