Official October Code Watch

Yesterday, I booked a room only at a POFQ for our October 3-8 stay. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed :thumbsup2 that an AP code will be released. If the email/postcard offerings are extending through 10/3, I'm fairly confident that an AP rate will be offered soon ;)

scavon ~ book a room only, they only charge you when you have a pkg. booked. I allways book a room only then if Pkg code comes out then switch to pkg. or apply room only/ap code and that way you are not tied to pkg. restrictions.

I've booked a room only, then added an AP rate later and not been charged a "modification fee". I did this as recently as spring of 2006 without being charged. However, Disney always seems to be changing its policies . . .

You can change a package that has been booked as well, to a discounted code, without penalty, IF the final payment has not been made, and IF there are rooms available under the code. Nothing has changed. It's been that way, as far as I know, since MYW came out. If you change your package which results in a decrease in price for any reason after you've made your final payment, then you get charged a fee of $50 or more, depending on how close it is to your arrival date.

We should be getting AP rates soon! I'm expecting around the beginning of August, going by last year. I can't wait to actually have our rooms booked!

okay, I'm confused! Do you have to have an ap to get the codes that we all seem to be waiting for?

It depends on the code. Some codes are open to the general public whereas others are for AP holders, Florida residents, Disney Visa Card holders, etc. It really just depends. I'm hoping for general public or Disney Visa Card holder codes!

hi guys does any one kno w if any july codes that that can apply to our aaa pkg leaving sun for the world staying at pop hoping for upgradepirate:

The website www dot touring plans dot com has a crowd calendar but the October part is hidden unless you have the password to log into the site. You get the password by buying the WDW guide book and the password question changes every time you enter the website - my book is presently loaned out. I'll get it back beginning of next week and log in to see exactly how he has predicted the crowd. If I remember correctly the first part and end of the week were the higher numbers but I'll check for sure. He uses actual numbers from previous years to predict the upcoming year and his accuracy rate is pretty good.

October 8th is Columbus Day, so some schools are off.

We are actually off 5th & 8th (fri, mon).

That is why there are larger crowds.

Yes lots of people take advantage of the Columbus day holiday and come to WDW. We do not get the day off but it seems like lots do.

FYI, New Jersey teachers have at least part of the week off for Teacher Convention and some school districts have the entire week off, thus the influx of people.

We have off Nov. 5th to the 12th. We will be in Disney from Halloween to the 7th. :woohoo:

In addition to the Columbus Day holiday, the Race for the Taste takes place at Disney on Sunday, October 7. That could be another reason the crowds are higher the first weekend.

I am also interested in a code for October. We are going 10/10 - 10/15 and staying at Pop.

I am subscribing for dicounts - hopefully. We are planning on traveling in October. We have family going Oct 6-13, but after reading this thread, I see that is a very busy time. I was just getting ready to book our trip through AAA. Maybe best to travel possibly end of that week through the next week and get to spend a few days with them. They are staying at POFQ. With a family of 5 we would need 2 rooms there. We have stayed last year at the CR conciere level and loved it - but expensive. But the monorail was nice. Am thinking about the Poly - garden view. Just weighing being able to stay where the family is or staying at the Poly with one room and a nicer location. We have twin 15 yr old boys and a 4 yr old daughter. Any thoughts on this?

Mom2twocuties: welcome to the DISboards. You will love WL. Hopefully we can all get a good code soon! Have fun planning your trip.
