Yeah they went very quickly for 2019. Five tickets sold within days. Friday and Saturday next. Monday didn't sell out. It looks like they are not having a Monday in 2020 though. How quickly do the "Jedi VIP" tickets sell out for the Star Wars Celebration? A few seconds I'm assuming?
Down to a bit under 5 hours now - totally manageable lol! Yep, I imagine GE will be more than 10 in its first few hours, at least, after the first group enters and fills to capacity. Which is why I intend to be part of that first group, or not bother going at all on opening day.600 minute wait for Hagrids. Will SWGE beat that?
Probably only the opening day merch that lists the dates. Otherwise inside the land I don't expect anything we have seen to only be in DL.Is there any SWGE merchandise that is exclusive to Disneyland (that we won't see in Disney World)?

Star Wars Celebration Anaheim just announced.

Tickets on sale June 21st, 2019 at 9AM PT
Official Hotel Block on sale at 10AM PT
I am sure it will be busy. Not crazy busy maybe but busy for sure. I think many will tack on a day or two before or after the convention and go to Disneyland for SWGW especially if they haven't already seen it.Any idea how busy SWGE will be during that time? More or less than normal?
I would expect possibly less with the draw of Celebration though with the increased number of people they make take a day to visit GE.
5-day tickets sold out within hours... 3-day tickets also if I remember correctly... it’s insane. We bought our 5-days within the first hour.Yeah they went very quickly for 2019. Single day tickets outside of Monday went quicker than expected.5-day tickets sold out within hours... 3-day tickets also if I remember correctly... it’s insane. We bought our 5-days within the first hour.
Not understanding how this fits in with discussions here??THIS is why we cant have anything nice. People can really be jerks! I had to be at work at 5 am this morning so I could t stop for a newspaper beforehand. I got off work at 1pm and every single store/newsstand was out of papers. I see on eBay they are selling for $50+! See. People can really be jerks..not just for buying out all the newsstands, but for stealing them off people's lawns and selling them!
Thanks for the info. They certainly did handle it wellJust wanted to come on here and explain how Universal treated rope drop and controlled crowds today for the opening of Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure.
The parking garage usually opens at 6:30am, today they opened at 5:30am. People kept driving around the entrance while the security TM kept telling everyone it wasn't opened yet, eventually a line of cars stopped in the shoulder of Universal Blvd waiting for the garage to open (about 20 cars) Anyways promptly at 5:30am they opened.
We proceeded to park, go through bag check (always super easy and fast at Universal with the metal detector and x-ray machines) most walked or fast walked to the entrance to IOA (some did jog or run) but it wasn't a mad dash.
Arrived at the turnstiles at 5:45am. TM were letting everyone know that they were doing a staggered entrance, basically they would open a couple of tursntiles to let the people in and then wait about 3 minutes and open a couple more.
I got in at around 6:05am, they had barricades set up all along the entrance and towards Hogsmead, again most walked while some very few ran. Got to the front of the line close to the entrance to Hogsmead around 6:10 and then waited. Everyone was calm, TM came through with free Gilly Water, TM from medical were walking around making sure everyone was feeling ok. I was solo so my neighbors in line held my spot while I went to the restroom.
Then at 8:30am they started letting people inside in waves of about 200 or 300, they had a white rope, one TM would stand on one side while other was on the opposite side, a wave would go in, the next wave moved up. Very controlled, no chaos heading into the lockers and ride queue
Now if WDW decides not to go the reservation route this would be a smart procedure to use.
Also for people that didn't want to ride Hagrid's but wanted to go into the land they had the left side of the entrance open, so everyone going to Hagrid;'s was barricaded on the right while people not riding Hagrids entered on the left.
Now for GE it'll be easier to get people in waves since it's a whole land and not just one attraction, they could do that until the land fills to capacity and then implement the VQ system.
The only thing is that they would need to get people into DHS early, like as they come, whatever time 12:30am, 2am, get them inside in a controlled space and then start the wave entrance...
Obviously all this if they decide not to go the reservation route
Do you think they could/would break the queue up into waves outside of the turnstiles? Either with FP-like tickets or wristbands, or snow-fencing, or even just tape on the ground? The only thing is that they would need to get people into DHS early, like as they come, whatever time 12:30am, 2am, get them inside in a controlled space and then start the wave entrance...
