*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

Hi Everyone!

I just discovered this thread and would love to join.
Name: Amy
Travel Dates (if known): June 20 - 28 (driving, so leaving the 19th)
Where Will You Be Staying?:Windsor Hills condo
Travel Party: Me (of course!) my DH, DD13 and DS10
Current Location: Wisconsin
Favorite Disney Character: Snow White or Daisy
Favorite Disney Movie: Monsters Inc.
How Many Trips?: 8
On-Site or Off?: some of each
What do you look forward to most on your next trip? I love the planning almost as much as the trip. We drive down and I always look forward to that time with the kids (it really is fun - honest:) As far as WDW goes, I love doing rope drop at MK on our first day and seeing the opening show.

Hi Amy! :wave2: Glad to have you join us! We like to see the opening show at MK too! And hopefully by June we'll be heading straight to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train!

I guess I should officially join this thread too!

Name: Colleen

Travel Party: Me, DS: 10 (turning 11 while we are there), DD: 7, DD: 5....plus my cousin who lives there and joins us pretty much daily

Travel Dates: June 23 - July 2

Favorite Disney Character: Daisy

Favorite Disney Movie: It's gotta be Frozen...and Cinderella

How Many Trips?: 10 (1989 (June), 1996 x2 (both in March), 1998 (July), 2000 (DL - July), 2001 (December), 2011 (June), 2012 (July), 2013 x2 (March & May/June)

On-Site or Off?: On for all but the first 1996 trip.

Best Disney Story: Wow...best good or best worst? Ha! Last year, we went on a combine WDW/Cruise trip with 13 family members. We had everyone from age 4 to almost 84. We had the time of our lives! In 12 days, we had a trip to a walk-in clinic which resulted in a shot for my 4 year old, spent 3 days at MK, spent 1 day at Epcot and HS (including a ride on ToT with the 4 AND almost 84 year old), celebrated 2 birthdays (we had to leave the day of AK and the 3rd bday), endless ice cream cones, 2 girls made into princesses at BBB, 4 nights on the dream, and endless magic and memories!

Favorite Disney Picture: Can't post a pic, but it's that picture I take every time we are driving under the Disney World sign!

What do you look forward to most on your next trip? Besides just being there and enjoying WDW with my kids and cousin, I am looking forward to celebrating DS's 11th bday at Disney!

Hi Colleen! We're glad you're here! We just saw Frozen over the holidays and what a great movie it is!

Thanks for the warm welcome. :goodvibes

I guess I missed the part where I was supposed to answer the questions. :) So I did that below. Looking forward to getting to "know" all of you!

Name: Amy C.

Travel Party: Me and DH.... if we end up with a foster child by then, that would be a lot of plan switching, but possibly an added person

Travel Dates: June 25 - July 4, POFQ

Favorite Disney Character: Eeyore

Favorite Disney Movie: Aladdin and Cinderella

How Many Trips?: (see signature)

On-Site or Off?: A mix... but always onsite with DH

Best Disney Story: (going for worst here...) First trip, I was 9. We drove down for Christmas. I had the flu then my brother got it. We spent Christmas day watching the parade on TV at the hotel! My parents saved for years for that trip.... kids ruin everything! :) But, I'll never forget that trip either. The first day we did go to the parks, we had winter coats, hats, and gloves. On the third day, it was 90 degrees. There were signs everywhere telling us that Jack Frost had killed the flowers. Probably the best trip ever!

Favorite Disney Picture: I'd have to look it up, and I don't have it on this computer. But, it is a photo of my husband and I taken by a photopass Photographer on the bridge by the castle at night. It is so beautiful, and it looks like a professional photo.

What do you look forward to most on your next trip? Seeing the new Fantasyland. It was just starting last time we were there. :woohoo:

Still have to find airfare for us too. Any suggestions on an airline to use flying from the west coast? The last time I flew was before 911. And I haven't been back east since I was 14.

This year we are planning a Roller Coaster Challenge. We will try to ride all the coasters in one day. We are adding Test Track in on that day.
Here is the order we think we will try (On a Sunday) Expedition Everest, Rockin Roller Coaster, Tron Test Track, MK coasters.....Any advice on it??

I am canceling a BOG ADR for 6/22 @ 4pm if anyone is interested. I was able to snag a later time. :)

I've had good luck with Southwest. It's a bit of a cattle car in the sky, but the prices are very reasonable. Also, more and more of their flights have free WiFi which really helps keep people occupied. They also have a much friendlier baggage policy than most other airlines.

If you haven't flown since pre-9/11, don't forget to check the TSA website (http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information) to see all of the current rules and regulations.

Thank you. I was sort of leaning towards Southwest. And yes, I do need to catch up on current regulations. On top of that, I now need to fly with an epi pen. :worried:

I love the planning almost as much as the trip. We drive down and I always look forward to that time with the kids (it really is fun - honest:)

I believe you. I always loved car trips with my parents. Of course that usually meant I got time to sit and read for 2-3 days and no laundry/chores. Plus we ate out a lot. We hardly ever did at home.
