we used to stay in different place each time - Beckley, Washington PA, some city just before Beckley etc but since we found out DH gets good deals with the hotel he works for we've planned it out.

this year we're going via Virginia and staying in Richmond first - mil said they used to take that route down to bipass most of the mountians since they used to go in the winter and snow and mountians don't go together very well.

so were staying in Richmond for a few days then Savannah then WDW. on the way home we're staying later then normal and hitting the same hotel in Savannah then somewhre in PA for the second night - it'll only take us about 7 hours that third day to get home.

You are on my route coming home - we are in Pittsburgh - Beckley is about 5 hours away. I just hate going through West Virginia - it seems to take forever!! Ok, so where do you stay in Savannah? We have stayed in Walterboro twice on the way down - that is a nice stop, but we are hoping to make it further south this trip. On the way back, we usually make it to north of Charlotte - Mooresville. Last trip, we made it to Hillsville, VA though and then it was only a 6 hour trip home.

I'm starting to worry a little bit too about the planning! I thought "Oh when school is out I'll have so much time..." DD takes a 2 hour nap everyday which is when I was going to be organizing and planning and getting on the computer. Well, I forgot (ha) that DH works at home and he is using the desk all day! What's a girl to do?
This week, I'm going to try bringing the laptop down while we all eat lunch and then eat lunch during naptime. That'll at least give me a half hour to organize and then during naptime I can do stuff.

Can't complain though, too much. Playing with a 2yo all day and not wearing mascara for 5 days straight ain't all bad...

Here's a question for everyone:
What's the most important thing you've ever FORGOTTEN to do or bring and how did you manage without it?

Yes it starts on a Thursday. I know this, because it starts on the day I get back from vaca! At least I'll only have to DVR one episode. Last summer, my DVR was FILLED with BB! Between 3 episodes a week and 3 additional hrs each night, after two weeks, I think it was seriously full! Good thing I didn't have HD yet or there is no way my DVR would have held it all!

Yes, hopefully it will help with the post-trip depression. They usually do the vote-off of Thursday nights so I'm sure it'll start with the first HOH comp.

The girls and I were at Old Navy by 7:15. I would say there were maybe 15-20 other women shopping. It was a nice mellow trip to the store. The salesperson enforced the five tank rule. I explained that there were three of us and asked if she could just ring out all together. She was reluctant, so I said, well, you can always ring us up three times...They also gave me a $5 off coupon, so we made
out really well. It wouldn't have been worth it for me if we didn't go early.


Beth, I can't think of anything "important" that we forgot. I forgot saline for my contacts on my honeymoon. I had to pay like $15 for a $2 bottle.

That is the WORST! Once I forgot sunscreen for DH and had to buy a very overpriced small bottle in the resort gift shop. They really know how to get you!

July 13-19th WL It was going to be Me, DH and our 3 DD's but DH was told he has to go to training in CO all during the time our trip was planned. He told me to go but take someone in his stead so I called my Little Sister who I havent seen since I was 16 and she's going to be going with us! I have our bags packed and re-packed (I forgot I could get more room in a suitcase if I rolled clothes as opposed to folding them!). I've been working on getting things for the kiddo's to do on the planes. Starting this Tuesday, I'm going to print out my cards for CM's who do great jobs and getting my tip envelopes decorated for mousekeeping. My older 2 girls have one week and 2 days left of school before they are out for the summer.

The only thing missing will be the online check-in docs. But those will be with me, as I put the binder in my suitcase.

I ordered 2 tie dyed shirts from someone a DISer recommended and she just sent me a picture of them!! I am so excited to wear that red, white and blue one on the 4th!!!

He won't give me any input and says whatever I do will be fine, but I bet he complains later about what we are going to do when. I have a spreadsheet done with all the plans, another one with all our ADR confirmation numbers and times. I have FP rides written down and which ones we have to do on which days. I know you can't plan for everything but I just like to make good use of my time. 35 more days to go!

Ok, I need some opinions, again I gave up on moving to Beach Club or Poly....I don't want DH to be uncomfortable financially and AKL should be great! So we talked today and here's what we're debating. Adding another night would be the exact equivalent to moving from savanna view to pool view. Soooo.....what would you do?

Savanna view for 5 nights
Pool view for 6 nights

Adding the extra night would mean one more chance for MK PM EMH which are our favorite! But the savanna view.....?

You are so funny! I am totally the same way...."But what if we do this instead?" I don't know....pool view over Savannah? I've never stayed at AKL so keeping that in mind, I feel like if I'm not getting Savannah view what is the point? On the other hand, an extra day in the park is VERY useful, especially in July!

I would totally go for the pool view. When I booked our reservations, I considered if I wanted to use more points for savanna. I decided no: (1) we might not be in our room when the optimal animal viewing time is. (2) there are tons of places to see the animals (3) I like looking at the pool.

This decision is made so easy to me because it isn't all money - it translates to an additional day.

I have heard others say that it isn't worth staying there without a savanna view. I can't imagine that it would be that dramatic of a difference. I think seeing the animals from your balcony is neat, but it isn't the reason I am drawn to the resort.
