"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2016 - Have Yourself a Very Mickey Christmas.

I agree about the current description, which clearly states fireworks at the tomorrowland terrace. I signed up too but a little worried about the view of the fireworks and seeing celebrate the magic...
I'm not sure I'd be too concerned. It states you have a preferred viewing area for the parade and same for the fireworks too!

We will be thinking long and hard about if the desert party would be worth it for our families time at one of the parties we are going to next year. I think when many of you go this year and come back with reviews and how much time you really did spend waiting around for things to happen.

this dessert party really seems like a lot of money to me. Is anything special offered during MCVMP to justify the increase in price?
I was considering it for the seating for my parents, but I really think it's too much to pay. I remember many tables having an obstructed view of the fireworks from the Terrace.

Does anyone have a better suggestion for snagging a bench or seat for my non-wheelchair 75-80 yr old parents who have limited mobility? I know my mother would love this parade but I'm having trouble figuring out the logistics. Thanks.

I think the difference between the regular dessert party and the holiday one (besides the Xmas themed desserts) is the reserved parade viewing in the old FP spot. this is the best selling point for me since I have an impatient 2 year old

Where is this old FP spot? The website keeps stating the flagpole in Town Square. Are there any benches at all in this area?

I got the same info about the flagpole area. I don't know if there are benches, haven't been to WDW since 2012... Sorry!

Do any of you know about the special, party-only Sorcerers of the MK cards given out during the party? They have them for both the Halloween and Christmas parties. My kids want to know what they are like, what makes them different (or is it just that they are only given out at the parties?), and are the same cards given at H'ween and Christmas?
For the uninitiated:

Hmm, maybe this blog entry answers at least part of my question? Olaf and Snowgies! ETA: Darn, looks like Olaf was for 2015 parties. Wonder what 2016 will bring?

ok, I didn't look at the blog so I am not sure what was answered, but I can tell you that they are different cards for the Halloween party and Christmas party. Halloween party card will be Halloween themed and the same for Christmas. That is what makes them different from the usual cards and they are only given out during the parties. However, if they have leftovers after the parties are finished they will give them out. We always go for the last 2 Halloween parties and the first Christmas party. Once the last MNSSHP was over they were handing them out with your regular pack for the day.

Some here have mentioned plastic cards/tickets for MVMCP in the mail. I booked our MVMCP a couple weeks ago and it's in MDE, but we do not have mail from Disney with cards/tickets. Should I worry?

Also, how early would I have to stake out a fireworks spot on Sunday, Dec 18? We are going for the parade and fireworks, but the cost of the party itself is all we can do - we can't add the dessert party also.

It took about 2 weeks for the party tickets to arrive. It should tell you estimated arrival at the time of your purchase.

This was on my receipt e-mail:

Items purchased, other than a Resort reservation or vacation package, will be shipped via U.S. Postal Service. You should receive them by May 19, 2016.

Ok, so we are going to WDW for Christmas. It's our family (me, DH,DS) and our best friends (43,43,S13,S5). There December 17-24.

We were considering MVMCP, but are really hopeful that there will be a Star Wars dessert party too. If there is a SW party, we will select that since everyone I'm our group is a SW fan.

Anyway, has anyone ever done both? Can you offer some comparison?
Do you think there will even be a SW dessert party? Dates for December aren't released yet.
Is there a specific December group? Seems like I remember there being a December thread last time we went.

TIA!

Not sure how you can compare MVMCP to SW dessert party. MVMCP lasts several hours, includes access to many rides, special character Meet & Greets, special parade, special fireworks, cookies and hot cocoa (included w/ price of admission), etc... The SW dessert party just includes food and a special place to watch the fireworks. They are vastly different events, each with their own positives and negatives. SW dessert party is cheaper, of course, so there's that.

We'll be there Dec 15-20. Was planning to do the 12-18 MVMCP but now thinking of doing the 12-16 instead. I know Fridays are supposed to be busier but since by the 18th a lot of schools will be out & it's the 2nd to last party of the year do you think there will be much difference crowd wise?

They will both sell out. Pick the one that better fits your touring plan.

We were at the MVMCP last year and got the "special" SofMK card. These cards are unique and only given out during the parties. I had forgotten about the card and we failed to get one during the party. The next day we went to the Firehouse and explained what happened. After we showed them our wristband (thankfully we still had it on!) they gave us each a card. My kids LOVE SofMK and were really excited to get it! Now sure if about MNSSHP, we didn't attend that one last year... :(

Has anyone ever done the "Dreaming of a Disney Holiday" in-room decoration thing from Disney Floral & Gifts? Is it worth it? This will be our first time to Disney during Christmas, and I wanted there to be some type of Christmasy spirit in the room. Thanks so much in advance!

We did in 2014. DD6 ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! We did too! :santa: I tried not the think about the price, just took the plunge. There wasn't a delivery fee to resort with this package. We were at WDW during Christmas & this was our 1st time away from home on Christmas. Wasn't sure about the whole Santa Claus thing & room being "Christmasy". We had it delivered on arrival day, last time slot available. We personalized the pillowcase & blanket. The Door Sash was awesome to see every time we returned to the room and cool to see while in the room. Treats were delicious. DD loved the Mickey & Minnie plushes. So enjoyed everything during our entire trip. IMO, totally worth it! :tinker:

Ok-random question time....
Really unsure if we should partake

Special trip for dh 50th
Won't be visiting at this time of year again
Love short lines
Hate huge crowds
We don't meet characters
Enjoy fireworks from a distance
Don't usually watch parades
