Welcome to the thread. I am not sure about the others but we are already booked with a small deposit. We are planning the 9th to the 19th due to school schedule for my niece's first year in collage. Anyone else want to give examples of how you are booking or not booking the trip yet? Lois

I *think* we have to wait until June to book. We are aiming for AoA, Poly, Last S.O.G. Hoping for A.o.A, but, I will be happy where ever we end up.

Hello and Welcome!!

We booked several months ago, 485 days out or something crazy like that :-):-)

Hey everyone...our countdowns are shrinking! LOVE seeing 11 months on my ticker instead of "one year and..."

I hope everyone is enjoying December. In case I don't get back to the thread before next Friday, Merry Christmas! Happy Hannukah to anyone who celebrated, Happy Kwanzaa, and to everyone - Have a happy and safe new year!

Can't wait for our little board to pick up steam in the next few months as our trips get closer and closer!

I know, following along is part of the fun.

Last weekend, there was nothing with 2015 on it. I like to buy an ornament and a pin of the year we go. So, For this 2016 trip, I plan to buy my ornament and pin like January. Lol.

Hi everyone!

We just moved our trip from March 2016 until Christmas. With schedules and the Canadian dollar we decided that Christmas is a much better option! We have never been to Disney throughout the holidays and are very excited! March was fun but I can't wait to see all the decorations! :) Counting down already!

Morning. Did you get anything Disney for Christmas?

I did. My DH and kids got me a Pandora bracelet with a Mickey charm and a Tinkerbell dangle. My SIL was in Disney, and she picked the Tink charm up for me. My bracelet comes with rules: I can only put Disney charms on my bracelet. They can ONLY come from Jareds or Disney World. :))

Those are rules I can easily follow.

The only real disney thing I got this year was my rebel alliance starbird alex and ani bracelet to go with my others. I already have my dooney and vera, so the only thing I really collect is the alex and ani bangles. I love them and they're addictive!

Excited to say that we will again be going to Disney for Christmas! our last trip was Dec '14 and my DH did mutter the phrase "i don't want to go during Xmas again" well I has talked with one of my ds about doing food and wine(he turns 21 in March) and he was excited but then after dealing with a Christmas at home(all our extended family either lives in Florida-my side, or has their own family/traditions) being just us and having to shop, he has decided Disney Christmas looks pretty nice. A bit sad, it will only be the 2 dd, DH and myself going as the oldest is on his own and has his own plans and the second DS will be with his college team in Puerto Rico.

Looks like we are leaning toward POR Dec. 21-26 the dates may change a day or two (or if FD is released) but at least we have it somewhat pinned down. I do childcare and I am even more excited to have a family we are close to going at the same time. I know that we will take a few days after to go down to see family and the beach(Sarasota, Oviedo, Siesta Key, Anna Maria) and maybe head down to Miami....it may be almost a year away, but I am excited to start the planning

Welcome to the thread!!

Ready to get the planning kicked into high gear :-):-)

Eeeek, I am excited to say that we are going twice in 2016. In August we are going for 4 days for our 20TH wedding anniversary without the kids. I am giddy. We were so young when we got married and did not have a honeymoon. So, this will be super special. I am planning on having some shirts made.

The only thing that I got Disney related wast a Bruins/Mickey t-shirt. I LIKE IT!.

It's officially less than a year for all of us going to to Dis in Dec. Let the ear to ear grins and spontaneous knee pumping with excitement begin.

I do have 1 sort of let down. I always love watching the WDW Christmas parade. Especially on the years when I'm not there to see it in person. This year's broadcast was kind of a let down. In the 2hr broadcast, I'd say maybe 12-15 min was actually parade. A majority of the parade was the stage performances.

Don't get me wrong. I like the stage performances. Especially, the Jason Derulo 1 that led to the wedding proposal. But for me, the time priorities should be as follows:

Parade
Features showing families being rewarded by Disney with vacations
Stage performances (holiday songs ONLY)
Backstage features
The occasional 2-3min commercials about the other parks, cruise lines Aulani

I should've known something was up when in the 1st MINUTE, they showed Mickey & Minnie/Donald & Daisy, and then Santa.

