Coach, thank you for the information on the food stops. It seems like I will be okay with my plan. Maybe I'll carry a bottle of water just in case... I'll think about that. Depends on the temperature that day too.
I made a mistake by not eating enough the night before or the morning of the Princess Half. At the starting line my stomach was grumbling. All I had on me was a 3/4 full bag of sport beans. So it was the Powerade and a Clif Shot along the course that got me through. Somewhere around mile 8 a volunteer was passing out Twizzlers. Let me tell you, a Twizzler never tasted so good!
orlandothebeagle - thank you. I feel much better now that I'm able to put in some longer runs. I did 14 miles almost two weeks ago, and this weekend I've got 16 on my plan. It is so hot and humid here though, it is not a lot of fun running! But, it might be better than the cold I'll face in December! I'd like to get in one 20 mile run while the weather is still warm, then scale back a little, then begin ramping up the miles again this fall. That's the plan anyway!
