Lurkyloo (and any others who have recent input) - I need to place an order in the next week or so for my DD birthday cake. It looks like we'll be having dinner at Jiko and celebrating there with extended family and CAAAAAAKE! Yay! I wanted to ask your opinions on the best cake and icing flavors. I've never met a piece of cake I didn't like, but I've been reading that some of the cakes or icing choices seemed to be better than others. Would appreciate anyone's feedback on cake and/or icing flavors that were DA BOMB. Thanks!

After reading this thread for a year, I am excited to finally post the cake I had made for my husband for his Birthday. We had dinner at Sanaa, and I had worked with the pastry team at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I told them we were going to MNSSHP and also Halloween Horror Nights so I wanted a Halloween themed cake and I sent them several pictures of what I wanted, and told them I wanted the leaves and the cake to have fall colors. The leaves were colored sugar. This cake was above and beyond what we would have dreamed of!!!! It looked great!!!! It was a 8 inch chocolate cake with peanut butter mouse. I was quoted $70 for the cake, but when the bill came I was charged $40!!!!! I was doing the happy dance!!! It tasted as good as it looked!!!View attachment 126116

That is the best cake!! Love it! They did a great job - I love the mickey ghost!

Wow I LOVE your cake! :) The peanut butter mousse filling is one of my favorites!

My favorite combinations are red velvet with cream cheese frosting (NOT their cream cheese mousse filling) or chocolate ganache with peanut butter frosting (NOT their peanut butter mousse filling). I find their mousse fillings too wimpy....

That's like the cutest cake ever! I love it!

So I've emailed the contemporary two times and still no response, it's been about 10 days since the first email. Any advice? I am at 31 days from trip but 36 from the date I want the cake for

Just wondering can you get a fancy cake delivered to the pirates and pals cruise?
I'm sure the answer is in these threads somewhere but I really can't find it.

You still have time yet, but you might try calling.

Yes, because it departs from the Contemporary. Complete details on ordering from the Contemporary are in Post #2.

Hello! I really enjoy this thread and reading about everyone's cake-filled adventures! I'd like to order a cake for our November trip. There are four of us - two adults, a 9 yo and a 5 yo. Is a mini cake enough? After reading a few posts I'm worried a 6 inch cake will be too large. I was hoping to get a Steamboat Willie theme if that makes a difference on size (it doesn't have to be super fancy, a screen print would be fine). Thank you cake experts!

Cake people, another question please. We have added two more days to our vacation but it is at the Dolphin and then onto Beach Club. My question is one bakery better than another regarding good cake and decoration quality? Ideally if the bakery that services Dolphin is outstanding then I'd like to order to have it for our trip. We like cake for breakfast with coffee well and at night with adult beverage. So I say all this to ask which bakery is better for Dolphin or Beach Club? Thank you for help!

I had a mini earlier this month for 2 adults and 2 children, 7 and 4. It was plenty of cake for us. Each of the 2 tiers was 3 layers.

Ok...I wanted to get a quote for a cake, but I did not want to call because I am afraid of lacking of english words and other mistakes in communication. So I wrote an Email to the Contemporary-Cake-Mail-Address. We want to get a cake for Dinner at Kona Cafe at the Poly. I thought they service all MK-resorts by mailing to the CR address. I immediately got an answer stating that this is the wrong email address and that they only service CR, MK, WL and FW. Ok...but where can I mail my inquiry now!? My english is not that good to inquire a cake with details by phone...

Anyone got another email address?

Poly is serviced by the GF, and only CR and MK have public email addresses. But you could try calling GF and asking if they would provide an email address where you could send your request?

I had the same problem too. I sent 2 emails and never received a response. I had to send a 3rd email and I finally got a response. :)

You should each be able to get a couple of bites of a mini cake. The thing is, there's not a lot they can do with mini cakes decor-wise. But maybe they could put a standing screen print of Steamboat Willie on the plate next to the cake...

The Swan & Dolphin have an in-house pastry chef who has apparently won a lot of awards. I've had some of his desserts at the resort's Wine & Dine event. What you get will not be like the old-fashioned buttercream cakes you can get at Disney resorts, but if you like fancy, complicated desserts and prefer whipped cream frosting to buttercream, you may love what you get at the Dolphin. Me, I'd order the cake from the Beach Club.

You can have a cake delivered to P & P , but it is not really the best location for that. The cake would be delivered during the 30 min meet & greet portion of the party before you go on the boat. Not only would your time to enjoy it be very short, you would then have to transport it with you while out viewing the FW and during the meet & greet with Peter Pan.

I heard back - had an email from Brian from 7 am this morning! His email signature says he works Thurs - Mon so that might be why people weren't hearing back since he wasn't at work! He can do a 6 inch buttercream cake with a standing 2D of Jack skellington with bats, spider webs and skulls for $68. So now I have to call the cake hotline. So what's that like? Do I just tell them everything I wrote to him in my email? I emailed him a picture - how do the cake hotline people know? Or does he save my email and compare the order? Just worried that the cake hotline people won't understand what I'm describing! Nervous!!!!!
