Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

On arrival day, I'd like to go from OKW to AKL around noon.

Several months ago, someone helpfully suggested that I take the boat to DTD and then a bus to AKL. I believe that, since then, the boat route changed so that the boat stops at DTD West Side.

Is boat-then-bus still the way to go?

I would transfer at AK. Transferring at DTD is always a last resort for me - the bus service tends to be incredibly slow.

We made ress for trails end Buffett but we will be at mk all day. Is there no direct bus from mk to the campground? I have the twiz app and it shows to take the boat which is not an option for me due to the fact my mother has a scooter. The only other way it states I have to go to the TTC then switch. Is that true?

This ^
and also, how would we go from HS to FW for Hoop De Doo? Is there a boat connecting the 2?

Thanks,

Karen :)

I'm not sure what you're going to 'switch' to! The only transportation at TTC is guest parking, the monorail, and buses to AK and DHS.

I guess you could get a cab there.

Nope, different waterways. I think the quickest way using Disney transportation would be bus to WL then boat to FW. Pioneer Hall is then a short walk from the boat dock.

The twiz app states to take the bus or ferry to the TTC then switch to the resort bus from there. It shows there is no direct bus from mk to the campground. I was able to find that there is a boat that takes ECV`s to fort wilderness from mk.

Thank you siskaren, so now another question. After Hoop De Doo is over and we want to get back to our room at BCV what do we do?
Bus, boat, there are 6 of us, would a cab be an option?

Thanks again,

Karen:)

I'm not sure where that particular app comes from but there haven't been resort buses at the TTC for as long as I can remember! And I've been going to WDW several times a year since '99!
I'm not at all sure that there isn't a bus to FtW from MK. There is a bus from MK to WL...so one would assume that there would be a run to FtW as well. But yes, you can use ECVs on most of the boats..especially the larger ones. Glad you got that info.

It depends on what show you are at. If you go to the late show, there will be buses there to get you back to BCV. BUT..it won't be fast. You will be on a bus with perhaps 5 other resorts! If MK is still open, just take the boat back there and then transfer to the BC bus. Much easier. That's what we do.

There are no resort buses from the TTC.

This makes me wonder if the app is as unreliable as the website.

Yes, a cab is an option. A taxi van can transport 7 people.

The Twiz app is a Disney world transportation app you can put on your phone or tablet. It lists all locations from resort's,parks and dtd. You just select your starting point the ending point and will give you at least three options of transportation with times. All locations show correctly on this app except fort wilderness. It seems to think there's no direct bus from mk to the campground. But others than that this app works great in judging how long it would take you to get from the parks to your adrs if there at other areas of wdw

That app is provided by OLP...and they are well known for having less than accurate info on their site. I just double checked the actual site for transportation options for MK to FtW...yep, it's still wrong...boat or monorail to TTC and bus to FtW!!! Many of us have been trying for years to get this site to update their info. In some cases they have, others not so much. There is no way I would trust what they say regarding transportation options.

Thanks for the info. I actually know my way around wdw. But this is the first time dealing with someone in a scooter so I'm trying to eliminate alot of on and off buses.

All Star Movies to the Poly? Easiest way and amount of travel time?

My mom has an Ohana res for 8:30am on the 29th. I've never been and this is her first time, and only 2nd WDW trip, so I don't want to confuse her lol. My assumption is she needs to take a bus to MK and then the monorail..?

TIA for the help! :)

The fastest way would be to get a taxi (15-20min) or from asmo take the bus to mk, go past the entrance to mk and get on the monorail to poly (40min)

For an 8:30 ADR at the Polynesian, be out at the bus stop at Movies by 7:15. When you get to MK, you can take the boat, if it's running, or the monorail. Either one works fine. The monorail starts running by 7am, so it will be up and running. You could ask the bus driver which is faster to the Polynesian and he may very well offer to drop you there on his way out of MK.
Or a cab would be the fastest....about 15-20 mins tops.

Thank you both, very much! :goodvibes:

Hi, siskaren, you have been so helpful, thank you so much

So I believe we have a change in plans and now need to know how to get to Hoop De Doo from the Beach Club.
From your earlier reply Im thinking maybe the bus to FW and then the boat to the campground :confused3
I really have no clue, I have no sense of direction :sad2:

Thanks so much..again,

Karen

I would think bus to MK, change to the boat to the Ft Wilderness Campground. Hoop Dee Doo is near the boat dock at Ft Wilderness.

You beat me to the punch!!! Exactly what I would have said. Easiest way.
