Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

Can someone help me get from Wildnerss Lodge to Chip and Dale's sing-a-long campfire.

I would just take the boat over from WL...then take an internal bus to the Meadow area.
Actually, you don't need to take the boat at all.

The campground bus to the campfire starts at WL. Just board the bus marked Fort Wilderness at the WL bus depot; it will continue into the campground after stopping at the Settlement. Just ask the driver where to get off. If he doesn't know, then get off at the Meadows Trading Post stop, and ask the Trading Post staff for walking directions.

I'll try to put together a quick map and post it later tonight.

Here's the map:

The bus stop which I think is announced for Sunny Sage Way is just across the creek from the campfire via pathway and bridge. The Meadows Trading Post is also an easy walk from the campfire.

IIRC, the bus stop is the 1st or 2nd after leaving the Settlement. After you cross the street, there's a sign at the pathway; I think it says something like "Meadows Recreation Area."

What would I do without you??!!! Thanks so much. Once again...my lack of understanding of the FtW area is very obvious!!!:confused3

What's the best way to get from MK to DTD? Is there a bus from the TTC to DTD, seems like that may be the best way. Besides taking a cab...

Did not think there was a bus that did DTD/TTC to avoid people parking for free at DTD & then using Disney Transportation.

What you can do to go from MK--> DTD is walk across to the Contemporary (maybe a 10 min walk) and wait for the DTD bus there.

There is not a bus from the TTC to DTD.

As far as the best route goes, that really depends on how you define "best."

You could walk to the contemporary and take a bus from there to DTD. It's about a 10 minute walk, and in my experience the bus service from the deluxe resorts is pretty slow, especially to DTD.

You could take the bust to Port Orleans and then take the water taxi to DTD. That would be my preferred method. It will probably take about the same amount of time as the first route, but I like the boat.

You could also take the bus to Pop Century and then take the bus to DTD. That would probably be a bit faster than the other methods, because Pop has really, really good bus service.

Well we are staying at Port Orleans so that's probably our best option.

Quickest way??? Walk over to the CR (under 10 mins) and hop on their bus to DTD. If you go the POR route, you have to wait for the bus, then ride to POR, then wait for the boat, then 20+ min ride to DTD. But, it's the best way to get back to POR from DTD...very pleasant at the end of the day!!!

This is our first time and we have four ADRs at resorts and are hoping someone can help with the best way to get to them! And also what time we should plan to leave. There are 6 of us, so a taxi is really not an option.

1. MK to Fort Wilderness for 5pm Hoop Dee Do and then back to MK.

2. Epcot to Poly or ASMu to Poly (if I decide to return to the resort) for 5pm O'hana and then to DHS after dinner.

3. DHS to GF or ASMu to GF for 5:50pm at 1900 Park Fare and then to Epcot after dinner.

4. DHS to AKL for 12pm at Sanaa (could do a taxi for this one since it will just be my daughter and I).

Thanks for any advice. The transportation system is a little bit intimidating and I want to make sure we are using the most efficient route!

I wanted to note that taxi is always an options, just have bell services call a taxi van -- note that there are 6 of you traveling. You may have to wait a few extra minutes, vs. a regular cab that might drive up 30-60 seconds after you request one, but they are always waiting around somewhere. The taxi vans are typically waiting at the theme parks as well. Other answers/ opinions below in purple.

1. MK to Fort Wilderness for 5pm Hoop Dee Do and then back to MK. Easy peasy, boat both to & from, give yourself at least 45 min from the front of MK in case you need to wait for the boat.

2. Epcot to Poly or ASMu to Poly (if I decide to return to the resort) for 5pm O'hana and then to DHS after dinner. Ep --> Poly, just take the monorail to the TTC & walk next door to the Poly. After you exit the monrail ramp, instead of heading for the parking lot trams just keep heading to the right, there is a lovely walking path, maybe a 5 minute walk. Probably half an hour from the front of EP is enough time, give yourself more so you are not stressed. ASMU to Poly, bus to MK & the monrail or boat to Poly. In case you have to wait (x2) give yourself at least an hour, preferaably more so you are not rushed & stressed.

3. DHS to GF or ASMu to GF for 5:50pm at 1900 Park Fare and then to Epcot after dinner.DHS to GF, direct bus, give yourself 30-45 minutes. ASMU to GF, bus to MK & then monorail or boat to GF. Again give yourself at least an hour, preferably more.

4. DHS to AKL for 12pm at Sanaa (could do a taxi for this one since it will just be my daughter and I). Direct bus, make sure to get off at the Kidani stop give yourself at least 1/2 hr preferably more.

Thanks for any advice. The transportation system is a little bit intimidating and I want to make sure we are using the most efficient route!

Hello, I read somewhere else that the taxis accept credit cards? Is this true? We hardly ever take a taxi but when we do, we always have cash. Thanks!

Yes, Mears taxi cabs (which are the only ones authorized to pick up at WDW) take credit cards. If you're off site, you can call for a Mears taxi at 407-422-2222.

Trying to see how difficult this would be. Family members at BWV. I know the Swan or Dolphin is my best bet - but that eliminates Magical Express for those at the Dolphin.

So how hard is it (or how expensive via cab) to get from Music to BWV?

Thanks.

If you want a value, I would go with Pop if at all possible. It's just down the road from BW....we have taken a cab between the two resorts and it's under $10. The AllStars are further away, so will cost more and take longer. Pop is only about an 8 min ride.

Can anyone tell me what time we would need to be at the bus stop at Port Orleans Riveside to make it to an 8 AM ressie at Epcot and AK. Is any stop at POR better than another to get on the bus. We are 5 with a stroller. Also, what time should we leave AK to go to Mickey's BBQ? I assume we just take a bus from AK to FT. Wilderness? Thanks

Family of seven staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. We have one vehicle available to us which we could all squeeze into but we prefer to take the water taxi if possible.

Thanks!

There's no water taxi from POFQ to the boardwalk.

You should take the bus to DHS and them walk or take the bus to the boardwalk.
