Oh.. you Hokies!! My son is set on going to Va tech! Its hard to wrap my mind around being a Hokie Family because DH and I are Terps! I even have the U of MD Terps Virginia License plate. I'll always be a Terp, but I can be a Hokie Mom!! :lmao:

My DS17 saw this hidden Mickey outside his bedroom window in the treetops. It too is a sign. Especially when I have my kids finding them unprompted! :rotfl:

Love it!

Ok, so we've had to shave some days off of our Disney trip. We'll now be arriving on July 6 and still departing on July 10. We'll still be staying at the Marriott Cypress Harbour villas.

The reason we shortened our trip is so that we can go to Marco Island on July 17-19!!!!!!:cloud9: I love Marco. It's beautiful and relaxing. Well worth the sacrifice.

Love the hidden Mickey!

8 more days!!!! I really need to get busy, but life keeps getting in the way! UGh!

I did want to pass this little tid bit on though. I was having a hard time deciding what to do about laundry detergent etc. I always do laundry while we are there but didn't want to carry any liquids that might spill in the van. While at Walmart I found these nifty little sheets. It is called Purex 3 N 1 or something to that affect. They are sheets that have detergent, fabric softner and a dryer sheet all in one. You simply put the sheet in the washer, then into the dryer. It was about $5.64 I believe for the starter set which includes a hard case to keep the sheets airtight and I think it is 20 sheets! Not a bad deal and no liquids!

Okay - I am soooo jealous! I wish were in the single digits! Oh, well, I suppose that 19 days isn't so bad.:rolleyes1

I saw an advertisement on tv for those sheets. That would come in very handy! Thanks for info! I had no idea that there was a starter kit with a hard case! That will be perfect for our trip in the car also! :thumbsup2

call me lame but I don't even know how many days I have left.....lol..so posting to see...lol

speaking of the wishes Dessert thing...does anyone know a link to get to the ADR page for that? I want to do it as a suprise for my honey and son...

I'm jealous of you single digit families!!!!

I am 2 weeks! 2 WEEKS!! woohoo. The kids are finally out of school here in dreary MA and it's cold and rainy. I am going to have to go to FL just to see the sun.

29 days. I can't wait. We just added two people to our group. My Mom and my 6 year old nephew. It is his first trip. We are waiting to tell him about 2 days before we leave. We are afraid if we tell him now it will be the longest 29 days of our lives.

I can't wait to see his reaction. He will love it. :yay::yay::yay:

6 days...I can hardly stand it....:faint:

We have my two sisters and theie families coming with us and my brother just added on his family. We will have 8 adults and 10 kids!!! I am sooooo excited.!

Are you on the DP? If so, you'll literally have hundreds of snacks!!

*Betsy (memoriesbybetsy.com) finished the welcome baskets for my girls yesterday. The baskets turned out SO cute -- my girls will love them and they'll be really surprised.

*I ordered Disney-themed bracelets (Mickey and Minnie heads -- glass lampwork beads) bracelets for my girls from a dear friend who makes jewelry and I'll give them the bracelets at some point in time when we're down at WDW, probably the morning we go to EPCOT to do Character Connection and see Mickey and Minnie.

*I just got off the phone with the Disney Florist and ordered a welcome gift for my parents as a surprise for them and they said they could swap out some of the items with diet drinks and sugar free candies, etc., since my Mom is diabetic.

*I bought a case of water yesterday and picked up a few boxes of water flavoring (Crystal Light packets, Powerade packets, Water Sensations packets, and True Lime packets).

*I checked to make sure all of my ADRs are right, and haven't changed a single one (although the new Wishes dessert buffet is seriously tempting me, but I think DH would kill me if I did that -- especially if he knew how much I just spent on the welcome baskets and the bracelets, LOL!).

Yea! Things are getting crossed off the list!

Goals for the rest of this week: Buy DH's shoes for the trip, pick up a mini first aid kit that will fit in the front pocket of our backpack, buy the rest of the disposable ponchos and some batteries, and put my park planner together.

Next week's goals: Start buying snacks to take down, make up the packing lists, help my girls make their autograph albums, and either find my camera cord (so I can download pictures) or buy a new one.

23 days and so much left to do!!

What's on your "to do" list this week to help you get ready for your magical vacation?

I just keep making new lists everyday. I have got to get organized.

I need autograph books. In the past we have just bought some cheap notebooks and used them. Give me some ideas on what you recommend for autograph books.

My kids (including my nephew and niece) are 14, 12, 12, 8 and 6. I like the ones that are autograph and picture frame. We still have their old autograph books, but they are pretty beat up.

We buy white bucket style hats and have the characters sign the hats. Keeps the kids heads out of the sun..don't have to carry it, and a souvenier you can wear..

Quick Daddy update, for those following, had two appts yesterday, has to have a minor procedure Thurs. to prepare his arm for dialysis, he has to see cardiologist on July 23rd, so kidney removal will be after that. That means we have a few days after our trip at least to be with him before, too!!!!! Best news is that they don't see that the cancer has spread outside of the kidney anywhere, so once it's removed he should be cancer free, but it will still be a scary and bumpy time!

Glad to hear that you will get to spend some time with your dad before his surgery. Thank God the cancer has not spread. Hopefully, this will ease your mind and you will not worry too much during your vacation.

According to the calender on the WDW / Hollywood Studio site Fantasmic will show at 9 PM on the 20th, 21st, 24th, & 26th. As far as the FDP keep calling back and asking about it. Folks cancel all the time and you never know when you might get a spot. If you don't get the package just be prepared to be there early but in my opinion it is well worth it. In fact we have plans to go twice this trip. Lois

Thanks for your help Lois!! Your the best. I tried the website a couple of times and could never find where the Fantasmic times were.

You'll have to call the ADR # because you have to give them a credit card # to make the reservation! 407 939 3463 is what I have in my cellphone...

Wow! I just found these pics through the DIS updates; here is the link:

www.disunplugged.com/2009/06/24/disney-debuts-magic-kingdom-wishes-dessert-party/

Desserts look amazing!! The views of Wishes and Spectromagic also are amazing - am thinking it would be worth it @ 17.99 each!

OK - here is my question... When are ADRs made? What is the exact time of the parade and fireworks. I guess when I call to make reservations they will know?? I am thinking of doing this. The desserts looked sooo good!!!

My to do list - 18 days till we leave
Well I already ordered the first disney trip basket for my kids - and there is no way I'm telling my husband how much those cost either - I justify it by telling him "they are all things we'll buy them anyway"

Costco to buy snacks and water

need to get car tags and inspection

need to buy DS shirts as he has grown out of everything in one week. :scared
I barely had enough clothes to pack for him to go to camp in this week
Thank the Lawd they don't have to dress nicely for camp.:rotfl2:

need to reserve hotel rooms for the day we'll be in clearwater

need to finalize touring plan

need to pack, pack, pack

have post office hold mail

get dog food and toys together to take to my mom's house

haircuts, pedicure and spray tan

get prescriptions refilled before leaving.

:scared1: will I get it all done:confused3

According to my itinerary from my DU agent: Spectro @ 9; Wishes @ 10! And there were pics showing Spectro so should be seated prior to 9...or thereabouts.

We are doing the QSDP so it is hard for me to justify more desserts ;)! The dessert spread looks better than what was at Palo on the Magic!!

I'm interested in this answer as well. Can you make an ADR on the computer for this event or do you need to call?
