Official October Code Watch

How will you know when a code comes out?? I know in the past I have received a postcard in the mail, sometimes cards via email. (I also check my spam email every day because I'm afraid it may end up there!) I also check certain websites. Am I missing any other way????:confused3

I love your quote about grumpiness as I'm having a glass of Pinot Grigio right now. Going Oct. 7-13, too, at Movies. I'm in N.Ga/Chatt area and flying Allegiant out of CHA.

Subscribing. Going October 7 to 13. :goodvibes

Looking for a code Oct. 7-13 for Pop! We have AAA booked, but I'm watching this thread diligently!

Looks like we are all going at the same time!:yay: Looks like a popular time, a couple of resorts are sold out already, hope that doesn't mean we won't get a discount:eek:. Booked SOG and Pop for Grand Gathering Oct 7-13; hoping for a code for more rooms to book.:grouphug:

Which resorts are sold out? Just curious. I hope it's not too crowded...but when is it NOT crowded at The World??

The contemporary, the shades of green, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian, and all star movies are all sold out, there could be more I only know of those from checking into booking them. Actually this is my first time going down that it may be busy, well New Year's Eve was kind of busy but only for two days. I have always been very lucky but now it is not looking so. I only say that because I never encountered SOG and Contemporary both being sold out. :rolleyes1

sorry if this question has been asked before, but if our vacation is October 31-November 5, should I watch for October or November codes, or do I need both??

Thanks for any info.

Isn't the Contemporary having remodeling done? Maybe that's why? :confused3 I know there is a nursing conference at one of the mods (can't remember which right now) so that may cause some to fill up too. I'm fine with GF being booked...not my style!!;) Hopefully we will still get a code! If not, I'm coming anyway so look out!
OT: I am getting so excited about our trip! We have not been anywhere since last year. I finished graduate school in December and this is a belated celebration as well as fall break for my DD's. I would really like to upgrade (if a code comes out) but I really don't want to pay for deluxe rack rate. (Need to start paying back student loans :scared1:) I don't want to do a mod because of the buses. That's why I am at POP right now...I like the one stop buses. However, I would upgrade to POLY (even if for part of our trip) if even a small discount comes out so we could use the monorail! With one child in a wheelchair, I don't want to have to fool with multiple bus stops! Sorry OT just thought I'd share!

October. The rate starts with your first day. So if there was a code that ended October 31 it would cover your whole stay.

Hey all, I just saw this thread, I'll be there with my boyfriend for my b-day weekend Oct 19 - 21. I already have the Swan booked because I get a teacher's rate but I'm always looking for a better deal! We're going just for the Food and Wine Festival, our 4th time going to it!

I am going Oct. 6- 13th and hoping for a discount code for Wilderness Lodge. I have never been to Disney when it was crowded, but our oldest is in school now so we are chosing this week because of Columbus Day holiday to minimize the missed school. We are at least hoping the Halloween Party won't be congested. What day do you think would be better? Monday or Thursday?
Any crowd thoughts would be welcome! Thank you!

We are headed down Oct 6 - 13 and I can name at least 10 families from my area that will be there during that time and that doesn't come close to the people I have seen on the DIS board headed down also.
We were there this same week last year - it was crowded but workable. We worked the fast pass system for most everything that we could and avoided quite a bit of waiting - we still had to wait a good while for Test Track and a few other popular rides even with a fast pass. Soarin' without the fast pass was almost 2 hours long - with the pass, less than 30.
With most school systems adding fall break I think it will continue to increase in attendance. The touring plans website has the crowd levels that week between 5 and 7 on their 1 - 10 scale. Still won't be anything like the level 9 and 10 crowds that are there right now - a friend said last week she waited almost 20 minutes just for the restrooms!!
Waiting on the code - our traveling party of 11 saved over $1100 last fall with the code for 3 rooms at AS Music!!

We are going the 10/18- 10/24. It will be our first October trip. Is it just busy because of the Columbus Day weekend, or is the whole month that way?

Subscribing! I'm going to be at the Poly from September 30 - October 8. I missed the September codes by 1 day.

We will be there October 13-18. Hoping for a code as well as lighter crowds. Does anyone know if it is extremely busy that week? We were hoping since the Columbus Day crowd would be gone that it would be somewhat better. We usually go in September so this fall break thing is new to us. Thanks for any info!

Just my thoughts.....I would pick Thursday - it seemed last year that Monday was more crowded and it dropped off a little as the week went along then picked back up on Friday. The parks we were in might have something to do with it but it seemed like Wed and Thurs were less crowded than the other days. I think MNSSHP is also on Friday this year so that might cut down on the Thursday crowd also because most people travel on Sat and might want to save the party to do on their last night. We are not doing the party and were very disappointed when we found out that MK was closing at 7 on that Friday night!!

scavon I was just on the disney site looking through some different specials and a CM pop up box came up telling me that a CM would be with me shortly for me to chat with. I asked if they were aware yet of any new codes for October and he said they have not been told of anything yet. I then asked if I were to go ahead and book our resort and then the codes come out later, would I be able to call back and have the codes applied to our room. He told me that yes the reservation could be "modified" based on the code, but there would be a $50.00 modification fee applied if the price were to decrease. :sad2:

scavon ~ book a room only, they only charge you when you have a pkg. booked. I allways book a room only then if Pkg code comes out then switch to pkg. or apply room only/ap code and that way you are not tied to pkg. restrictions.[/QUOTE]

I've booked a room only, then added an AP rate later and not been charged a "modification fee". I did this as recently as spring of 2006 without being charged. However, Disney always seems to be changing its policies . . .
