"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

We are at POP Century.:jumping1: I see you are at WL. That is such a beautiful resort! But POP is our Disney home:cloud9:. We always travel with some of our grandkids or one of our kids and their family so saving the money staying at POP lets us go more often and we get to stay longer:love:.

We won't get our tickets till we get there since our MVMCP tickets are replacements from a rained out MNSSHP tickets from this past September.
We were at Disney in September with our middle son and his family and had gone to the MNSSHP on their last night before they were leaving (hubby and I stayed 3 days longer). After about 7:30, it started FLOODING! Everything got canceled, all the parades, all the characters outside, all the outside trick r treat locations and then the party :worried: By the time we got to the bus, everyone was drenched and wading in water up to our mid calf. It was miserable. We thought we were just out the money for the party but as we were leaving, the CM's were telling everyone to see the concierge at your resort or customer service at MK. We were going to MK the next morning before our sons family had to be back to the resort to catch the ME for the airport so we stopped by customer service at MK that morning and they offered replacement tickets for any MNNSHP during our trip but since they were leaving I just explained that wasn't possible. They then asked if we were planning on coming back to Disney in 2015. I explained yes but not until November and they offered us replacement tickets for MVMCP. :worship: I was so grateful! I called last week to see how I needed to order my tickets and gave them a brief explanations on how I got the replacement tickets and they asked for my name and drivers license #. The CM said, yes ma'am, we have all your information here and explained to me that I just need to come to customer service with my drivers license on the date that we wanted to attend the party to pick up tickets :flower1: I asked what would happen if the party was sold out and they explained that even if they are sold out to the public, they can still provide tickets for replacement tickets so no worries. :thumbsup2
It actually rained continuously for the next 2 days we were there. We waded in calf high water down by the bus stops trying to get to the monorails trying to get to our Ohana ressie and then again the next day trying to get through the F&W. That is when I really appreciated our poncho's.

:wave2: Hello fellow TEXAN! We're about 60 miles northwest of Houston; will be in your "neck of the woods" this coming weekend for DGD's performances at the National Dance Convention. :dance3: OMG...I have never heard of calf high water at the MK! :faint: We had some "pretty good showers" fall on us last July when other DGD and her soccer team were at the Disney International Youth Soccer Tournament...only had ankle deep water at the CB. DD is a DVC member and needed to use her points for the year...WLV's were her first choice and she was called 2 days after she put her name on the wait list! Other DD and I (with 2 of the kids) WERE booked at All Star Music but she changed her mind, wanting to be close to her sister at the Villas...she was afraid we'd have delays meeting one another in the parks daily. SO...we're all at the Lodge and/or Villas. We'll have to try to meet up at the party; I'm ordering matching tee shirts for us (Mickey heat with antlers :goodvibes) and will try to remember to send you a photo when I receive the later. Would be fun to say "hi" :wave2: to a fellow Texas...and Disney fan! :tink:

If you get 3 FP with a party ticket, do you still get 3 FP with your regular ticket that day? I am planning on doing Animal Kingdom in the morning/afternoon then switching to MK with the party ticket around 5.

Just bought tickets for my son and I for December 6th! Super excited, it'll be our first time at Disney during the holidays. We are all about Christmas time!

I plan on doing AK in the morning too and debating whether or not to book FP+ for that morning or save them for the party that evening.

Well Hello Texas Disboard friend! :wave2: You must be close to Prairie View???? My daughters both played select softball and we were in the Houston and surrounding area's quite often! We are about 25 miles east of Dallas on an acre of land between Mesquite and Forney, Tx so not too far away!

The water was soooo scarey! It was actually ankle deep in the park and as we got closer to the bus stops and down by the area where the monorail empties down by the boat ramp it got higher and higher as the rain got harder and harder. The water was up over the curbs and it took the buses extra time to be able to maneuver through the bus stop area and then add ALL the buses trying to get in there, it was a nightmare!
Lucky you!!! WL would be my dream resort! But I will always choose a longer trip more often at POP than staying at a Deluxe. Now if someone wants to give me a trip to WL, I would sure take it!!!! Last year I won a trip to Disneyland on our local radio station and they put us up at the Disneyland Hotel! Oh WOW!!! What an amazing trip! :cloud9:
Your shirts sound darling! I can't wait for you to post them!
If we decide to do the Friday party instead of the Thursday party, it would be fun to meet up and say hi!!
I can let you know once we make our final decision!

Wow...never heard of water that deep! Must have rained REALLY hard! (I'm sending you a PM so we don't "bore others" :goodvibes with personal information. :rotfl:) :tink:

 We'll actually be close to your area to this weekend! Maybe we need a Dis-Meet! :rotfl: Wish we had enough free time to set one up but dance convention schedule is pretty tight...that would be fun! How exciting...DD FIRST TRIP! :cool1: I remember youngest (the dancer) DGD's first trip :lovestruc... that feeling you'll get when she see's the castle the first time will last with you forever! Her trip will NEVER be forgotten...we had to change departure plans OVER NIGHT when Hurricane Ike took a turn directly for Galveston/Houston area! :scared: What a task we had the afternoon before...changing flight plans for a "party of 11"! :faint: We ended up flying into Tampa and renting a car; DH had to come later (he was a County official at the time and member of the Emergency Management Team) but the rest of us made it to the Polynesian before noon. Quite a memorable trip for more reasons than we needed to deal with! Hopefully HER first visit will be magical! :tink:

Nope, only 3 FPs per day.

I plan on doing AK in the morning too and debating whether or not to book FP+ for that morning or save them for the party that evening.

You can't book FP for the actual party hours, but you can book them for 4-7.

TEXANS UNITE! YEHAW!!! :dance3:
I am just in between the Mesquite/Forney area so not too far! And work in Dallas!
Have a fabulous trip!

I made an ADR for 5pm at Ohana the day I was planning to go to the Christmas party, but it seems like 4-7 is valuable park time. Should I cancel that ADR and just grab a quick meal in the park or a late lunch instead?

I made a brunch ADR at Chef Mickey's for our party day. It was such great timing on that announcement!

We just purchased our MVMCP tickets for Dec 15! Super excited!! :jumping1:

We're staying at AKL, so we'll grab dinner at Boma before heading over.

I'm going on December 15th. I'm super excited as this will be my first Christmas in the World. We arrive that day have ADR at Be Our Guest and off to the Party. If everything lives up to the hype, this may become an annual trip.

Christmas is without a doubt a much different time in Disney world you will love it

Me too gotta see the tree at rockafella center!

The Rockefeller Center Tree and surrounding angels and decorations are awesome but getting through the streets can be a nightmare - you have tourists mixing in with workers/commuters just trying to walk by and get home, and lots of tempers rise due to lack of patience. :sad2:

Go on a weekday in and out no problem - worked every year I'm a NYer and I e learned that
