Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

I am a long time lurker and love all the information I have gotten from all of you! I now have a question I can't figure out. We are staying at the CBR next weekend and plan to spend most of Saturday at DHS for SWW. We will drive to DHS so we can be there early. We then have ADR at Crystal Palace in MK at 4:00 and reservations for the Pirate Fireworks cruise from the Contemporary Resort at 8:15. Can we drive from DHS and park in the Contemporary Resort? Or do we need to part in TTC and then take the monorail to MK, then to CR then back to TTC?
Thanks!
Welcome...glad you're no longer lurking!!!
Ok...so can you park at the CR and then walk over to MK? Technically? No. Since you're going over to the MK, you are 'supposed' to park at the TTC. BUT....you are doing the pirate cruise, out of the CR, later in the evening, so I say go ahead and give parking there a shot. Just tell the guard at the security shack that you are doing the pirate cruise later on. That should be okay. But, try to find a somewhat removed parking spot, not a right up front one.

I know there is a boat that takes you to DTD but it seems the only way to get to TL from POFQ is the bus. In the past my family has always just driven to TL because the bus line for DTD/TL/BB can be a nightmare. Well, we are flying this time and not renting a car so that's not an option.

Does anybody know the order of stops on that line? Does it go DTD, Pleasure Island and then TL? Or will it stop at TL before going to DTD?

If I remember correctly, the last time I rode that line while staying at POP it went DTD, PI and TL last.

What's the best way to get to Cape May Cafe at The Beach Club from All-Star Movies, for an 8:05 a.m. ADR?

I really can't be much help. I don't really remember. But, perhaps someone else will.

You could take the bus to DHS...they start running by 6:30am. Be out at the bus stop by 6:45, latest. These buses don't run quite as frequently as the regular buses do. Then, when you get to DHS you can walk to BC...takes about 18 mins or so, depending on pace.
Or....take a cab. That would allow you to leave your resort no earlier than 7:40ish..giving you lots of time to get to BC.

If you're arriving at DHS more than 45 minutes before the park opens (and therefore also before the boats are running), you'll also be able to get a bus from DHS to YC. Just tell the bus driver when you get on at ASMo that you're going to BC for b'fast.

Well, who the heck knew??? Thanks for the info!!!!!

Hi all,

We are going to HDDR on a day where MK is closing at 7pm for the MNSSHP.

Our HDDR reservation is at 9:30 p.m.

We'd like to visit Wilderness Lodge the same day. Does the resort boat from Wilderness Lodge still run to Fort Wilderness after MK closes? If so, will the resort boat still be running at 11:30 p.m. or so after the HDDR show is done to take us back to Wilderness Lodge?

Hope this question makes sense. Thanks!

That boat shuts down at 11:30 p.m., so you may or may not catch the last boat.

But bus service should be available. Ask the HDD cast when you exit.

After midnight, the only bus service out of WL may be to DTD. You can transfer there to your resort.

Boats will run from MK to WL for a while after midnight, but I don't know whether they will take you back to MK. If you're taking a boat over to FtW earlier in the evening, ask the crew what time the last boat leaves WL for MK.

Wow that stinks.

So if you are staying at VWL and go to the 9:30pm show of HDDR , you may have to take 2 buses to get back to your resort in the middle of night?

Should I then try and book for a night MK has evening EMH, will the boats be running later?

No, there won't be two buses involved. Just one. But, that one bus may very well have up to 5 different resorts on it's route. I would imagine that a bus that gets you to WL would also go to the CR, Polynesian and GF..at least.
You other option would be to just walk back to VWL..there is a nice pathway. While I've never used it myself, I've seen photos of it...looks cool.

So even if MK was open late the ferry wouldn't be running FW to VWL ?

The 2 buses were to get from WL to another resort after midnight.

As g4t said, there is direct service from the late show of HDD to the resorts, but buses may stop @ several resorts. I'd wager WL will be the first stop, since it's on the way out to the monorail resorts.

We will be staying in the Cabins at Fort Wilderness and have booked a character breakfast at O'hana. What is the best way to get from point A to point B? I know we can take a boat from FW to MK and then take the monorail to the Polynesian, but is that the quickest way?

I've heard that taking the boat from MK to the Polynesian may be faster, but other than taking a cab, those are probably going to be your best options.

For a breakfast before the MK opens, you'll need to take the boat to the CR and board the monorail there.

If your breakfast is at least 45 minutes after MK opens, you can take the boat to MK, and from there you can take either the monorail or another boat to Poly. The boat might be faster than the monorail.

Our breakfast is at 8:45, MK opens at 9, right?? And forgive me but I'm drawing a blank on what CR stands for :confused3