I hope next year's broadcast is better. But if it's not, seeing it live and in person during the MVMCP is WAY better. :teeth: :santa:

Well, I'm cautiously saying add me to the list! Every time we try to plan a trip something happens! We were originally going Jan 2016, but my daughter got chosen for a leadership program the weekend we were to go, so I said ok, February, well the smart one that I am didnt take into consideration that my son would be graduating Basic Training in Feb, happens to be the same time the other kids are out of school. So, I thought a quick weekend trip with just myself and the younger three kids, then my same daughter got a massive concussion, which she is still dealing with, and the medical bills started pouring in.:faint:

So.... after speaking with my son while he was home for leave over the Holidays, we have decided 12/14-12/19. The younger ones will miss a few days of school, but they dont do anything during those days. He and his girlfriend (soon to be fiance ) will probably stay on site using his military discount, and we'll stay offsite using dh's points, if by some Christmas miracle there is free dining then the rest of us will stay on site, probably CBR or POR. My youngest has never been and she is all about the princesses and frozen, she will sit with her dolls and sing any chance she gets, my younger son was only 2.5 when we went the last time, so its kind of a first time for him too.

Woohoo!! Fingers crossed that you stay on the list!!

Any other crazies out there like me who pretty much have the trip already planned??

We're taking it easy this time since we're really there for all things holidays this go around, and it won't be our normal summer vacation trip.

Our focus will be on new stuff, meet and greets, and holiday experiences instead of the normal rope drop ride-a-thons (although, that will surely happen too!)

I REALLY want to make it to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, but 2015's last date was 12/18, and that's our arrival date. I'm afraid the last party date this year will be the 16th, which is devastating to me. Just because we've never been there outside of summer months to take in a special party event. I mean, I use "devastating" in its hyperbolic form, because I will certainly be able to carry on living my life without it, LOL!

"Dream Wants" are as follows:

1) Fast Passes for the night safari at AK
2) Some kind of dinner package for Rivers of Light, preferably at the soon-to-be Tiffins, but would enjoy Tusker House, too
3) If a dinner package for RoL is not a thing that materializes, I'll be stalking a FP for Rivers of Light on its own.
4) Candlelight Processional dinner package at San Angel Inn or Chefs de France
5) *maybe* FPs for Holiday Wishes, or maybe another dessert party...or maybe watch it from the train station. Or maybe all three on different nights!
6) FP for the Jingle Cruise
7) Ride Pirates as many times as possible because I LOVE IT and it was being refurbed when we were there in July
8)FP for the Frozen ride, because it'll be new, and we have to do the new things
9) Meet Chewbacca, my dream come true
10) Lunch at Skipper Canteen

That's what I can come up with off the top of my head! There's a lot more "wants" on my agenda, but these are the major ones.

Anyone else have a "I hope this happens" list yet??

So far I have meals planned except the last night, 1900 dinner, CP, Akershus, BOG for cupcakes
* I want to do something special for DS, it'll be his 21st birthday.
*I know I want to do MVMCP
* thinking about the dessert party
* BBB for dd, she'll be 8

I know I'm not telling the 3 younger kids a blessed thing. They were so disappointed when Jan/Feb didn't work out, so dh and I decided to just pick them up from school and go lol. We'll tell them we're going to FL for Christmas, we're both from there and all our family is there so they won't think anything of it.

Hi all! We are planning a trip for late December 2016! It will me, DH, DD 19, DS 18, DD 17. My kids have never been and I went once when I was small and don't really remember much about it. We are looking forward to being there for Christmas and New Year's. I've not booked yet but have been doing tons of research and hope to learn from everyone on this board. :earsboy:

Hello!! :welcome: to the thread and welcome to the Dis!!

It can get kind of overwhelming around the boards if you're new, but it is home to frequent travelers with a wealth of knowledge to share...just know that you will read a lot of conflicting things from people who say they're doing Disney the "right" way...there really is no "right" way, just the way that works for each family.

We are all here to help as much as possible!!

Have fun planning, don't let yourself get too panicked or stressed out (it happens!), and feel free to ask anything, even if you think it seems silly.

My first trip was when I was 19 and it was amazing, and started me along the path of my Disney World obsession (was already Disney-in-general obsessed from birth, lol), so your kids will have a great time!!

Happy to have you along on the journey to December!
