Yes! We couldn't get the flights we wanted from Scotland so driving to Manchester the day before we fly!

It's fine on the way out but on the way home you always land very early morning after a very long flight which we never sleep on (no idea why but I just can't sleep for any length of time on a flight) and then have a 4 and a bit hour drive back home whilst trying to stay awake - not good!

I hear you. We travel over often, landing in the morning and I can NEVER sleep on the plane! That's a long drive after your flight!

Wow I was last on here less than 12 hours ago and had to read through 3 pages!!!

My parents are over and we are all excited about Disney in a few weeks!! My mom talked to her friend in Boca (one of the people we are visiting before Disney) and made official plans with her when we stay in Boca for a few nights!!! She's very excited to see all of us. DH and I were there 2 years ago with the boys, before we went to Disney, but my mom hasn't seen her in 12 years! They speak on the phone at least once a week but haven't seen each other in a while and both of them are so excited!!

The boys are watching Toy Story right now, and we're just relaxing. I started to do some cleaning today and made a to-do list. I feel much better and slightly less overwhelmed now! Park touring plans are 99% set now!! I have been working hard on them all week...OK, it's not really work when you are feeling like this as you do the work: :cloud9::banana::woohoo::goodvibes

That's so nice that your mom will get to see her friend! My mother in Ohio has a friend in Vero who she rarely sees and last time we took my mom down we had a wonderful time with her friend! They rented scooters for Epcot and made us laugh the entire time - what a hoot!

Tinkerbell, it's me again. I kind of feel bad about telling you that we again changed our resorts, but then after thinking about it, can't help smile about where we are staying!!!!

We are now at YC, the BC was still not available. I'm sure the CR would have been very nice, and I will stay there one day, but just not during the summer.

:banana::banana::banana:

Thank you for reminding me that the Toy Story 'marathon' was on!!!! :worship::worship:

Oh, and I went to Michael's today and bought little gem stickers to put on my manicure and pedicure when we go to make Mickey heads (just on one or two, not on all fingers and toes! ;) ) I practiced and it looked cute!!! Anything to pass the time :rotfl:

Are you staying with the 20/30/40 PIN? That would help ease my mind because I really wanted to move to the Beach Club, but if it's not available then I won't have to worry ;)

Yes I am. All that was available with the pin at BC was a water view and maybe Club Level. So I figure at least we would be right next to the BC and can take advantage of their places to eat as well at SAB!!!

Awesome!! I've always loved the Yacht Club too! Congrats :) :)

It's a wonderful location, whether you are at BC, YC or BW. We're going to be at BWV and we will be visiting BC and YC to eat! Doing a dinner at Captain's Grille, a dinner at Cape May and also a breakfast at Cape May! :thumbsup2 Funny thing is, I don't know if we will be eating at BW at all! Isn't that funny? I wasn't all that thrilled with the menu at Kouzzina, Big River and ESPN don't take ADRs, Flying Fish is a signature restaurant and we're not ready to take the kids to one of those yet (and my little one is only 3, so no kids' club for him in order for DH and I to go alone)...the only one we'll go to is BW Bakery, but probably not for a meal, just for some baked goods as snacks!! ;)

When we bought the DVC membership, we were set on either BCV or BWV. BWV was less money per point (bought resale), and had standard view villas which are fewer points to stay in than the villas at BCV, so we decided on BWV. We just really wanted that location. It's right in the middle of the entire property, and you can't beat the walk to Epcot's WS, as well as close proximity to DHS!!! I'm sure you will LOVE your stay at YC! :)

Me, when we get to BWV: :yay:

Thanks for the resort advice. I know it's silly, but I'm just worried I won't love it because all the pictures I've seen are of a big dirt area with very little grass and, well, it's a savanna, but I don't find it 'beautiful' by any means. I think I'm just nervous that everything won't be perfect...I do that sometimes :rotfl:
I totally get it. Trust me--I thought it was the worst thing ever to get the Uzima Savannah (Arusha is the one everyone raves about here on the DIS, it seems. On top of that, we overlooked what some here call a People Pen (it's a fenced-in area outdoors on the savannah--used as an evacuation area in case of fire, so people can be safe from animals(or animals safe from people)). But really, you never noticed it at all and the view of the giraffe, zebras, and many other animals was incredible. I think it's a must-do if you can. That said, I am not interested in goin back anytime soon. Not that I don't want to ever, but there are so many other resorts we want to try. We are not repeaters.

I was checking out the TGM site at the suggestion of some of the posters and had looked at several different pages on the site. I clicked on the "Take A Tour" link so I could get a better understanding of what I would get for my $21.95 and my Symantec Endpoint Virus Protection immediately went crazy - it picked up a Trojan Horse virus as well as a Trojan Malscript html and quarantined both files (THANK GOODNESS). This is a brand new computer from work (last week) with the most up-to-date virus protection. It would not let me do anything with that page and shut it down. BE CAREFUL!!!!

I wanted to do my itinerary with TGM but now I'm afraid to go back to the site. :sad1:
Yikes! Mike posted on FB that the site was hacked yesterday. I'm sure they'll have it taken care of ASAP.

