Ok all you experienced runners I need help!
I was diagnosed with cancer last fall had surgery and radiation that was completed earlier this year my family and friends have put together "Team Ashley" and we are running the TOT in support of Young Adult Cancer Awareness. I got the all clear from my doctors in July to start training and things have been progressing well....slow..but well. We are going to do run/walks and are averaging a 13:40/mile.
Well this weekend was suppose to be an 11 miler on Saturday then the tapering begins. I woke up this morning with a sore throat/fever....seems to be just a head cold and as luck has it I'm off work today/tomorrow so I can rest up.
However, should I still trying doing the long run and just take it slow or scale it back? I was never a runner before so I have no clue if I should just push through or call it a loss and move on?
Thanks guys!
