As a fan of all 3 of the table service restaurants at the Contemporary, I know you'll have a great time & a full belly! If its less than an hour after the Magic Kingdom closes, you can walk there in about 10 minutes & take a bus to the All Star. If not, head down to the 1st floor of the tower building and out the front doors. There, Bell Services can get a cab for you...usually within a moment or two if one isn't already waiting. Have a great time & bon appétit!

What time does MK close that night? If it closes at 10, they will run buses until at least 11:00 so you can just walk over there and get a bus. If not, you can transfer at DTD, but plan on it taking 90 minutes or so; I would rather take a cab than transfer at DTD.

I would think bus to MK, change to the boat to the Ft Wilderness Campground. Hoop Dee Doo is near the boat dock at Ft Wilderness.

You could, but it will take much longer than just walking across the street to the MK bus depot, you would have to ride the whole loop. The poster has a late dinner at the Contemporary, likely leaving after MK has closed, so would NOT want to waste time on the monorail.

I have a few questions and I'm going to lump them all into one post. Hope that's okay!

1. Trying to go from CSR to Winterland mini-golf during the afternoon of Sept. 2. I'm thinking we'd take a bus to BB and walk from there. How late will the BB buses be running to CSR? We don't want to get stuck at Winterland with no BB bus back to CSR.

2. Also on Sept. 2 we're taking a bus from CSR to MK monorail over to Ohana for an 8:20 ADR, allowing 70-90 min. to be safe, staying for Wishes on the Poly beach, and leaving for CSR at 10:30. To avoid post-Wishes crowds leaving MK, we're considering a bus from Poly to DHS (open late that night) and then a bus to CSR, unless someone has a better idea.

3. CSR to AKL for 6:15 Boma ADR. Can't leave CSR until 4:30 due to DH's conference. Is that too late to catch an AK bus to AKL bus since AK closes at 5? I'm thinking a cab might be worth it on this one, since other bus options seem costly in terms of time. Any other ideas?

4. CSR to DTD 3 different times: Need nearest bus stop for each of these: Raglan Road, Planet Hollywood and Disney Quest. I've only been to the Marketplace, but I thought I read that there are 2 or 3 DTD bus stops to the West Side, etc. (Dealing with a foot injury right now, so I need to be conservative with my walking when possible.)

I'd really appreciate any and all suggestions!

Also interested in this. Sept 2 we have 8:15ADR and plan to hit the beach for wishes. We are staying at POR. We were thinking though if we did go to MK we would just take the ferry since we would be right there

I had forgotten all about the option of taking a boat to MK. DH thought that sounded kind of fun since we haven't done that before. The only snag for us is that I'll have an AP but DH won't. Since that's a non-park day for us, he wouldn't be able to go into MK for Wishes. We'd have to know where to find a spot outside of MK to watch the fireworks before catching our bus back to CSR.

You don't really need to walk from BB to W-S; they are at the same location. The entrance path branches left to BB, and right to W-S.

There's a shuttle bus between CSR & BB/W-S. I think it runs every 20-25 minutes. It runs until W-S closing time (but best to confirm that with the driver.)

There's also a sidewalk between CSR lobby & W-S. It's about a mile walk.

2. Also on Sept. 2 we're taking a bus from CSR to MK monorail over to 3. CSR to AKL for 6:15 Boma ADR. Can't leave CSR until 4:30 due to DH's conference. You can board a bus to DAK right up until park closing time. Since buses run about every 20 minutes, you should be OK if you're at the bus stop by 4:40. Mention to the driver that you are headed to AKL.

Both PH & RR are steps away from the Pleasure Island bus depot -- the 2nd stop at DTD. PI is also the closest stop to DQ, but it's a bit more of a walk (maybe 10 minutes.)

Why don't you just watch Wishes from the beach at Poly? I have heard it is an amazing veiw. They have lounges and hammocks. also you could see the electric water show(or what ever it is called) The 2 boats go MK-GF-Poly-MK and they run continuously until 45 min after MK closes. Well that is our plan and we may even grab a Dole whip from Captain Cooks--it is self serve there

1. For Winterland, I did a little digging and found a thread where a Disney CM says that if we're still playing mini-golf after BB closes, we can just tell the CM on duty when we're ready to leave and the CM will call for a bus to come and pick us up. Sounds easy enough!

2. For Boma, I think we'll try waiting for an AK bus at CSR from 4:30-5. If one doesn't show up, it should be pretty easy to get a cab to take us to AKL.

I had misunderstood a previous post of yours and thought that you were saying to take a boat over to MK for Wishes, but your latest post cleared things up for me. I think we're going to take a bus from CSR to MK, and then decide whether to catch a boat or the monorail over to Ohana, depending on how much time we have. To get back to CSR after Wishes, we'll take a bus to DHS and then a bus to CSR. We can always change our minds and get a cab if we're super tired. (We will have been up since 4 AM catching our early flight to MCO. )

Planning a MK and Epcot only trip. Really don't care for the theming at Contemporary or GF and really unsure about construction at Poly. since we want to stay close to MK, Wilderness Lodge is our answer. But I'm just wondering. ,

How hard would it be to take the boat to MK then hop the monorail to TTC and switch to the Epcot monorail? Is this a bigger pain than I think? Is it easier to catch a bus, keeping in mind we are traveling with three kids, one will only be 15 months on the trip. Is it too many transfers? Too big of a headache?

Last year we had horrible bus experiences at POR. Before that trip, I was a huge bus fan. But this next trip, our goal is to avoid buses as much as possible.

With 3 kids I think it would be too many transfers, I would opt to just do the bus to Epcot. You could end up spending at least an hour and a half by your proposed route.

It's a lot of transfers and it's probably going to take about 90 minutes. I wouldn't let one bad bus experience cause me to take a way that will take more than twice as long.

At that time we only had two kids but holding two sleeping kids, the stroller and our stuff while standing on a crowded bus was a nightmare. And this was in The "slow" season. I don't know of it was just that resort (POR and it wasnt even sharing with POFQ) or what but it was really bad. We were there when Splash Mountain was basically a walk on, but it took forever to get a bus. It was pretty crazy. We ended up taking the POFQ bus almost every day and then boating or walking back to POR and still getting back long before the people we saw in line for the POR bus. It seemed some resorts had crazy long lines and others never had a line at all. If WL isn't bad, I don't mind. But I'd rather spend 90 minutes sitting in boats and monorails than an hour standing in line for the bus after a long day at Epcot.

Well, what you experienced is definitely not typical. I can't say for sure how the buses are at WL, though - I've never been there.

I think at this point I would be more likely to look for ways to avoid the monorail. Breakdowns have been occurring more and more frequently. A couple of weeks ago, people were stuck on the monorail between the TTC and Epcot for 3 hours - I have to be honest, the thought of that terrifies me. At least if you're waiting for a bus, you can walk off and use the bathroom if you really need to.

Have you considered renting a car? It really is your best bet if you're dead-set against riding the buses.

I hadn't heard about this! In July, DD and I were stuck on the monorail at DLR for about 45 minutes, but thankfully we were at the DTD station and the monorail doors were kept open so people could exit if they wanted/needed to. Our seats actually faced the open doors and straight ahead of us was a girl waiting in line with her parents. They couldn't board because of the breakdown and because of that she was having multiple meltdowns with plenty of drama. She was obviously worn out, and the mother just kept talking and talking and talking to her, causing more meltdowns and all the father did was grin and film the whole thing. Anyway, I'm glad you mentioned that about the monorails. I always love to ride them at WDW, but next week when I'm there, I will probably think twice before I do.
