The only date we can go would be 9/14 -- we already have ADRs for Concourse Steakhouse, 7:30 that night. Even if the park is closed, but we have tickets for the party, can we come back into the park?

Obviously, I am a newbie at this! :)
Yes you can still come into the park with your party ticket. However I really would recommend either getting an earlier ADR, or changing the date of your ADR at that place. If your ADR isn't until 7:30pm, you're going to miss a lot of the party.

DH and I will be attending on September 14th. We are trying to decide on costumes. has anyone started a costume thread yet? I am looking for ideas for our "pooh" sized frames. Though hopefully, after our many miles of walking we are planning over the next 5 months to prepare our feet for the walking at Disney, we won't be "so" pooh sized.

We'll probably let DD choose what she wants to be and we'll theme around that. Or not. I have no idea. lol Right now she wants to be Minnie Mouse, wants her daddy to be Mickey and wants me to be Daisy.

Here's a question I've asked on other threads but haven't had an answer yet:

Which day is likely to be more crowded: October 28 (Sunday) or October 30 (Tuesday)?

Newbie question here:

Hubby and I will be there Sept 16-22. The only day that should coinside with MNSSHP is the 21. We plan on being in MK that day. I understand we will get a band about 4:00. We have dinner ADR at Tony's on Main Street.

My question is... about how many people dress up, adults especially? I am not sure that I can get my hubby in a costume.

Are there people in costume all day or just for the party?

Also do we need to bring bags to trick or treat with or do they hand those out?

Thanks for the help.

Great questions!!!

Last year when we went, I'd say maybe 40% of the adults were dressed up. There weren't many, but they didn't look out of place either at the same time. We're planning to dress up this year (I'm 24, DH is 28) and we're so stinking excited!

I think those that are attending the party probably either change clothes if they're already there or they wear their costumes all day. I'm not really sure though.

They'll provide cute bags for the candy.

Eek! I'm so excited! Have fun!

Actually, if you enter the park after 4:00p you'll get your wristbands at the turnstyle.

If you are already in the park, you'll have to get them elsewhere. There will be CMs near City Hall and near the Castle to exchange your tickets for wristbands but they won't be out till closer to the party time; not at 4:00p.

Also, you 'might' be able to exchange your tickets for wristbands at dinner at Tony's. Just ask when you get there. They used to do this before for party goers.

Have fun!

As for getting DH to dress up, mine just wore a Goofy pirate headband. I couldn't believe I got him to wear it! And I just wore a princess headband. My boys were mr incredible & mickey mouse. Very cute!

Happy planning! :maleficen :maleficen :maleficen

Here's my hubby dressed up last year as the Cheshire Cat:

You can see his costume is simple and he wasn't uncomfortable! You can't see it in the pic, but he also had a tail!
I think it's a blast dressing up! The CM's treat you like that character! One CM actually bowed to me (I was Cindarella) as I was carrying an armload of hot dogs down main street. And during the parad the Mad Hatter came up to my DH and said, "Best costume I've seen all night!" My DS (Peter Pan) had a stand off with Captain Hook (he even poked captain hook in the nose with his sword!) I think dressing up can really add to the experience!

We went to the first party last year and I agree, the CMs really treat you like the character!! DH went as Master Gracey and the CMs from the Haunted Mansion kept bowing to him and calling him Master Gracey and giving him such awesome treatment...he relished in it!

Dining Recommendations ~ Eat at LTT [characters in costume]

Are the costumes different than they normally wear? (Halloween or something?) Thanks!

LTT was so much fun last year! Here's a picture of me and DBF in our costumes. It was at the end of the party. We stopped for EVERY photopass person we saw. Since we usually travel just the two of us there are rarely pictures of us together, photopass was much better than handing our camera to a stranger!

They are NOT in costume like they are in the parks for photo ops. They only wear an eye mask or a festive apron.

Here is Minnie with an eye mask at LTT:

Goofy in an apron at LTT:

I also have a picture of Goofy with an eye mask instead of the apron from another year.

