I am hoping I can actually keep it a secret. I was printing autograph pages today for our books that I always make and my son asked why I was printing pictures if we weren't going to Disney any time soon. I told him I was finishing our last book and needed more pictures. I think he believed me, but if I mess up too many times....

We love AKV. We usually stay at Kidani so this is a first stay at Jambo and I am hoping that we are not disappointed. The kids will love the bunk beds I am sure. It's one of the reasons why we booked there instead of renting points from a friend. I love the resort though. We spend time at Jambo each trip so it won't be totally new. Can't wait!

I stayed at AK in 2004 in a regular room. This is our first time renting points, we will be in Jambo since we did a 2 bedroom value villa. I cannot wait to surprise them, and then we have a fun surprise when we get to the rooms! We will go to the door and then when they try to come in ask them where they are going. Tell them this is our room and they can't come in. Then we will point to the door down the hall(the entrance to the studio) and tell them THAT'S their room. They are going to FREAK when they realize they have their own room! The connecting doors WILL stay open at all times, of course...

Are you a teacher???

Is that enough green? I went to school for secondary Ed, English and was a high school teacher for a year in FL, but couldn't find anything when I moved back up north, so I went into IT. I'm now an Instructional Designer, but we don't get summers off. Jealous!!!

It's funny you mention not being able to find anything. I am a certified elementary teacher, but after being laid off a couple years ago from a private school (due to a decrease in enrollment) I have been unable to find anything either. I currently work in a middle school as a data manager. Hoping that gets my "foot in the door". I actually LOVE my job, but it doesn't pay well at all. On the bright side, I do still have my summers off.

Doing a little car shopping today. I thought it cooled down a bit today (99 degrees) so it's a good day. My lease is up in Feb and since used Nissans are going like crazy because of the shortage in new ones, now's the time. Anyhoo.

3 months today!!! I'm still jealous of all you people in the 80s but I have 2 more days and then I'll be there. Then I'll be jealous of all you people in the 70s!!

84 DAYS!

sure, I worked at Hollywood and Vine restaurant at DHS in 1996. It was a cafeteria then serving breakfast and lunch only- no characters. yep, had a fabulous 50s cafeteria lady costume too. I walked by Starring Rolls everyday, since I came in the cast entrance right there, but never realized those delicious cupcakes were right within my reach!

That's probably a good thing. Imagine how many you would have eaten!

woo hoo! congrats! we are there on the 18th- i know at least a few of us are - Julie (mousescrapper) and we are planning to meet up sometime that night! She has an amazing costume you don't want to miss seeing!

I'm so sad I won't get to see Julie's costume. We're going the 16th.

I am sorry I asked what you all had to do, after reading your lists I have added several more things to mine!

I'm not sorry you asked! I'm glad! I was forgetting a few of those things.

Thursday 10/20 Resort rest day Hoop De Doo dinner 7:15

Friday 10/21 MK 9-12, Epcot 3-6 Dinner Ohana 6:40 ​

We have a couple of the same park days!

Today, not so much! We have a community pool we have passes and I had the day off so we went to the pool. There is a rock formation thing that kids can climb on-which Ellie always wants to do. The oldest and I went back to the chairs to get on sunscreen during the break while she was playing on the rocks. All of a sudden I saw a woman holding her hand walking towards me, her scream "mommy" and then I saw the blood! She had fallen and bashed her nose on the rocks and had one of the worst bloody noses I have ever seen! We were in the lifeguard station for a good 20 minutes getting the bleeding under control and the rest of her cuts and scrapes bandaged up. I almost passed out there was so much blood She is better now. Just sounds really nasally from her really swollen nose. I'm hoping the blood comes out of our 3 beach towels and both hers and my swimming suit. There really was a lot of blood on all of them.

I hope everyone else had a better day!

Poor thing! I'm glad it looks okay now. My son ran into a pole in the kiddie pool (one of those things that has buckets at the top that dumps water on you) of our Y a few years ago. He chipped one of his front teeth and now has to deal with that the rest of his life. Insurance will only cover replacing it every two years so we have paid out of pocket to have it replaced a few times after it was knocked out from things like him biting into a frozen pop tart or wrestling with his dad. There were times he had to wait a few weeks and walk around with half a front tooth though. I can't stand that and I'm sure it bothers him.

