I registered when the % was pushing 80 so maybe I'll be lucky & get corral c or d. I just want at least 3 corrals behind me so I have at least a 15 min cushion. I've been averaging about 11-12 min miles but still worry about the sweepers. :(

How do you find your bib number?? I found my name, but no bib # is attached???:confused3

It's on the bottom of your waiver. You can print it at home and bring it with you to the expo. Someone upthread posted the link to the waivers.

Me & hubby are in the 101xx bib numbers so we will be in the rear too. I was hoping for a better corral placement. We were in corral D for the WDW half this year. We finished in 2:54:54. I don't remember what we put for our time placement for this 1/2. I hope we have a chance for a good corral & would it be worth it to see where our WDW half will put us?

Don't worry. We were in corral F, I think for the WDW half. The party is in the back of the pack. Lots of fun!

How many corrals is there usually for the Disneyland half? Anyone have the bib number breakdown/assignments from last year?

I noticed on the official DL half guide online and it shows corrals A-G.

I'm #9528. How many corrals are there? If there are 15,000 runners, I won't be at the VERY back. :thumbsup2

In the program, the map shows that there are 8 corrals A-G. Don't know the #'s from last year, but if there are 15k runners, then there's about 1800 per corral and if there are 17k runners there's about 2100 or so. I just forget if the increase in runners was to 15 or to 17.

A-G means there are only 7 corrals.

7 X 1800 = 12,600 runners

Either there will be more corrals or more per corral if there are 15K or 17K runners.

Ok - I need this email! We have three of us coming in on Thursday evening.

Could you perhaps email it to me? I'll send you a PM. Thanks!

Could you send it to me too? That would be great...thanks for sharing!

I always love going to Disneyland, I call it my mothership. I was laid off from my job this past Tuesday. All I could think about this morning is that I just want to go somewhere and not have to think about anything. Too bad I have to wait over another month before that can happen but at least I have something to look forward to! :thumbsup2

Hey guys ~ don't know who's flying, but I got an email today from Super Shuttle. If you're flying w/ more than 1 person, they're having a deal where you extra people can be added on for only $5. It includes LAX, SNA and LGB. Didn't check out the website, but if it's not on their site, I held onto the email and can forward it to you if you want it! The deal ends 8/31, so if you come in Fri or sooner, it could save you some money.

Hi Kim,
Thanks for sharing this with us! Can you send it to my email listed below? We are doing Disneyland on a budget this year while we save for WDW13.

THANKS!

Sorry miscounted ~ 15k runners will mean 2143 per corral 17k runners is 2429 per.

I'll forward it over to you right now!

It's good to see some familiar names on this board from the 2011 Wine & Dine discussion, (my first half) and that many of us are going for the coast2coast medal! I've been in denial about how close this half is. I did a long beach run a few days before the WDW 1/2 and did something to aggravate my SI joint. My DS was very happy to get through the WDW 1/2 doing 13 min miles versus my usual 10-11 min/miles, as it was his 1st long run of anything greater than 10k. I ran a very comfortable paced 15k in March, set a new PR for a 5k in April. Shortly there after my rheumatologist felt she needed to aspirate 3cc of fluid from my knee and since I've been able to do a few slower paced 5k runs and a 6 mile walk/run. (lesson learned-I should have lied when she asked if my knee hurt-it did when she finished with it) My physical therapist was keeping me until I built my miles back up but now has switched focus to my knee and the discomfort is resolving. My therapist has cleared me to pick up the miles over the next few weeks the mornings before I come in for therapy. I cross-train hard 3x/week and am good friends with the indoor rowing machine. I'm really grumpy since I haven't been running. This is my only chance in the foreseeable future to earn my coast2coast medal so will cross that finish line if I'm crawling!! Bib number 4791 based of a 2:19 half Thanksgiving Day. Was 40xx in coral A for the WDW 1/2 and there were 22,000 runners.

Please don't worry about the sweepers if you are doing even a 12 min mile!!! You are doing great. My husband and I will be bringing up the rear with 15.5 min miles!! We are walkers, and we are just out to enjoy the event. We have done several Disney races, even the notoriously hot 2007 Disneyland race, and we always have a lot of fun, even though we are always among the last 1,000 to finish.

I'm so very sorry. Been there, done that. You never forget that pain.

I would also agree that you don't need to worry about the sweepers. Depending on your situation the bigger problem could be starting out too far forward.

Last year I was bib number 6237 and ended up in corral D. With the warm weather that was probably a corral too far forward. I went out too fast in mile 1 and ended up walking quite a bit more than I wanted to those last three miserable miles. At the 15K point I was on pace for a 3:00 finish and ended up finishing in 3:11. Most of my training runs are in the 14 min./mile range and my PR half marathon from last spring is 2:51.

If the weather is expected to be warm I would adjust my projections and talk to the Cliff Pace Team to find out what corral your anticipated finish is starting in and move back to with them for the start. It's more fun to be passing people than it is to be passed the entire race.