I need positive Dis vibe on Monday at 9am. I'm being interviewed to teach at a private school in Montreal. And I really want the job. Please think of me ;)
You got it!:wizard::wizard::wizard:

We went to Kohl's today to buy new luggage. Now that the kids are getting a little bigger they can't share one little suitcase anymore and since we are staying in Disney for 10 days instead of 5 this year, we need more space! I was so happy to get a 5 piece luggage set regulary 179.00 on sale for 79.99. Then we had a $20 Kohl's cash left over and a 30% coupon so we got the whole set for $37.00 after tax. Yippee!!!! I am so excited to start packing. We still have 36 more days before we leave but I just want to start packing now. Would that be nuts??? :upsidedow
I just love some the deals I get at Kohl's. Great shopping!
Yes, I know! I was planning on going but decided against it. Everyone I heard from said it was crazy and one person said their store had sold out. So I went to the shopping center that Old Navy is in because I needed to go to AC Moore and it was NUTS! Some B actually HIT my car!! She didn't even stop! I pulled around to try to find her but I couldn't. Luckily, there is no visible damage so or else I would have been on a hunt!!

People are crazy for a good sale!
Those ON sales scare me. People just go insane--totally not worth it to me.

Thank you for reminding me that the Toy Story 'marathon' was on!!!! :worship::worship:

I did that lasst year on my big toes--got some little gems from Hobby Lobby and stuck to my red polish, then painted clear-coat over the top. I got tons of comments/compliments on them. Still have the gems so plan on doing it again this year--it looks great with my Mickey toe ring.:)

I can't believe someone hit your car and drove away! Thank goodness there was no real damage, but still!

well - i just finished making all our hotel reservations for the drive down.

last year i lost my wallet and all my credit cards on the first day we arrived and we only had 1 of dh's with us which had to use for everything including our cruse and hotels on the way back.

i ended up getting my wallet and everything back 4 or 5 days later but i had already cancelled all my cards.

our last night driving home we had run out of room on dh's card and were searching for change to get to be able to pay for a room because we just coulnd't drive through the night.

we knew how much we had left to pay for tolls and gas (thanks to writing everything down on our trip down so we knew exactly how much we had left.

this year i've already put envelopes aside with the total amount for every hotel we'll be staying in.

what a horrible feeling to know you've run out of money and are still about a 9 hour drive away from home.

That would be very scary - and frustrating!! Where do you stop on the way down? We are hoping to get an early start, we usually drop the dog at the kennel at 9am and then start, but I convinced DH to drop the dog the night before. I would love to get on the road by 7am. If we could make 12-13 hours our first day, the next day would be a breeze.

We watched Toy Story here too!! This thread is really busy.

Not a problem! I changed it on page 150. I actually like the YC a LOT. The rooms all have a full size balcony, it is closer to the boat dock, and you still get to use SAB.

we used to stay in different place each time - Beckley, Washington PA, some city just before Beckley etc but since we found out DH gets good deals with the hotel he works for we've planned it out.

this year we're going via Virginia and staying in Richmond first - mil said they used to take that route down to bipass most of the mountians since they used to go in the winter and snow and mountians don't go together very well.

so were staying in Richmond for a few days then Savannah then WDW. on the way home we're staying later then normal and hitting the same hotel in Savannah then somewhre in PA for the second night - it'll only take us about 7 hours that third day to get home.

Wow, less than 3 weeks for you, so exciting!! Don't worry about your suitcase...it is very easy to find luggage last minute!

Is it just me or.........

I feel very overwhelmed all of a sudden about everything I need to get done before our trip now that it only a few weeks away. Still finalizing park touring plans, I really REALLY have a LOT of house cleaning to get done before we leave too. Since I was laid up last week when my back went out, I have gotten so far behind on cleaning. I was planning to clean out the bedroom closet on Memorial Day since we didn't have any plans but that was the day my back got so bad and I couldn't bend to do it. And here are our plans for the next few weeks before we leave...tomorrow we're going to dinner with the family (celebrating my birthday again!), Saturday we're going to see my friends and their new baby girl in the morning, and the boys have a birthday party in the mid-afternoon, Sunday morning at 11 is my older son's karate tournament, and at 2pm that day is my nieces' dance recital and then we are all going out to dinner. The following weekend....Saturday the 19th we are spending the day with the family to celebrate my father's 60th birthday; Sunday the 20th is Father's Day, and again, an all-day celebration. Saturday the 26th is my friend's baby shower, a 90-minute drive from hom, so an all-day thing. Sunday the 27th my mother and I are taking my sister out to brunch in Long Island because she is getting married in August and that was the one date we are all available to go. Our last day of work is Monday June 28th. Friday July 2nd my sister is making a dinner at her house for her fiance's birthday and Saturday July 3rd we're all going to Six Flags, also to celebrate his birthday. Sunday the 4th we have a BBQ at our house, and then we will only have 3 days until we leave!!!

OK, are you guys dizzy yet?? It's all good things, but we have so many plans and so little time to finish preparing for our trip!! So I am overwhelmed right now. This always happens to me right before a big vacation, but the good thing is that once we leave for vacation, I am so well-prepared that I don't have a care in the world. I really wish I felt that way right now!!!!!

Do any of you get this feeling of being so overwhelmed right before your Disney trips too?

Yes...especially at night..There are so many things and ideas I want to do....and never have time:( with 2 boys in baseball, its always one thing or another. I have a bunch of drs appts too before we go..camps, etc....I'm getting nervous!!
