Shoot, I clicked the friend request button but for some reason it didn't let me add a message like usual, it'll be from Amanda Heidt-Young though. :)

I want to be added to on FB...

Hi! I notice you're from Birmingham. I'm originally from Alabama. I went to UAB.:goodvibes My parents live in Odenville. Do you ever go to Savage's bakery? I sure do miss that place! Welcome to the Dis and welcome to the Sept thread!:) April

Hi! I would love to be added too please. I'm April Simering Ethridge. I'll send a request. Thanks! April

We-mom and I- are returning the World for trip number 6. We will be arriving at FQ Sept 4th and leaving the 17th! :cool1: This is the first stay at FQ. Suggestions for room location?
We LOVE going in Sept but we have always been in Sept so there isn't anything for us to compare.
Our ADR list:
CHef Mickey-breakfast
Cape May-dinner
Raglan Road
Ohana-Dinner
Crystal Palace-dinner
The Plaza
Liberty Tree Traven
Norway
Garden Grill
China
T-Rex
Tusker House
Mama Melrose
House of Blues-brunch
We have eaten at all most of these places but would love feedback on Ohanas, Chef Mickeys and House of Blues.
Can't wait for the Sept hours to get released!!!

Can you change our dates from 9/15-9/23 to 9/12-9/18 as we got a fantastic flight for $121 to go mid week so booked that instead of a 20 plus hour drive with a 3 1/2 year old. Now am struggling with our hotel. Have ressies at POR with 4 adults and GD, which we booked for cost and the hopes of the FD regular meal plan. Considering switching to 2 rooms at POP for the extra room and bathroom, which, if FD is offered, would only give is the QS dining plan. I know we could upgrade, but budget is somewhat tight. Any thoughts or suggestions? Have never stayed at either POP or POR.

For some reason ADRs stress me out. There are so many awesome places that I want to try but that part of me just wants to stay with my old favorites. My fiance has never stepped foot in a Disney park in his life and I really want him to enjoy the food and the experience that Disney offers
(I REALLY want him to want him to come back!!).

Soooo with that being said here is my wish list

Le Cellier (lunch) This place is one of my favorites!
Coral Reef (dinner) New to us
Les Chefs de France (dinner) New to us
Akerhaus (breakfast) OR CRT (dinner) These are both on DD's list. I have heard not good things about CRT. I have been to both, but our last trip was in 2007.
Tony's Towne Square (dinner) New to us
Tusker House with Donald (Bkfst or Lnch) New to us
50's Prime Time Cafe (Dinner) Love it!
Yak & Yeti (Lunch) New to us
Ohana (Dinner) I really love the atmosphere here
Whispering Canyon Cafe (Dinner)

Still thinking about
Kona
Boma
Hoop Dee Doo
Biergarten
Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Tavern
1900 Park Fare
Cape May

I am thinking I may show my fiance the places I am debating and let him pick some. My DD just wants a few character meals. Last trip we did A LOT of them, but she was only 2. She will be almost 8 in September.

Our dates have changed as well ...

We are going September 17-27 :flower3: Thanks!!!

I can only speak for Ohana, but it was by far our favorite last fall!!! Food was awesome, hot, fast, and atmosphere was wonderful! They had a little parade and hula dance for the kids which they loved. Definitely both my dh's and my fav food of the trip!

I haven't stayed at either of those, but keep in mind that so far this year it seems most people are now only getting free QSDP with moderates. I don't know if that will continue to be the norm for the rest of the year or not, but it's something to keep in mind. I'm hoping their free dining deals come out soon, it's keeping me on edge waiting to see what promos they'll come out with!

I know what you mean, I'm a creature of habit too, and while I want to try new places this trip there's so many of the restaurants we've been to that I really want to visit again! As for my reviews (if you'd like another opinion :)), I can't speak for Akershus, but it is on our wish-list this trip. We went to CRT last fall and it was TERRIBLE! Food was gross, it was soooo rushed, and we definitely won't go back. I'm not a picky person at all, and we enjoyed all of our meals except for this one. Definitely a disappointment, especially for 2 TS credits. I definitely encourage you to try Tusker House! We went for breakfast, and it was by far my favorite breakfast of our trip. Food was great, they had a huge variety and it was such a fun atmosphere. Character interaction there was also great! It looks like you've already been to a bunch of my other favorites and enjoyed them too so I won't give my reviews on those. I don't know if you've been to Boma or Biergarten, but we didn't enjoy Boma at all. It just wasn't our type of food though, but I know a lot of people really enjoy it. Biergarten was another one of my favorites, but my family is german so I'm used to a lot of the foods they had on their buffet. We're going to try Cape May this year too for the first time, have you been before?

Thank you for your opinion! I need some to help me decide what to do lol. Akerhaus was wonderful! We only ate there for breakfast. It was a wonderful experience and I really want to try it again. CRT seems to get a lot of consistent bad reviews. I would think with what they are charging they can at least serve up something good to eat. I think the whole "eating in the castle" is what appeals to DD. I also don't want to drop a lot of money (or credits) on a disappointment.

We did Restaurantosaurus when it was a character breakfast and we had a blast! I think Tusker House will be a fun time :thumbsup2

Never been to Boma or Biergarten. But I am going to study the menus more. Never been to Cape May but I hear lots of great things about it.

I would be willing to join a fb group... not a big talker though, but will enjoy it.

I am treating my Aunt to a trip, however, I don't know what kind of things she likes food wise so I am planning at this time towards where I want to go, then when I hear from her adjust if necessary.

The ADRs that I am considering are...
Cape May (went there last Sept and fell in love with the crab legs)
Coral Reef (an all time favorite of myself and my Mother)
Boatwrights (basically for convenience, since we are staying at POR)
Rain Forest Cafe at AK (never been and they just opened it up to the DP)
Hollywood and Vine (may do Fantasmic package if they have it when we go)
Tony's Town Square (planned on trying this last year but the restaurant closed early cancelling our ADR... so we changed ADRs to Cape May)

When it comes to a value resort... my choice is POP
and when it comes to a moderate resort... my choice is POR
Either way you are doing good!!!

As for your problem on resort, I will tell you my own personal experience. In 2008, we went to Disney with some friends and family... My family was myself, my Mother and my Brother (all adult)... My best friend, her husband and their 2 teenage sons. We all booked at POP with a total of 3 rooms (we felt it best to have my brother in his own room and mom and myself in another). However, when they came out with FD, I priced how much it would be to upgrade. (note that back then it was still reg fd for values) If we had switched from 2 rooms at POP to a moderate... there would have been a $45 difference!!! (I just can't remember if that was more or less). We didn't do it, since my friends could not afford to change theirs... as there would be a large change for them as they only had 1 room.

I hope this helps you.

We absolutely love Ohana for dinner. My 6yr old son eats a ton when we go! DH loves it as well. It's my favorite dinner on property followed by Cape May and Garden Grill.:goodvibes We prefer Ohana dinner to the breakfast. We prefer Chef Mickey's breakfast to the dinner though. Have fun! April

OMG I LOVE Savages....My mom always got my cake from there for my bdays...I live on the other side of Bham from Odenville. Did your parents have any damage from the recent storms? I live right by the Oak Grove/Pleasant Grove area. We haven't had any damage this year yet but we got alot last year on April 27th. That is why we are so excited about going to WDW this year. So much has happened here over the past year and we need to get away and have a good time.

Booking my entire immediate family for Sept 9-15 this week. All nine of us.....going to be so much fun.

How did I not notice this thread before? I booked our trip in Augut 2011 for Sept. 2012 lol. Can you add my dates please?
