OFFICIAL NOVEMBER 2017 THREAD

So we are back again! My DS is playing travel baseball and they scheduled a tournament the week we were supposed to go in July, so we did a little looking and booked November 22-27, 2017 at POR! We got a deal through a TA so we are now just waiting for the November Southwest schedule to come out to switch our flights. Our first time over Thanksgiving so I know it is going to be crazy, but we don't care!

For anyone who has gone on Thanksgiving day before, where is your favorite place to have Thanksgiving dinner? We have park hoppers so we aren't tied to one park, so just kind of curious what is out there.

I haven't been on Thanksgiving before, but we decided to book Garden Grill. I already started ADR planning, because why not?? :D

Super bummed! Our November trip is at risk. We just bought a house and between that and the new furnishings we are going to want to do with it, I'm not sure if we are going to be able to still do the trip I had been planning. Kind of bittersweet, because I'm excited about the house, but don't want to have to cancel our trip. Maybe if I can just convince my DW to wait on some of the furnishings, we might still be able to swing it

We've been going Thanksgiving week for the past 5 years or so. Usually we plan our Thanksgiving meal at the resort we're staying or close by. In the past we usually don't go to a park on Thanksgiving Day because of the crowds. This year we are staying at BC so I'm thinking about Yachtsman's Steakhouse or maybe one of the restaurants in World Showcase since we can walk back.

We hope to get a FP for Soarin, eat and then go back and swim in SAB weather permitting. I don't want to deal with any transportation but our own legs.

Sounds perfect I'm hoping we get the same weather as last year, definitely warm enough to swim.

Bummer! Adulting is the pits! We cancelled our October trip that was going to piggyback on my November runcation so that we can save for a cruise my parents want to take for their 50th wedding anniversary. A Disney cruise for 5 is expensive! But I figure if I can save up the amount the trip would have cost, or close to it, by that time then I've got our deposit then some covered. So sometimes you have to make choices for the greater good! (The greater good... ;) )

We are going to add a day to our trip making it November 12th-November 18th...so we can attend the Christmas party. Now if we can decided whether to stay at Poly for one night or just check into Wilderness Lodge early...decisions decisions

Hello all! I'm very excited and scared to say we are joining you all November 18-25th with extended family. We will be a total of 15 in all. We will be staying at POR. I am a little nervous about the crowds after reading some other posts. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to pick which park each day. I will have some first timers with me and want to make it as magical as possible. Also any advice to deal with crowds would be great. Will we have a hard time getting dining reservations for all? Thanks.

Greetings, fellow Mouseketeers. Well, my recent trip earlier this month was going to be my only Disney trip this year. Yeah, right. It was so fun that I just have to go back this fall, after all! Still deciding between October, November, or ideally including some of each. For now I'll join the October and November threads, and will see later if I need to drop out of one of them. Will keep you posted when I know my specific trip dates.

Welcome!!!
I love the crowd calendars on Kenny the Pirate & Disney World Prep School and use those to get ideas until our actual dates are released for crowd calendars.

As far as the dining I think you might have to call Disney directly if you're all wanting to eat together to make the reservations? Maybe someone else here can offer more insight to that.

Yes, you would have to phone Disney directly to book dining reservations for parties larger than 11 people. But it can be tough to get a group that large to do everything together, and I think planning all the meals as a group of 15 might be overboard, because people may have different preferences about where and when to dine. I'd suggest planning a couple of meals for the whole group, but for most of the meals, split up into two smaller groups at different restaurants. You could let everyone choose between the two restaurants, and then your groups could be small enough that you can book the dining online, plus you could better accommodate different preferences that way. I organized a family reunion last year, including a day at AK and a day at Epcot. I planned group meals and activities, but was understanding when some members of the group chose to do their own thing at certain times. People enjoy the together time more if they are also allowed freedom to separate from the group when they want to do something different.
