Sorry if this was posted, I saw a few asking and I printed this one out and posted it in my work cubicle for motivation :)

Look forward to meeting some or all of you!

I like that picture. Did you make it?

I'm going to end up racing it this year, but if somehow I ended up injured, or unable to race, I was thinking of doing a 3D Mater costume--maybe with him going backward. Would have been very fun.

I wish! I *think* that it was in the virtual Goody bag for the Princess, as more or less an ad to have you sign up for the Coast to Coast. At any rate, it's runDisney's, and confirms that the medal is the same as previous years, with an adjusted year. I still love it!

Hi Run2Relax! (Your name escapes me)

TMC, also nice to see you!

Familiar names are always fun.

So, I just signed up DH for a Gold Cheer Squad, mostly for the 1day1park ticket, and I went ahead and got myself a discounted 1day1park ticket, and so now the plan is to visit California Adventure after the Expo on Saturday! :)

I have a question though!!!

GetTravel sells shuttle transportation to and from LAX, and I think I should get it, but their pickup policy is "At the Expo" - well of course I will need them before the stupid expo but I don't want to pay $22 in shipping.

Does anyone know the best ways to get from LAX to a Disney Good Neighbor hotel? I think I already asked this but I can't find it on the thread.

Should I buy SOMETHING ahead of time, or can I just worry about it once we arrive in LAX? I think a rental car and taxi is out, so I just need to know my shuttle options. Thanks in advance!

Another question!!!

Our flight on Sunday leaves at 7 PM. Any ideas for what we should do between the run and when we have to leave for LAX (I am assuming 5:00 PM)

Should I spend another $142 for 1day1park tickets to Disneyland Magic Kingdom? We could instead shop at downtown Disney but we might finish with time to spare. Any restaurants we should try? I'm I over thinking how much free time I am actually going to have? Maybe I should just plan on a nap? Can we eat at a restaurant inside a Disney resort without being a guest?

Remember we won't have a car so we can't go out of the immediate area.

Thanks all!

Hello - I am very new to the site - and forum's generally so forgive me if this has been asked but I cannot figure out how to search this particular thread!

I have my bib number - hoorah!

Everyone seems to be talking about the corral position - where do i find this out? I didn't think it was based on bib number.

Does anyone have experience with 'actual' start times? The only race I have done started at 9am but my corral didn't get going till at least 930.

I am trying my hardest to work out my finish time so I can plan my Sunday as I am visiting California and relying on friends to drive me around :)

Thanks for your time
H

Hi Carey!

I don't know if you listen to the DisUnplugged Podcast, but anyway, I took their advice and went SuperShuttle. It was about $32 round trip, and I think almost every Disneyland area hotel was listed (I am staying rather inexpensive at Eden Roc and it was included).. www.supershuttle.com

Hello, Hollantide:

It is by bib number. Here you go:

B 2351-4375
C 4376-5908

I'm glad I saw this post and checked about pickup for their tickets-- they have the same "at the Expo" policy. I have to have my tickets sent, otherwise I won't be able to use them on Thursday! :sad2:

My bib is 5285, which puts me solidly in C. My proof of time was a 1:06 10K. If I bring proof of time from an under 1 hour 10K, is there any way to tell if that would get me into B? I'm curious if anyone is near the cut off and could let me know their time.

The 1:06 time was based on a race that clocked in at 6.5 miles on all of our GPSs and was quite hilly, so it's not out of the realm of possibilities that I could get in at an hour. I'm mostly just worried about tripping over a bunch of people who run 1 mile and then walk the rest of the course (which is totally fine if that is your thing, but it causes me some road rage, hehe). Also, my run partner will be moving back from A to join me wherever I land.

On the black tank top(ic)... I've been wearing one all summer that I looove. It was really expensive, but it's a Lululemon scoop neck tank, the racer back is actually more like a mesh... All summer I've been wearing it with my minnie mouse polka dot skirt (I run everyday in a costume!) and it dries quickly and has been pretty light.

