That's AWESOME!!! :thumbsup2 You're going to have an amazing race! It was teeming rain here, so I did my long run on the treadmill - 8 miles on a 10 degree incline. It was tough, but got through it! I think /hope the course is pretty flat so thought the hill work would put some extra booster juice in the tank :cool1: Can't believe it's less than 2 weeks away!

When are you all heading down? I'm driving down - leaving on the 24th to arrive on the 26th.

Have a magical week, everyone!! Happy tapering! :goodvibes

Thank you!! Yes, it's going to be so much fun. I love the TOT ride and the villains, so it's going to be such a blast! :yay:

Arriving on the 27th. That's next week! Yay!

So exciting!! I looked at my race registration and couldn't believe I had registered in February - it feels like the time has flown by!

I think anticipation is half the fun - enjoy!! WDW here we come!! :beach:

So there is for sure a drop off area? My BF and I are running and my little sister and her BF will be attending the party with us, but not racing. I figured they could just drop us off since we are staying at a non-host resort (Coronado).

In the race program it states that there is no drop off at DHS for the race.If you are not staying at a host resort you need to park at WWoS and take the bus for the race/after party.

Well, here's my race outfit...you cant see it well, but the pink square on the right is holding a pair of Jack Skellington earrings :) I should have a small Jack bow for my ponytail too, but it seems to have been lost in shipping...hoping to get the replacement in time! The knee socks are a maybe right now and will probably be a last minute decision on whether or not to wear them...it'll mostly depend on the temps.

Sorry for the obnoxiously large photo...evidently the photobucket app on the iPad doesn't let you edit...or I just can't find it! Say hello if you recognize me on the course!!!!

LOVE IT!!! I'm still playing around with costume ideas. I'm making stuff for the girls, so that is keeping me busy. I figure as a last resort I will just wear the Rapunzel 5k costume I wore in Feb.

Wow - that is wonderful! I will admit, I am very envious...;)

That is super cute! Love the socks!! :)

Yesterday I did a 10mi run (10:30 pace), so now I'm on full taper until TOT! I realized I may have been running in my old shoes since mid-August (when I took both the old and new pairs of my Brooks Adrenalines on an AK cruise), which would mean that included when I did the DL 1/2 (duh!). That might explain the random hip pain I got during that race... I just noticed that the laces had the plastic tips worn off, which I knew shouldn't be true for my newer shoes.

I still haven't figured out costumes yet. I'm not running in a costume, but I will need a MNSSHP costume for Friday night and may bring a costume-y outfit for the post-race party. We have a group of 4 (1 is a non-runner).

Is there any running water in the changing tents, or would I need to go to the restroom to wipe-down before changing post-race? I just can't imagine being a sticky salty mess until 4AM. Anyone have any advice on ways to accomplish this, from experience (previous Disney night races)?

It's clearly fall here now-- down into at least the 50s at night has made for much nicer running. I just looked, and it's currently 78 oF at WDW at 11PM (87% humidity)... eww. That'll be my hottest, stickest race yet. (It's currently 60 oF here.)

I've been crazy busy at work! One person out sick, the other on jury duty, so I took some extra shifts to help out...

The toe is healed and the nail is intact!! WOOT! DH and I went for a run yesterday (only about 5.5 miles), but instead of listening to podcasts, I switched on my running playlist and kicked it up again! 5.5 in 53 minutes! I'm debating a shopping trip tomorrow (could use a new dress for the cruise after the race...) but feel the need to get up early to get a run in before I head out. We've been having some amazingly warm weather (for here), so whether it's at 6am or 4pm, it'll still be fabulous!

I started my packing pile today!!!

LOVE your costume, Summer! So cute!!!

And hooray for the start of the packing pile, MinnieDiva! You have inspired me to start mine as well. I'm flying out on the 27th too! Just a little over a week! Barely containing my excitement here! :yay:

Hello all !
I will be dressing as Cruella de Ville for the race. I'm trying to convince my husband and son to dress as Dalmatians but they're not going for it! :confused3. Lol.

Tell DH & son they'll look out of place w/o a costume; all the cool kids will be wearing them. ;) Plus, group costumes get fun attention!

Im not sure if there is water...I kind of doubt it, but don't really know. But, if you plan to check a bag at the race, bring along a travel sized pack of baby wipes to freshen up with..not as good as a shower, but they do the trick! You could also stop in the restroom inside of the park, but I imagine they will be packed with people doing the same thing for quite a while.

At the end of the Disneyland half, they handed out cold towels in packages. I believe they had some sort of scent to them - menthol? It was so nice to have a wet towel to wipe down my face and arms. Hoping they have these at the ToT instead of queuing up in a long line in the restrooms!

The problem with all the wipes is that I can't stand the smell (particularly those ones after the DL1/2)! I'm pretty sure the camping ones are scented, but maybe there will be some sort of baby ones that are fragrance free.