Thanks! It was definitely a scary moment. She isn't going to play on the rocks anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't allow kids to play on the rocks at all anymore. They are more of a decorative thing that kids climb on more than a play thing.

I foresee a sign that says, "No climbing on rocks."

Don't worry Shannon. We know that life has been super busy for you since you went back to work. I'm just glad your healthy and back to work.

As for me, been busy as always. DS turned 11 Thursday! He's not my baby anymore. And my sweet in laws visited, plus had to work and clean house. I loathe cleaning. I did take the kids to see the last Harry Potter movie to celebrate ds's birthday. If you have not seen it yet, go see it. It is the best one out of all the HP movies. I can't believe October is almost here! I am getting excited.

I missed at least one of the HP movies. We bought all the combo packs from Target last week. The kids are excited because they include digital copies. Now we're trying to watch one every few days and then go see the new movie when we are finished. Can't wait. Kind of makes me sad though that we aren't going to WWHP until Christmas 2013. I'm sure it will be packed this year but I know DS would have preferred to go this year.

I also want to buy the books. I thought we owned them but I guess I was being frugal and got them from the library. I haven't read them myself. I would like to before our Christmas 2013 trip and I know DD wants to read them and DS is talking about reading them again. Just trying to decide if I want to spend the $50 on Amazon. It seems like a good price.

What are you planning to be on your MNSSHP night?

Me - probably wear one of my Mickey Mouse Scrubs and go as Mickey's personal nurse.

DS - wants to be a pirate

DD - wants to be Rapunzel (that is if the BBB has the costume)

Haha, there go our kid's similarities again. DS will be a pirate after a trip to PL and DD wants to be Rapunzel but if BBB doesn't have Rapunzel it will be a bit harder since I will probably buy the costume from the Disney Store and take it with us. I don't believe I'll dress up other than wearing a black Disney t-shirt. DH is going with DS to PL and I went ahead and added him to the reservation. Can't wait to see what they have done. The biggest problem is DH hates spending a penny on anything and will probably not want to buy accessories for him or DS. Our BBB appointment isn't until 45 minutes after theirs starts so I'm hoping to make any purchases for DS before DD and I head to the castle.

85 days to go here!!! Where did the time go? I can't believe summer is almost over and I have to return to work in just a few short weeks. WOW!!!

I'm beyond ready for Disney to be here! I NEED a vacation!

I love how school hasn't even started and all the people who work in schools are ready for vacation!

Her sister fell off her scooter a few years ago on the neighbor's driveway and chipped both her front teeth. Luckily she hasn't had any issues yet. They've even been holding up with braces!

Yeah, I foresee a sign that says that too. I'll have to let you all know tomorrow after we go. As long as the rain holds off that is.

We are leaving in 87 days. List of things is LONG, but I will get it done. I still can't seem to make up my mind over where to stay. I have been waiting for discounts, or rates to go down at the dolphin/swan (i get employee rates IF available) and was very upset to see 2 weeks ago that dolphin/swan rates JUMPED. Then thursday the employee rate came open for the week before we are going...so that gave me some hope. I would like to stay on property, but willing to keep my off property res if nothing comes up.

I am new to Disboards....do people get together while we are there or what.

Our Disney movie watching has definitely increased, but not really because of DD!

We went to the store today to look at the selection of cakes she might want for her bday end of August and she chose Minnie. I was surprised because she's been on a HUGE Ariel kick lately, but I kept asking her and showing her all the others and she stuck with Minnie. I'll show her again when it's time to order to make sure, but she does love Minnie, so she may stick with her! I'd love to get her to be Minnie for Halloween. I love the little pink outfit they have in the store. Little ones in Minnie outfits are so adorable!

We went to Party America today (they had customes 50% off ) Talked DS into being Peter Pan:told Keith that Peter Pan is Jakes teacher (from Jake and the Neverland Pirates) DD is still sticking with her Tinker bell but found her a really cute custome. Kids want Jeff and I to dress up as pirates, will see what I can find.

Tomorrow i have to make my list of to do's and write it down instead of keeping it in my head.
