*****Official (??) June 2014 Thread -- Party Like It's Hot!*****

3 weeks to go! Got our bands in the mail yesterday. Such a nice display box!!! I wasn't expecting that. Originally we'd planned to fly in Wednesday morning and start the parks that day but then I decided to fly us in on Tuesday evening - some added an extra night on site (our other nights are offsite using my Hilton rewards) . I'm so glad we booked the onside room and got the opportunity to use 60 day FP booking. I just looked at what might have been available at the 30 day window and wow....serious slim pickings!!

Have fun counting down, everyone!

Celebrate, it's finally June! Enjoy your trips, I know I will. 20 days to go!

I was a presenter too (for the first time) in April at an early childhood conference. It was fun but glad I did it before school was out. It involved more than two long tables of examples for activities to strengthen fine motor, pre-writing, and literacy skills. That was a lot of prep and clean up! Good luck at your conference! DH used to work summer school but now we just take summers off. Sometimes he'll go to workshops or curriculum meetings in the summer if it pays enough.

I also presented at an early childhood conference in April! You're out in CA though, right? So it wasnt the same conference I'm sure :)

I figured if I'm gonna work during the summer, I should do it before we have kids and the opportunity came and I bargained with them to not work full time the WHOLE summer, so I'm working 2 days a week. I believe we have 8 kids so far so it shouldn't be too bad.

2 weeks from today I will be celebrating my birthday in Epcot! We leave here in T- 13 days! The only things left to do are start the summer program and my cousin's bridal shower and then it will practically be time to head south! Yay!

This is going to be the longest week on record. I'm so excited for the FOTK news, though! We just need to get our oldest through finals week and my backlog cleared at the office.

My husband was laughing at me because I am packing a bag for our dogs to bring to the kennel. After spending far too much on new toys for them. ("Are you going to buy them souvenirs? If you buy them souvenirs you are officially insane.")

I got a FotLK FP for June 5th. Not sure if we'll need it, but I LOVE that show and can't tell you how happy I am that it's open again! Such a nice bonus for all of us Juners!

Leaving tomorrow. Kind of nervous and feeling silly for it, but I know we'll have a wonderful week.

I was having thoughts of buying my puppy a souvenir. There used to be a store DTD that had pet items (I think). I could bring him a plushie, too. He carries his around and chews on them, yes, but not to the point of destroying them. I bought him a small teddy bear for Valentine's, and he's still carrying it around. Love is when he shows up to greet you at the door with one of his toys.

Oh, another presenter! Yes, mine was here in California. Two days a week isn't bad. Our preschool (part of a bigger school) is thinking of starting a summer program next year but I've already said I don't want to do summers.

Only 17 days until we leave! And I have so much to do. I'm looking forward to Monday so I can NOT go to work! :rotfl2:

In '07 I bought my dog new water/food bowls and a mat at POP for wayyy too much $, and after a couple months they went from being white with pink writing to pink all over. I don't think the dog cared though! :p

And what is wrong with being our animal babies a souvenir? We bought our dog a red bandana that said "My family went to Walt Disney World and all I got was this bandana." It had Pluto on it. He loved it! But then again, he really likes his clothes.

I used to think it was odd to put clothes on animals...Until our former dog was given a rain coat. Our buddy now has sweaters, sweatshirts and Halloween costumes. DS3 tries to pick matching clothes for his dog. "Like me!" But I don't think the dog and child should be dressed the same.

So today is the first of June! Hip hip hooray!

Our dogs would just destroy anything we brought back, lol. We just get them some real marrow bones and they are happy!

If you want to meet A&E they've expanded the meet & greet and added more FP+. I just looked on the app, curious if I could get one and I got one for June 19 no problem...not sure if I'm gonna keep it, I'm not sure if DH really cared to meet the princesses, but thought I would share.

I thought it was silly, too... however, our PomChi doesn't like the cold and seems to love her sweaters. I have tried to convince mom to get her a dress or something every so often, but she says no.

Thank you for the heads up! Just added it to our first day. It's a pretty late time but who cares, I don't have to stand in line for 3 hours and my daughter is going to be ecstatic! I just wasn't going to tell her they were there! Ha!

Also, has anyone tried the chocolate glass slipper at CRT? I'm thinking about ordering it but wanted a review.

Thanks for the heads up! A&E are high on our Meet & Greet list, but we've already got three mountains in the morning at MK and I just don't know if I want to sacrifice them and our possibility of a 4th/5th FP+ just to meet them around/after 5pm. Maybe we'll get lucky while we're at the parks? :confused3 It's our friend's (probably) only trip and I know she's more interested in the rides, meanwhile DSis and I will likely be back sometime to meet the Frozen sisters. I really miss legacy FastPass.

Hah, same here. They're knuckleheads, but I'm going to miss them.

At any rate, they're all packed. Now I have to finish packing for the two-legged beasties at our place!

I don't think they sell pet stuff anymore... or if they do, they brought it back since our last visit. when we first went, we got stuff for my parent's cat. We have since gotten a dog and soooo wanted to get him stuff last time, but there was nothing. it was so sad.

We are leaving Thursday for our Friday check in and I just took another look at the crowd calendar and was curious for others who typically go during this time. Easywdw has 9s for our trip and Touring plans have 6s & 7s. We are there Friday-Tues. Anyone know which is more likely? I'm hoping for the lower obviously...I don't think I would have ever pulled the trigger on this trip if I would have seen 9's before! Little scared...

I think that pet store is no longer there.

I do t have experience with this time of year, but i tend to believe Touring Plans over the other sites. They have literally over 20 years of data to back their numbers up.

I dont buy souvenirs for our pets but I do worry abou them when we are away. Tried using a pet sitter last couple of vacations. It worked for the short trips but for the long ones they knew we weren't coming back and were terribly mischievous! Like getting the 5 lb bag of kitty food from the pantry and chowing down! The kennel where we left them this time has 24hr staff, webcams, TV in the cat's room, and a doggie pool!:-)

My moglets are spending the fortnight with my friend. She's moving in while I'm away so their routine stays exactly as they're used to. I have even left her warnings not to pander to my boy as he's a naughty devil when he thinks he should have something.

My youngest was a feral and it's taken nearly two years of work to get her to love being fussed by me but she will have nothing to do with any other humans. I'm hoping she gains a little bit of confidence in that respect having someone else here for two weeks. No-one but me has ever seen her in the flesh!

This morning I had an extra set of keys cut for aforementioned friend (and met a lovely beagle in the key cutting shop) and have put on the final wash so I can chuck a couple of last minute bits in the case but otherwise I am ready to go.

Tomorrow will be housework before I go day and online check-in for my flight. Today can not go by fast enough!
