OFFICIAL JULY 2009 THREAD!!! The wait is on!!!

I finally packed my clothes today! Still have to pack toiletries, medicines and stuff like that! Also have to stop the mail and newspaper. I always forget about those until the last minute!

My train-case has been packed with supplies for 30 years!! I just update it to keep it fresh. Add current make-up and meds and we're good!

I still have DD6's ballet dress rehearsal on Friday and performance on Saturday!! Can't put my full focus on packing until Sunday. I have packing lists that I've been updating for decades too! Growing up with a vacation home I needed to be ready to go at the drop of a hat!! So... I'm not too worried.

I'm light on ADR's. Still not sure if I want to add a non-buffet dinner ressie. I might wing it and see if we can get into Yak & Yeti for lunch some day. Still can't decide on anything else.

Still have shopping to do. Have to hit LLBean for some Explorer Sandals. maybe I can do that tomorrow.

i havent been on this thread in a lil while! 8 more days to go im super excited! and now i have a different friend going! EEk! but we are both going to have ALOT of fun! I cant wait till the plane takes off! This is my first plane ride ever so im really excited about that also! It seems like the time is passing me by and i havent bought everything im needing yet! Oh well im pretty sure im not the only one in the same boat....atleast id hope not Hope everyone enjoys their trips! HAVE FUN!!

I booked our August 2010 Oasis of the seas cruise six months ago...

That makes me feel better. The Oasis looks awesome. I want to go on that ship but we also want to try DCL. What to do, I guess we'll have to try both.

Welcome to the group; We have been booked on a Back to Back on the magic since our last cruise this past fall. Just moved them to Oct 2010. Planning is the only thing that keeps me going. Lois

My poor DH gets tired of all my planning? I think the Barcelona to Dover cruise looks good.

Actually sometimes the credit card # is held, but others are automatically charges, for example Hoop de doo review, CRT and the wishes dessert buffet immediately charge your credit card for the meal. Victoria's and Alberts and California Grill, and some other I'm sure, use the credit card as security in case you don't show up or cancel within whatever their time limit for cancellations is.

Now my account is closed and they promise me I'll have my new Disney Visa charge card by next week before we leave for the World!! It just hit me that I'm at 21 days until the trip! DB & I are super EXCITED!! AHHHH!!! There is so much that needs to be done yet. I've been busy with classes so I haven't really had time to take this all in yet. Thank goodness tomorrow is my last day! Then it's crunch time!!! I still have get myself to Target & get some last minute things. I don't want to pack so much stuff, but I always do. I still can't believe it's almost here!!

I am glad I caught that too. Two charges were to FTD and fortunately I never order through FTD and that caught my eye. I do have an AmExpress card that I can use but I really wanted to use the Disney Visa expecially because there are perks at the Disney Store. I hope they remember to send me the 50th anniversary castle card...

That's hilarious! I have started secretly packing the kids' clothes. After I do their laundry, I sneak a pair of shorts and a shirt out of the pile, fold them, run into the bedroom and throw them into the suitcase! They still don't have a clue.

Oh.. you Hokies!! My son is set on going to Va tech! Its hard to wrap my mind around being a Hokie Family because DH and I are Terps! I even have the U of MD Terps Virginia License plate. I'll always be a Terp, but I can be a Hokie Mom!!

My DS17 saw this hidden Mickey outside his bedroom window in the treetops. It too is a sign. Especially when I have my kids finding them unprompted!

The first year I was there we played the Terps in Football and I was torn. But it didn't take long for me to be a Hokie through and through. Our boys are the biggest Hokie fans and had never even seen the campus until last year. The baby already says "Go Hokies" when he sees the VT or the bird.

I've been thinking about this a long time, and I think I've finally come to a decision. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but one that needed to be made.

I've decided that the next 31 days are going to be way too depressing for me here on the "Official July 2009 Thread" watching all of you go on your trips before me. There's no way I can pull up this thread every day and see the Trip Reports and pictures for your trips and know that my trip is still days and days away.

Therefore, I will no longer be posting here on this thread and am moving over to the "Official August 2009 Thread" where I'm sure I will be welcomed with open arms.

One of the first words my DD6 learned was Testudo! One funny story. We were walking down the street and a man had on a Terps shirt. She pointed at it and he said in a baby voice.. "TURTLE".. and she looked at him and said in her baby sized voice... "TESTUDO"!! He was shocked! Anyway, please post your picture so we can find you. I'm sure you don't look like a chicken!! Nikki is maintaining the photos on page 178 of this thread. and we have friends in Charles Town!

Has anyone ever done online check-in at their resort? How is it done, and how far in advance of our trip should I do it? Or should I just go with the standard check-in?

My DU TA said online check-in is available 10 days prior to arrival. She said her clients who have used it have had no problems at all and that it really speeds up the arrival process. I think I'll go ahead and try it as we aren't too picky about room location at POFQ and we aren't planning to go to the parks that evening; planning on DTD for our arrival night.
