Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Thank you, both of those were night time ADRs just a btw, so I'm not worried about the morning. This boat you speak of, I honestly don't recall ever seeing it! Although the past 2 times I was there I was also busy trying to keep track of a lot of different things. I don't need to go INTO HS for this boat right?

Sorry about that I thought the Cape May ADR was for the AM, dyslexia I guess.:confused3

No you do not have to enter DHS to get to the boat dock, it is located on the opposite side of the lake from the bus drop off, you can see it from the area in front of the entrance.

If there is a boat already at the dock when you get to the entrance area there is a change you might not make it there before the boat leaves, if it does you are probably better off walking because another one won't be along for 15-20 minutes. If it's just arriving you're golden.

Check with the front desk for what time the last bus to DHS is if the park closes early. (DHS closes many nights in Jan at 7:00 pm) I would think if you're on your way by 6 you shouldn't have a problem.

If you can't catch the last bus, there is always the taxi.

Do buses from the parks go to TTC or just to the resorts?
Buses run to the TTC from both DHS and AK. The Epcot monorail goes to the TTC and the ferry and monorail from MK go to the TTC.

Sweet!:thumbsup2 I needed to know if I could get from AK to Ohana dinner, and I can.:goodvibes

Thanks.:flower3:

You can also just take the bus to the Polynesian from AK.

 Gosh, most days I'm really not that stupid.:sad2: Seriously, I really now can't believe that I even posted that question and it didn't occur to me to take the Poly bus. I think the proper word for my post would be "DUH".:upsidedow

Another question that may have already been answered but didn't find it when I searched the thread -- we have a late ADR at Ohana and want to know how to get back to POP. MK closes at 8pm and we may not be done dinner in time to get a bus to POP from there. Is my only option a taxi?

If there's another park open, you can transfer there, but it would probably take at least an hour. If no other parks are open, you can transfer at DTD, but that would probably take at least 90 minutes.

I would take a taxi.

Hi all,
Not sure if someone has asked this already. Heading to WDW in February. We have reservations at Boma at 8pm. Getting there is no problem. We'll take the bus from AK to AKL. What is the best way to get back to our resort, Pop? By the time we are done, I think most of the parks will be closed so I don't think I can take a bus back to the park then bus back to Pop?

I'm guessing bus from AKL to DD to Pop or just get a taxi?

Thanks!!!:goodvibes

We used a taxi for this in 2007. (We were actually going to ASMu, but the timing was similar). We didn't want to wait for two buses to get back, so it was worth the money (for us) to get a cab.

We are going from Pop to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's, then to the Richard Petty DRiving Experience, and then to DTD.

I have a plan I think, but please let me know if there is a better way! :goodvibes

Pop to MK (or TTC if there is a bus for that) and either walk or monorail to Contemporary.

Monorail from Contemporary to TTC to get the van over to RPDE.

Van back from RPDE to TTC and then take the monorail to Contemporary to get the bus to DTD.

That's the best I could come up with and I've never really paid attention if there is a bus from TTC to DTD or if you can get a bus from Pop to TTC. TIA for any help/advice!

The resort buses don't go to the TTC. Basically, that is a dropping off point for off-site buses, as well as buses to/from AK and DHS that are bringing guests back to MK area. No bus between DTD and TTC either. You have a decent plan except for the ride back. I would head to the Polynesian to get the bus to DTD, rather than the CR..much closer. You can even walk there from the TTC, or it's the first stop using the monorail. When taking the monorail from TTC to CR it is going to take about 20+ mins since the CR is the stop before the TTC.

Thanks for the tip about the Poly! We haven't used the resort line of the monorail that much and I wasn't sure about the order of the stops.

The 'resort line' runs clockwise.....TTC, Polynesian, GF, MK, CR, TTC.
The 'express line' runs counterclockwise between TTC and MK.

What's the best way to get from ASMu to Poly (for Ohana @ 7:30am) and then to Epcot?

The best way would be to take a taxi, approx $15 fare and about 10 min ride.

By bus you would need to be at the bus stop at 6:30am and take the bus to MK and then either boat or monorail to Poly. Buses don't run as frequently at that time of morning so hopefully you will get the first one to make your 7:30am reservation.
You could tell the bus driver you are going to the Poly for breakfast and if your lucky he might just drop you there instead of the MK.

After breakfast you can either walk of take the monorail to the TTC and then the Epcot monorail.

Or...
be out at the MK bus stop by 6:15ish. These early buses run less frequently than regular buses do, so if you just miss one, you may have a longish wait. The monorail starts running at 7 so you should be able to just hop on at MK..takes about 15 mins from there to the Polynesian. When you get on the bus, ask the bus driver which is faster to the Polynesian...monorail or boat. He/she may just offer to drop you on the way out...they usually have to go right by the Polynesian.
