*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

I just read a trip report where a lady had over 60 (custom made) dresses between her 3 daughters in a 9 day trip. And I'm over here just like "Maybe I'll just pack 2 outfits and do laundry...."

Or just buy new clothes when you get there... :rotfl:

Ok, then. We will definitely make a point to see it.

Today was my last day of school! No kids today. Just cleaning. I packed my entire preschool room and put it in the closet because a group is renting our rooms over the summer. I'm so glad I don't have to think about school anymore and I can concentrate on getting ready for WDW. 19 days to go!

Yesterday was my last day, too! I was able to get everything cleaned up the day before, since Seniors didn't have to come to school. All I had to do was a little paperwork, shut down computers, and get signatures on things. And then I waited for a friend to get through...offered to help a couple of times, but she either didn't hear me or didn't want help, so I still wound up leaving later than I had planned and we still didn't go get lunch together. But, it's done, and I have two months to relax, plus all that other stuff.

Next up: Conference next week where I am a presenter -- Hey, Alabama teachers! Anyone going to AETC???

My kids were done last week and then we had cleaning this week. Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I agreed to work part time this summer. Two weeks into the summer program I'm leaving for Disney...we'll see how it goes.

I got my new camera bag this week and I did a dry run with everything I want to take into the parks with is and I think it's gonna all fit with some room to spare! Especially with water, it may be a little heavy so DH & I will probably share it throughout the trip! 16 days!

We check into AoA today!!:-D Just some final packing and taking the pets to the boarding facility left to do! We would usually get all that done Friday night and be on the way early, but two of my DDs have play rehearsal for our community theater production of Mulan, Jr, and DH is fishing in a fundraiser tournament for Wounded Warrior Project ( he will not join us until after dinner). So we are making it a low key day: check-in, unpack, pool, food court. Tomorrow is MK all the way with bkfst at Crystal Palace and dinner at BOG!! So F-U-N!!

Yay! We're on our way to AoA in a few weeks and I am so excited!! Have a great time!

I was a presenter too (for the first time) in April at an early childhood conference. It was fun but glad I did it before school was out. It involved more than two long tables of examples for activities to strengthen fine motor, pre-writing, and literacy skills. That was a lot of prep and clean up! Good luck at your conference!

DH used to work summer school but now we just take summers off. Sometimes he'll go to workshops or curriculum meetings in the summer if it pays enough.

Fun! I'm interested to hear more as your trip goes on.

Congrats to everyone on their way out! I didn't even know they had a Mulan Jr. though I've seen Aladdin Jr. before.

We've hit a possible snag in our own trip. Two people walked out on DSis' work which means they're updating schedules weekly instead of monthly. She DID have the time off before this but now anything can happen. Another girl also needs the same weekend off to be in a wedding so we're just up here hoping for some early pixie dust. There's not a lot of RNAs in this town willing to work third shift. I've got a hopeful feeling things will turn out okay.

Leaving on Monday morning for an offsite hotel and Downtown Disney that evening, then switching over to Pop Tuesday morning before heading to MK rope drop.

I'm excited, but getting nervous now. I'm in that last-minute stage of "What have I forgotten to do?"

.

This one is a state-sponsored educational technology conference. This is my 3rd year presenting, although the last two was as a co-presenter. This year, I actually submitted my own presentation -- a hands-on, bring your own device session (not only will I get in the conference for free, but for a hands-on workshop, I actually get PAID! $75 for an hour and a half really isn't bad....) I really look forward to this conference. The friend I go with and I have an absolute blast every year.

Super excited for everyone who is heading out! Our trip is 2 weeks from today and I'm already looking into 2016! :rotfl:

A little over 20 days left including....
1 week of school
Cousin 1's 21st bday
Cousin 2's graduation and party
Being interviewed by grad student

It feels like it is DRAGGING!!

Plus I will plan my trip wardrobe then change my mind!!

School's out for me, too. (Our teacher day was yesterday.) We are about 3 hours away from WDW in a hotel for the night. Tomorrow is D Day. (Disney Day). Eight days at AoA Cars Suite with DH and DS5. See you all there!!

Yeah for a little more spending money at WDW! Hope it goes well!

SO CLOSE now! :yay:

Today is cat briefing day for my friend who will be staying here while I'm away. My boy cat has been very clingy the last few days, knows I'm abandoning him for a bit but he'll be fine, he can stand on someone elses head at 4am in an attempt to get breakfast. :rolleyes1

So today, key cutting, a couple basic bits the flat needs like coffee because I'm nice like that and general excitement! Oh and one last dark wash.

My husband's been working at the fire in Arizona and he'll be home tomorrow night!! :woohoo: SO excited, I feel like our vacation begins when he gets home!!! We actually leave on Wednesday for Florida but I need the extra time to catch up with packing and prepping since he's been gone. :laundy:

I'm not usually someone who posts like this but I figured if anyone would understand my excitement, you lovely people would!

Let the good times begin!!:cheer2:

So we are HERE at WDW! Got in later than expected, so DS8 and I just hung at the pool, while my DDs headed out to DHS--they reported spotting many Star Wars characters but did not queue up as the lines were too long! At check in, we had a couple Magic Band issues: DD16 wasn't on our res. at all and had been dropped from all the FPs we had booked, and (didn't find this out til later at the food court) my band was keyed as a child's and had no charging privileges! It took about 20 min to fix the first issue and 30 seconds to resolve the latter. So no worries!:-) A note to anyone staying here at AoA with picky eater kids, they stop serving the usual kid stuff at 4pm, i.e. chicken nuggets, pulled pork sandwiches. The dinner menu is more sit down stuff, like drumsticks, tandoori chicken, pastas, and salads.
