we've never been at this time either, always end of Jan, early feb before....I hear the same mixed info.....we just plan on having fun no matter what

Just an FYI for those of you staying at POP at the beginning of March. I just read that the Hippy Dippy Pool will be closed for refurbishment from 2/14 - 3/11. Guests may use the Computer pool or the Bowling pool.

We think we are "popping" into Pop for one night prior to our cruise on 3/9 (have yet to book it), so I guess we won't be enjoying the Hippy Dippy pool.

Wonder if it will be warm enough to swim in March at night???:confused3

Wow... tried to read through, but you guys have been going at it for months! :rotfl:

We're headed down the 1st week of March, and I couldn't be more excited! I can't believe its only like 6 weeks away. I need a trip counter to keep me honest...

We'll be staying at POP for the first time. Only our second time on property. (We stayed at All Star Sports before.) I'm WAY behind on research and stuff this year. I looked at crowds, etc. when I booked, but haven't really revisited it yet.

Hoping I can benefit from all your guys' knowledge on here!

Thanks we'll be there... might influence my room request...

Yeah, it might not be an issue for me, because we won't get there before dinner time anyway. Of course, I hope it will be warm, but once the sun goes down, I don't know that many would want to swim. Of course, we have been known to swim when others deemed it too cold. ;) We're used to cold, so it doesn't seem as cold to us. Our bodies think 65 is pretty warm! Plus, they do heat the pools.

I doubt we'll use the pools much, but I was thinking about if they were making noise w/ the refurb during the day. We've never gone back to the rooms, but DS2 might need a nap, and he won't go down if there's too much noise.

All girls trip March 3rd-11th....WooHoo!! we are staying one night at Pop Century then the rest of the time at Wyndham Bonnet Creek!

Here's some thoughts on this week I put in another thread:

The first week in March is great, we've been there at least 8 times since 1999, moderate crowds, highs in the mid 70s, 80s not uncommon and little rain. This year the Flower& Garden thing starts early with free concerts in WS and ESPN Weekend is on at DHS, but the actual rides and attractions are not negatively affected. As March goes on, crowds built to a peak at Easter.

The refurb on Pop? It's finished. They are building the Art of Animation resort, but it shouldn't be too loud at Pop. Maybe you should request a room further from the lake to insure that you don't hear construction noise.

I had to switch my dates based on airfare...there was almost a $600 difference ! I'm always trying to save money one way or another and this will work out best for us in the end.

It's predicted about an average of 5/10 for crowd levels the week we are going. For me that is even less than what it was when we went in the Summer of 09 which really wasn't that bad as far as crowds go. Bottom line is to plan, plan, plan! And get there early to take advantage of FastPasses. I'm sure we'll all have a GREAT trip no matter what though!!!!

Staying at POR, 3/10-3/17!!! ....first time ever staying this many days....looking for any and all tips!!
:woohoo::woohoo:

Well, I was finally able to re-schedule Le Cellier for our trip!!! I originally had an ADR (when the 180 day opened), then cancelled it. DH really wanted to eat there and I have been trying all week to get a lunch time, and finally early this morning something opened. Now to figure out what other ADR to cancel.

Looks like we have several more Louisiana folks joining us!!!

Lilandvisma... we may run into you... we are at CBR mar 30 - apr 6

and we had to do the same thing... book around low airfares. I think the crowds will be ok, at least manageable!!!

Hi everyone! So excited to be almost there...

I was a bit surprised to see that the crowds are projected to be 9s most days we're there--don't get me wrong; I'm no stranger to crowds, having made numerous trips Christmas week and our most recent trip being Easter week of last year--but since our week (March 13-20th) is nowhere near Easter this year, I was expecting a little lower. Like 7s or 8s. Is it really just because spring breaks in general start that week? It seems a bit suspect to me that the parks would be only a bit less crowded that week than they will be Easter week. I know some schools will be off, and colleges, but it can't be anywhere near the number of schools that are off for Easter.

Thoughts?

We'll be at CSR March 12-19. Can't wait to take my sister & her family with us for their 1st trip to Disney!!! We're also surprising the kids with a stay at the Nick Hotel the night before our Disney vacation starts.