On the topic of the expo, when is a good time to go? I'm flying in Thursday night, so I'm thinking I'll go when it opens on Friday, will it be less busy then? I mean, I have to get my I did it t-shirt (how much do they go for?), get my picture in front of the castle cutout thing, oogle the wine and dine medal... I got an email from runDisney about the race and literally jumped up and down yelling "I'm doing it! Mickey, here I come!"

And if anyone wants to post costume pictures I'd love to see them... A friend asked if I just run so I can wear a costume, I said, "nothing else gets me to go further than a 10k!"

Is this listed somewhere on the runDisney site? Is 1-30 professionals? Last year elite bibs (i think they were blue instead of the normal gold) were into at least the 150's...

Joining in here... I just registered today for this race! (GET Travel still had a few spots open). I live in Maine and have been planning on the Princess Half in February for my first 1/2. DH is traveling to Anaheim for work in late August...I saw GET still had some spots... and we used frequent flyer miles to get me and the kids out to join him. Very psyched! I've got to ramp up the training as I'm only up to 8.5 miles. Can't wait to go back to the beginning and read this entire thread.

Ok. This is where it gets tricky. I called the GET travel & they say expo for pick up or shipping are only choices. I need mine for Thursday too. Well I order tickets & pay for shipping. Get my invoice via email & it says you can pick up before expo at DTD ESPN at certain times. Ok??? Why wasn't I told this on phone. Why does it say only expo until AFTER you pay for shipping??

I'm not going to fuss or fight because I'll have them sent & that way I'll know I have them when I need them.

It is now listed on the Disney web site. Elites have been 1-30 ever since the second DL half. Maybe the legacy runners had different bibs? I know this because I made elite corral the first year (very cool), but have been in the 60s ever since (not quite as cool). Elite for men have a qualifying <1:20 half marathon.

Good to know that I won't die in black. I'll have to check out that lulu brand.

The gold is the Legacy runners not Elite (though Elites could be Legacy..)

Final Countdown is on now we have the final race instruction emails :)

I found it really funny that the finish line was described as a 10 minute walk from miles 2.5-2.7 for spectators... I guess I'm taking the long route?

And a question about the passes: I got one with my race entry, does anyone know if they're easy to change to a three day park hopper? Can we upgrade the ticket that comes with the ChEAR package?

I have been looking at the weather there in Anaheim. Wish it was like it here in Texas with its trip digits. Have been really hard to do my long runs and causing me to worry a bit.

Shuttles from LAX are either SuperShuttle like the OP mentioned or the DL Express. Either 1 works and has pros and cons, I think Super is a bit cheaper. ou can make reservations online and pay ahead of time to take that hassel out. On the way back to the airport, they have set times to pick you up depending on your flight, but count on earlier than 5, b/c it's LAX and they account for traffic and other pickups.

As for Sunday, there's DTD. Catal is a good restuarant there. You could head over to the DLH, by the pool there's a fun bar/restaurant called Trader Joe's. There's also the Garden Walk. It's on the Harbor side of DL, by Disney Way and is an easy walk. They have shops and food there also. No eating inside the parks though, you'll have to pay for park admission.

Does anyone have experience with 'actual' start times? The only race I have done started at 9am but my corral didn't get going till at least 930.

The time b/w the corrals isn't too bad. It's usually b/w 5-7 min. b/w each one. They're right on time starting for runners at 5:45, wheelchairs go off at 5:40. They're usually right on schedule b/c we're on the roads and the city needs them to reopen on time.

And a question about the passes: I got one with my race entry, does anyone know if they're easy to change to a three day park hopper? Can we upgrade the ticket that comes with the ChEAR package?

Unless it's changed from the past, I don't think you can upgrade the tix, b/c they are "specially priced" tix. I tried that w/ the tix from the 5k from Tink this year and a friend tried to upgrade the chear package a few years ago, and both times they said no. You can always try when you get there, it never hurts to ask, they might say yes. :goodvibes

I'm C2C this year with Princess being my first. Just want to make sure I don't need to do anything to get it.... I keep feeling I was supposed to fill something out or there should be something on my waiver. Can anyone walk me thru what to "do" to get my extra bling!

Thank you!
