Sounds like you have a great plan!!!

Question of the Day:
Have you started and posted a Planning Journal or Pre-Trip Report? How about a pre-Dining Report? If you have, post it here!

No. I did one last time but this time I'm going a little less commando. We overdid it on our last trip. ADRs and park days along with hitting early morning EMH are all I'm "planning" this time.

We do LOTS of character meals as we have small children, and the characters will visit adults only tables unless the adults don't seem to want it. Last trip we went to 1900 Park Fare for dinner, and were seated next to a nice older couple. You could tell they didn't want characters to come over (weren't looking at them, etc), so none did, except the wicked stepmother, who made it a point to visit them and sit at their table. It was very cute! But I think as you are younger they will stop for sure, especially if you're looking at them and smiling, etc. I loved the character interaction at Garden Grill, I think you'll have a great time!

Thanks for the info! I'm excited. :goodvibes

Nope, I haven't ever done any pre-trip reports. I have barely started planning anything because we have to follow my brother around with his school but they don't plan, they just go wherever they want! It's going to kill me! Especially since I won't know when to plan our ADRs that I need to at the end of the month!

I do however like reading other's PTRs, I will check yours out now! :thumbsup2

Thanks! If you don't mind me asking, how do you get the chef's table at Jiko? I think that would be great on our honeymoon!

Well, it was more like the chef's bar, lol! I think we walked up for a table at Jiko and they offered to sit us at the bar in front of the chefs that made the flatbreads and some of the other specialties. There was no special menu or anything...just throughout our meal they would plop something in front of us to try. I think you can just ask to sit there if you want. It was fun!

I've never done a TR or a PTR. I'm afriad I wouldn't be able to finish it plus I'm not that entertaining of a writer! But I do enjoy reading everyones so I'm looking forward to checking yours out and anyone else on this thread that posts one!

Our fabulous server at Yachtmans Steakhouse Oscar made our last night at the YC very very special. He went out of his way to make my two children feel right at home, helped them with their menu choices, and talked soccer with DS.He even gave him some goalkeeping tips. He was funny and attentive, so much so when i got home i emailed the YC to tell them that they had a wonderful person working for them:goodvibes

I haven't really had too much interaction with cast members but when we took our trip in 2007 it was my brother's birthday and we were waiting on Main Street for the 3PM parade and my brother was wearing his button. One of the cast members noticed it and had everyone in our area sing him happy birthday. It was pretty cool.

I didn't interact with the guy, but in 2010 I dragged everyone to the animation studio because I'd read about it on here. We had this animator, I forgot his name, twice, but he was so incredibly fun. He was a great artist and he seemed like he was having such a great time. I am just going blank this morning, but I ended up writing him one of those recommendation/awesome job papers you can get at guest services with mickey mouse on it? I figure even though he didn't do anything special for me (except making it a lot of fun!), everyone deserves to be told thank you for doing their job every once in awhile.

Over the years, we have had a few awesome castmembers who went out of their way to make our day special. I think the most recent experience was when we were the first in line to see the Backlot Tour. My son had a stack of magic cards and was performing for the castmembers while we waited for the first show of the day to begin. He said to my son "you're 16 aren't you" while shaking his head up and down. My son caught on and said "Of course I am". which resulted in my son getting chosen to be a part of the show. It totally made our day. Here's the youtube video (My son is the one in the baseball cap who gets all the water dumped on him.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVfpAELJPMk

Woo Hoo! Just made our ADR's for our trip 5/7-5/14 staying at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge

5/7 California Grill with a dessert of Wishes (just before our real dessert) I love wishes from the roof. Our 24 wedding Anniversary dinner.
5/9 Spirit of Aloha haven't seen the show since our honeymoon in 1988
5/11 Raglan Road 7:30 just in time for the show and music
5/14 My mother's day meal with no kids!

On our last trip, which was my father's first trip - he got really ill from a cold/virus. Luckily, we had some extra time and had a taxi take him to a 24/7 clinic in Kissimee. We got back and there was a Mickey with a doctor office on, orange juice in the fridge, and a few fast passes for anyday at MK. Curious, I went to the front desk and it was the bellhop that actually did it for us! His name was Tim and we were staying a value resort. I of course made sure to speak with his manger and give him nothing but praise! He made a sickness much memorable then I would have ever expected!

I *think* I have my ADR's figured out now. This is my MIL's first time so I'm trying to base most of it around her. We'll also have a full kitchen in our room so I'm hoping we can make a few meals there to save a bit instead of eating everything in the parks.

Arrival Day 5/5 - TRex - I tried at 180 days for this ressie and the only times available were 5pm & 8pm, seriously!? I took the 8pm even though it's kinda late, I thought we might not arrive till 5. It'll be all of our first times at DTD.

5-6 - Epcot Future World Day - Garden Grill 4pm

5-7 - Hollywood Studios - I'm just planning on Pizza Planet for this day... DH is a big pizza person. I'm sure there will be a stop at Starring Rolls though :)

5-8 - Animal Kingdom - Boma breakfast - we ate here for dinner last week and I loved it... as much as I'd love to return for dinner, I think breakfast is better for our family to get more our money's worth :)

5-9 - Magic Kingdom - Chef Mickey's early breakfast (7:30 hoping) and then I'm surprising DH with parasailing afterwards :) This will be our "big" day with BBB & Pirates League appointments and hoping for Dessert party that night

5-10 - Epcot Word Showcase - Akershus breakfast - I'm going to have everyone wear yellow this day since it's MIL's favorite color. Dinner will be at Ohana's (we had breakfast here last time and loved it)... DH won't join us for dinner since he's such a picky eater though :(

5-11 - Magic Kingdom - I'm not positive yet but I'm hoping I can scrape enough money together to purchase the exotic driving experience for DH as a surprise. If we can do that, we'll do it in the morning sometime, then spend the day at MK and then at night we'll go to Beach Club where MIL & I will go to the Cape May Seafood Buffet... the kids and DH will go to Hurricane Hanna's for grilled cheeses.

I hope it's not too much for everyone. We're trying to keep costs down a bit but I still can't help myself sometimes :)

We had a funny cm checking our backpacks at MK, he told my DS 4 at the time that he was hungry and could he have his PBJ sandwich? DS said sure! :)

Dining opened up for me this morning! Got everything that I wanted!

Dinner: Liberty Tree (x2), Sprit of Aloha Show, Cape May, Via Napoli,
Hoop-Dee-Doo, Le Cellier, Cinderella's Royal Table, 1900 Park Far.

Breakfast: Crystal Place (x2)

Lunch: 50's Prime Time

Looks like we will be doing five or six quick service lunches (not really smart on Deluxe Dining, but I don't want to be eating huge meals all the time). Plus, I need to make 7 at Maya Grill for breakfast, but it won't let me.
