Bad news: I think my oldest cat has died. She's 17 years old and is generally an indoor cat. Sometimes she sneaks out and lays on the deck. She can't jump or climb anymore so the 6 foot fence keeps her in. Well, she is not in the house anywhere and she is not answering our calls. The dog has alerted at the barn (shed), but we can't get under there. I am hoping hoping hoping that she somehow got through a wood slat and ended up in a neighbor's garage. On top of her age, she has some dementia and incontinence. Did not sleep good at all because I kept doing checks--where can a cat hide?
Meanwhile, DH's grandmother was taken to the hospital again last night. They believe another stroke. She is 91 years old and has Parkinsons and congestive heart failure. She fell a couple of weeks ago and broke her shoulder so she has been in nursing home for some rehab.
We are expecting the worst in both cases.
But also accepting that life must go on.
FelineVintage--Our younger cat was also feral. Her mother was killed by some dogs and DD raised her. Little girl was 4 weeks old when she came to live with us. She is now 12 years old, but no one believes we have a second cat. It takes alot for her to come out and say hello. She tends to get on the bed with visitors while they are sleeping and leave a tuft of fur by their faces.
Enjoy your trip over here!
