Official Dopey 2017 Thread

I love all the tips in here. I'm going to really sit down and make out my training plan today. I want to incorporate some strength training and cardio outside of running into it and see if that helps at all. From what I'm reading, it should right? I have a good amount of non Disney races planned so I need to work around those as well without getting too out of hand. I signed up for an additional full in October for my sister in laws first but already plan to do that at a medium effort to make sure and stay healthy for the following months. Fingers crossed this all works out! I'm already nervous for Dopey and it's many months away lol

Additional cardio will help your heart and breathing, and overall fitness, but it will not help your running beyond maybe strengthening weak areas which could help with your form. To become a better runner, you have to run more.

Good point! I could definitely use some improvement in my breathing so hopefully I can get a little there.
 

Dopey #4 here. I like these 48.6 miles too much to go a year without them.

That's for real - I considered going Goofy this year for a break, and even got the hard-sell from my VBRF and my husband and parents. Then I thought I'd do Goofy + 10k, but then - at that point, it's like why not just do Dopey again? #FOMO is a real, real thing.
