Official Disneyland ½ Marathon & 5k

I'm C2C this year with Princess being my first. Just want to make sure I don't need to do anything to get it.... I keep feeling I was supposed to fill something out or there should be something on my waiver. Can anyone walk me thru what to "do" to get my extra bling!

Thank you!

Somebody else might be able to help you better, but I thought there was a place during registration that asked if you are doing C2C.

As long as you checked the box on the registration, all you need to do is pick up your packet in the Coast to Coast section. They will give you a special wrist band, and there will be an off chute to get your C2C metal after you get your DL½ one.

Great. I don't remember if I checked the box on my registration. I would assume I could go over there & they can look me up.

Probably wouldn't hurt to send them an e-mail now, just in case. If you did forget to check it, the more time for them to remedy it the better. But I am sure there is more than one person who forgets to mark the box.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I don't know if DH checked the box - he registered us. :upsidedow

Hi! Like a few of you, I did my first Half at the Princess in February. It was a blast! Now it's time to go for the C2C!!

I have a couple of questions. I registered for this the week before I ran the Princess, so I gave a qualifying time of 1 hour from a local 10K. I've since done the Princess and finished in 2:12. For the Disneyland Half, I have bib #6548 and this puts me in Corral D. Is this the right placement or should I ask to move up, based on a projected finish around 2:00?

My other question is for the hotel shuttles. I am at a hotel a bit further out from the park area. Is it feasible to "park and ride" from a Good Neighbor hotel with free parking? If so, any suggestions as to which hotel to go to?

Thanks and happy training!

That bib # sounds high. I submitted a 2:28 and am in the 5600's and corral C. I would print out your Princess time and bring it to the expo. Go to runner info or relations in the downstairs area where we pick up our bibs. It'll be to the right of the 1/2 bib pickup. They can give you a sticker w/ a higher corral.

As for parking at the other hotels... not sure, you might be able to ask the hotel directly.

On a random note ~ I noticed you are in Vegas. How have the mornings been out there? I'm going down for the weekend in a couple of weeks and debating whether I'll be able to run outside or if I'll have to gym it.

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely ask if I should be in a higher corral...

Hope you enjoy your Vegas trip. Yes, I have managed to train all summer here (so far) without going indoors. I usually take off running from my house at about 5:30 or so (it's light then) and back by 7 so I can get ready for work. It's low 80s at the worst. I live in the Summerlin area, it's to the west of the Strip, near the mountains. Good altitude and clean, dry air.

There are lots of concrete trails throughout this area. The local Half earlier this year used this route: http://www.desertskyadventures.com/summerlin/#Maps

You can try all or portions of it. Scenic and safe. Wave hi if you see me training!

Kim - That's funny, I submitted a 2:28 from my Wine&Dine 2011 half and got bib # 6644.

So while I agree that #6548 is a little high for a 2:12 submitted time, I think maybe RunDisney is just trying to do the best they can, and that people in the first 3-4 corrals are all planning on running or doing pretty solid 3/1 intervals for the entire 13 miles. I also can say that for both the Wine&Dine and the Princess, it was really easy to pass anyone who had slowed to a walking pace. Everyone seemed aware of the whole "move to the side" rule if they were walking, and I hardly ever encountered any jams.

I know for myself, it takes a mile or two for me to get in my groove, so I may very well do a few intervals initially before I settle into my running pace for the remaining miles. I saw that happen before with a number of people and it never seemed to be an issue.

As an aside -- GETTING REALLY EXCITED!!

But. I had set a goal to run 250 miles between a certain date and my birthday (August 28th), and I have slacked and still have 120 miles to go. I am still going to try and meet my goal, but that means 5-8 mile runs EACH DAY and I don't want to overdo it. So BOO for me slacking with my training but YAY that I know I can at least finish and DOUBLE YAY for visiting Disney to do it!

I emailed them to ask because I signed up for wine and dine before I signed up for Disneyland--they said not to worry, that they go by registration and name so you'll automatically get the wristband even if you didn't check the box.

I plan on bringing something to show I did dl though, juuuust in case...

Thanks! I'll check those out. I just can't bring myself to pay $20 for 1 day at the gym.

That's a good point, didn't think about how many people would submit a similar time. Congrats on the 250 at DL!

If anyone's still looking into costume ideas, I got an email from Raw Threads today. They have some new glow in the dark race shirts that are disney themed! They usually have a booth at the expo, but they are really cute!

This is good news. I know I can use my phone and have them look up the results on active if they need proof. Who did you email? Just curious.

I asked the people who update your time if you want to change corrals. Here's the email I got from Kara:
"This process is actually done automatically. We pull all repeat registrants from race to race and you will receive your medal at your second event. We pull information by last name and birthdate only so as long as everything is correct with your registrations and you have no name changes you will be all set for the Coast to Coast."

Well good. Seems 1 less thing to worry about.

Just found out that i am #5594. Not sure which Corral i am in but i am excited to try to get the C2C metal.

That is good to know. I was getting nervous as I didn't see anything special for coast to coast. I did send an email but didn't get a response back.

Uh Oh. I wasn't even thinking about this before, but my name HAS changed between the Princess and the Disneyland Half. I got married on February 19th, and so for the Princess I ran as my maiden name because I registered before I was married and had a drivers license to reflect that.... but for the Disneyland half I registered with my married name and my drivers license shows it now.

Crap.

MightyDuck, what email did you use? I should probably send them a note so I don't miss out on my medal! :)

Also, Aaron - Hi! Sounds like you're in C. I have a feeling many of the runners from mid-B to mid-D are all going to be running at a similar pace.

Less than 30 days!!!! I think. :cool2:

Has anyone who purchased their registration from GET Travel gotten emails or bib numbers/waivers from runDisney? Is the process the same, or do you have to check-in with GET Travel at the Expo to pick up your waiver, etc? I did get a confirmation from Active.com, but everything else has been directly from GET and is more about tickets and transportation rather than race details.

< Ran a 13.1 training run today- Went well despite it being on a treadmill- Technically PR'd by almost 15 min but to me doesnt count cause its not official :) Rewarded myself with a cookie since I didn't get a medal...

So Ready to run!
