Also, two different interviews with the director and someone else right after last season's finale said Rex is really dead.

Don't know if they'd lie, but it looks like it's for real to me! :confused3

Personally, I think that it is her son, but there's something else going on there if you know what I mean. Also, when he told Danielle that his father died too, and the mother said "You, making up stories about your father being dead" and he said something about it being there cover story. I think that it's his father in the basement, and he didn't condone this *ahem* between his wife and their son.

Disgusting I know, but it's just a theory.

and a new member of the DisBoards. . .glad I found this thread. . .I also think there might be a relationship possibility with Bree's daughter(can't remember her name) and the new neighbor's son, Matthew... I could see how Bree wouldn't be too keen on the idea of inter-racial dating.
I thought the same thing about Bree's daughter and Matthew.

Ehhh.. not too thrilled with the season premere. Lost was so much better. M. Cross was very good. Can't believe Gabby would have a baby.

Am I the only one that STILL doesn't accept that Rex is really dead even after seeing him at the funeral? I suspect that maybe he is faking his death since he thinks Bree was trying to kill him. It's a stretch, I know, but hey, this is DH and they have had crazier storylines before!

Me too, I wonder if Rex is really dead.

Hey! I've seen a few people who have tags that say 'I'm Bree.' Any idea if this is Desperate Housewives related? Is there a quiz somewhere you can take that will tell you which housewife you are most like? Anyone know?

Yes, there was a thread with a link to a quiz. I don't remember what it was, but if you search for it, you'll probably find it.

Watched the hand OVER AND OVER, the color is VERY hard to figure out. I think the lighting was made that way on purpose...duh...

There is NO WAY that Matthew is her son. They're a little too cuddly, it's a clue.

Me too and Me too!

New neighbor plays organ at Rex's funeral as Bree asked her to. New neighbor and son Matthew are hiding someone locked up in their basement. The last scene shows them taking a meal tray down to locked up person with a red rose on tray-that new neighbor keeps referring to. We see a hand with a shackle on it reach up to tray., Looked like black hand to me.

Could it be Rex in the basement? Didn't Bree serve him meals on a tray with a rose a time or two?

This show is gonna drive me nuts this season. It was so good last season and seems like it's gonna be even better this season.

Why would they have Rex? Not that I'm doubting it b/c on DH, ANYTHING can happen!!

I agree that the rose on the tray was a "very Bree" thing to do. However, I am curious why it might be Rex in the basement?! I am not saying this to be mean or nasty -- but trying to understand why/what motive could they have for keeping Rex chained up in the basement?! IE: Do you think that maybe he botched a surgery on Betty Applewhite's (Alfrie Woodard) husband/mother/family member? Maybe Rex knows some deep secret about their family or he's blackmailing them!? I just wonder why people might think it's Rex in the basement?! Would love to know why those in the "Rex is in the basement" boat feel this way!!!

I def. thought it was Rex (as opposed to a wax dummy) in the coffin. Unless someone did a face transplant and put Rex's face on someone else's body?! Had they "cremated" Rex, I could def. see that maybe he "made arrangements" w/someone in the hospital to "skip out of town" and start a new life or could have been kidnapped by Betty Applewhite.

I also agree that Betty and her son seem a bit "too close" for mother/son. Esp. the scene on the porch!!! Prob. played that way on purpose ... to put that thought in our mind. B/c if you think of the scene at the piano, she was very "oh, this reminds me of your Grandma" and mom-ish. However, maybe she just likes 'em young and has this charade that he's her son so she won't raise eyebrows!?

BTW - I think Gabreille's DNA paperwork was phony. I think she just slapped something together to appease Carlos. I found it funny that, when talking to Carlos about the affair, she said "It's not like I murdered anyone!" Uh -- came pretty close to it w/Mama Seles!

I was completely hysterical when Bree was walking through the church, deliberately looking at every man's tie ... then asked Tom for his, propped up Rex's bod in the coffin and proceeded to whip off his tie and replace it w/Tom's. I was hysterical!!! I mean, it was such a "Bree" thing to do!!!!

That's true. Adding the rose and the fact that the 'mother' kept saying nice touch seemed so Bree. However, it seemed like this person had been trapped for a while because the 'son' said that he knew the routine and he made up the same tray every night. If it were Rex, they couldn't have had him there for very long. Let's think about this.... Could there be any possible logical connection between them and Rex??? Bree & the daughter didn't act like they knew them at all, so it would have to have been a connection just with him.

I'm pretty sure Rex is really dead!! Why would the producers, directors, etc answer a question with a boldface lie? Certainly that could have just witheld and answer! :rotfl:

Who knows who it really is? And we won't find out for many shows I'm sure. You know how the writers, etc. like to drag this stuff out forever. :teeth:

no kidding! what kills me, is in previess Bree and George look all friendly sometimes............. who KNOWS how long it will be before (and IF) she finds out he essentially murdered Rex! :confused3

I am so itching for this to happen!!!! I so want Bree to know that George was behind this!!!! I cannot wait to see what will happen (IF anything happens)!!!! Somewhere, down the line, you all know this will pop up once we've forgotten all about it!!!

Why didn't the producers cremate Rex to leave the possibility open that he could come back? :confused3 After seeing his dead body, I'm not going to buy it if he suddenly pops up in a few months. I just don't understand why the writers/producers wouldn't have left that possibility open.