Here's Tigger and Piglet in costumes in the park:

Anyone have a tried and true touring plan for the party? If it's crowded, I thought it might be heplful to have a plan of attack to get the most out of it. Sorry if this has already been asked, but I could not look through all 32 pages! :goodvibes Anyway, if you have a good plan I would love to hear it. Thanks! We plan on atending the 1st party on the 14th. It will be our 1st time at the MNSSHP. Can't wait!

Well, first I set priorities for what I want to accomplish. I like doing most of the special events like the parade and fireworks and of course my kids love trick or treating. We also try to do at least one Photopass photo. My favorite one last year was outside the HM.

I would either get the hours for the special events from last year (they can change slightly from year to year though) or if I was going to a later party, wait for someone to post the hours of the special events for this year.

Then I'd make a plan according to the schedule and my priorities. Of course, it could change on a whim based on what my kids wanted to do. ;)

Here's basically what we did last year:

We headed to Haunted Mansion to ride it and get that doombuggie picture taken.
Treat or treated our way to Fantasyland
Rode IASW and Dumbo
Got our picture with Tigger and Piglet right outside Pooh's playground/across from Pooh's ride. (this took quite a bit of time)
Trick or treated our way to Toontown.
Photopass picture with Minnie in her gazebo. (this took ALOT of time)
Trick or treated to Tomorrowland via the special path; got photo with the Walrus.
Trick or Treated in Tomorrowland.
Rode Buzz
Rode the People mover
Made our way to Main Street (in front of the Castle) for the 9:30p fireworks.
Meanwhile DH got a spot on Main Street for the second parade (10:30p).

This time we didn't do the Villain's Mix and Mingle (
7:45, 9:00, 10:15 and 11:15 p.m) however, while we were waiting for the parade to start (sitting on the Main Street curb), my younger DD ran to the Castle to watch the 10:15p show.

We didn't do:

Merlin's School of Wizardry
The Fairytale Garden in Fantasyland becomes a realm of enchantment as Merlin amazes guests with fantastic feats of wizardry.
7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 p.m.

Halloween Dance Parties
Stitch's Cosmic Dance Party - Tomorrowland
Get Up & Boo-gie - Fantasyland

Once the second parade was over, around 11:00p, we waited for some of the crowd to die down and then we left.

Time goes by so fast, it is very hard to fit everything in but we got what we really wanted to do done.

Have fun planning!

We went to the first party last year and definately did NOT need any sort of touring plan :) I guess it all depends on what you/your kids want to do. Since there are activities like the dance parties, and trick-or-treating that aren't usually there, that will throw things off. Also, if I remember correctly, not ALL of the rides are open that night, so less to see.

How were the crowds at the first party last year?

It was kind of crowded (IMHO) but it was the first one we attended. We finished eating at LTT just as it started (7p.m.) and went on HM first. Then we did a little Trick or treating, rode Buzz, and then got our spot for the first parade (corwded). It was delayed about 15 min., or so, due to rain. After the parade, we got our spot for the fireworks (That was very crowded!) We did some more rides and Trick or Treating and left between 11:30-12. We didn't do any of the other special events. The first Villians show was cancelled due to rain.

The lines for some of the Photopass setups were pretty long, others were better. The one with Cindy's carriage (just carriage, no Cindy) was very long. Others, set up in TL, were only one or two waiting. The lines for the candy varied. Some would be very long, others had no line. Then when you would go back by later, the ones that had long lines, were now short. So, it definitely varied.

We are still deciding if we are going to spend the extra $ (about $110, or so) for the 3 of us to go this year (again, on the first night). While we enjoyed the parade (and actually have the songs on a CD we are currently listening to in the car) and the fireworks were really great, I'm not sure if it's worth the extra money for that, and to get the bags of candy (which DD loves to get, but hardly eats). Of course, since we aren't paying for DDP, we could spend some of that saved money on MNSSHP. I'll just have to talk my DM into it!:rotfl2:
