Official DL July 2015 thread

Wooohooo!! So exciting when it's been a trip 5 years in the making with so many celebrations! The 17th of July is going to be one super special day :)

My DH, DD, and I all have July birthdays - and we'll just have a Happy UNbirthday for my DS so he can join in the fun too :) (last time we did a July birthday celebration, we picked one day to celebrate my December DS too!)
That is a great way to include your son! I do think July birthdays are THE best! I'm July 22nd and for the first time in my life, will be in the park on MY birthday also! I said I would be happy to go for the 17th again if we could arrange the trip so our last day in the parks would be MY birthday. I am so excited!

July birthdays are fun - I love that it's warm and we are typically on vacation somewhere during our birthdays :)

We just booked our first trip to Disneyland!! We will be there July 22-29th. Staying at the HoJo. Our son will be turning 5 during the trip on July 27th. party:

Our trip to Disneyland is part of a longer trip to the Pacific coast for our honeymoon. However, I wish I was there right now! Why do you ask, well let me show you what life is like on the east coast of Canada.............

Doesn't look like you're going anywhere right now! Here in the North Bay of California the daffodils are up, the trees have flowers, and we just had a cold spell in the low 60s. :) Should be a fun trip for you though!

Well, I completely disappeared for a while-2 reasons. 1. This new format had me a mess, and I just didn't put in the effort to find this thread. It was easy enough, once I actually tried. aaaand 2. I'm pregnant! Due in October and very excited. The only bummer will be missing out on Indiana Jones, which I looooove. I'm not too sad about all the other DL thrill rides, since I get plenty of them on my DW trips. BUT we've been trying a while and had some losses, so I am very excited and willing to walk DL at 7 months pregnant. I need to get my butt back to the gym so I'm ready for it!

We ended up booking the Howard Johnson with the pirate ship water area. There were very few hotels with zero-entry kiddie pools. I know I'm going to want to relax, even if we end up doing half park days, so holding a 3 year old in a pool won't be fun for anyone (including her). We'll be there for 5 days. Very excited to finally be booked!!! (AND we bought our park tickets the night before the prices went up-good incentive!)

CONGRATULATONS!!!! This is amazing news.

I too just bought my tickets - the day before the latest price hike. And I submitted my vacation request at work. It feels like this trip is actually going to happen now. I want to get started on touring plans but will wait until a little closer I guess since I am sure there will many things announced for the 60th.

My plan is to arrive in San Jose on July 11th, spend a night in Monterey, then on to the Seqouia National Park for 3 nights before moving to the Fairfield Inn Anaheim for 7 nights from July 15th - 22nd.

July 16 - Park Day 1
July 17 - Park Day 2 (60th anniversary)
July 18 - break day
July 19 - Park Day 3
July 20 - Park Day 4
July 21 - Park Day 5
July 22 - Fly home

Congratulations! What wonderful news! My twins were due in October but arrived in August. And now they are 21! Feels like yesterday though.

We bought our AP vouchers a few weeks before the price went up. So we are set to go to. And we are now squeezing in an Alaskan cruise at the end of June before we go to Disneyland. I wish it was a Disney cruise, but the Celebrity ship we are on is supposed to be very good.

Trying to plan a trip for 7/6-12 with some days added for Sequoia National Park. I've emailed my TA with the dates and they haven't responded (it's been several days). I emailed again yesterday so I'm hoping I'll hear back soon. Not sure what to do if I don't hear back . :confused3

Do it yourself! TAs are overrated ;)

Thank you everyone for your congrats :)

A good TA is not to be underestimated. Ours saved us a bundle on a month long cross country/cross border adventure. Better than anything I could do myself. In fact California would have been out of the question without our TA's help!

Great! Where did you decide to stay??

Although my kids originally wanted to stay at PPH with a park view, upon further discussion, we've decided to stay at DLH (mostly because it's iconic).

And...my TA does not book DLR vacations but passed my request on to a colleague that is a DLR expert - that is why it took so long.
