OFFICIAL December 2009!! Celebrating the Holidays.. ADR list page 41 :)

another rest. we really enjoy, is The Rose and Crown... some people have given really bad reviews, but we have been 3 times, and it's been great everytime. The Mexico rest. was the absolute worst!! We went twice thinking the first time was an off night...apparently not!!!! But, again, I know some people really liked it!!! So...for what it's worth!! Ha!! Le C IS awesome.. we enjoy the food and atmostphere at the Nine Dragons.A good TS at MK is Tonys..if you like spaghetti, lasagne, etc.

Brandy....why don't you go ahead and skip the hoppers...then when you get your days finalized, see if you need them and add them on. You can even wait till the last minute on those.

A big thank you to those who have shared their thoughts on resturants. I believe I have narrowed it down just a little. We can begin to make our ADR next month. Next month that is just around the corner. I had a year to plan the last trip and 4 months to complete this trip. I am so excited to be returning so soon.

Hi Everyone!!

I just subscribed to this thread because I am 99% sure we are going the week of Dec 7. DH and I have to make a decision asap!

It's a long story but we have $850 in free flight credit that has to be booked by mid Oct and we've been going back and forth on what to do. We went on our 1st Disney trip last Sept during free dining. We already went to the beach this year on vacation with my family and next year is the year for his familes big vacation so we weren't sure if we could squeeze in (afford) another trip.

BUT...I think we are going to be able to do it and I am so psyched!! It sounds so awesome there at Christmas time!

The free dining extension is what did it. Now we are just debating should we stay at a value (stayed at POR last time) to save a few bucks or just go for a moderate again?

What are your thoughts on Carribean Beach vs. Coronado Springs? We loved POR but want to try a different resort.

Also....we are debating on going from Sat to Sat - 7 nights or going from Mon to Sun - 6 nights. It would only save like $200 but the flight times and prices work out better on the Mon through Sun.

And what are your thoughts on getting the hopper? That would save us some money also. We got it last time and in the entire week we only used it 1 time. Our kids are 5 and 3 so we really can't hop around as easy as you could with older ones (stroller, etc..). I'm just worried if we don't get it then we'd really need it or something. And my thoughts are if we go Mon - Sun, we'll have 5 and a half days and we'd have less days to go back and hop around if we wanted.

Can't wait to join in!

Welcome to December BDiddy! I am going Sun 12/6 - Fri 12/11 and staying at CBR. WARNING: Pop Warner Cheerleaders and Football Players are set to stay at CSR 12/7-12/12. That was enough to sway me to CBR! We'll be traveling with a 2 y/o and we've opted to NOT get the hoppers and take it slow and steady through each park.

There's my 2 cents. Hope it helps and I hope you and your family are able to make this trip happen :goodvibes

We have changed our dates again. We are going December 17-27. I get free dining for the entire time we are there :cool1: I have to think of 10 table services that I want to go to. We can use two credits at time since we are going off property to US/IOA a couple of days.

Grandma4ever,

We really enjoyed Liberty Tree Tavern at dinner one evening, it was kinda like a Thanksgiving/Christmas meal. We ate there on our MVMCP night, so it just added to the festivities. We have eaten at many of the TS restaurants, but some stick out more than others.

We usually prefer breakfast over dinner, so the rest of my reviews are for breakfast.

Chef Mickey's is a must, great food and character interaction

O'hana, 1900 Park Fare, Boma, and Crystal Palace all great food and character interaction.

DH wants to eat at Biergarten, so I may book a lunch there, but I am not excited. Hopefully I can find something to eat there.

I want to try Coral Reef. And we may try breakfast at Cape May Cafe and Tusker House.

I think we have found a way to pay for our trip, we have sort of taken in a houseguest (cousin's BF) and we can use the rent to pay for our trip. Cross your fingers.

Suzanne

So excited! Booked at Contemporary, 12/4 - 12/8. Just there in May, but looking forward now to our first Christmas trip. Definitely going to do MVMCP...have read so many wonderful things about it. Can't wait to see the spectacle of lights. As I understand it, they will be filming the ABC parade while we are there, does anyone know how to get tickets to this or if it is something to try to see or something rather to be avoided? Planning on reserving 1900 Park Faire, Askerhus, Crystal Palace, and Chef Mickey's. So excited we got the Free Dining Plan!!!! :santa: Merry Christmas!

We have eaten at the Coral Reef twice and really enjoyed both times. I have read reviews where folks have said they did not like the food or had slow service. However, both our times have been some of the best for us. I would recomend that you give it a try.

We may not eat there again this trip as I am wanting to try some different resturants at Epcot this year. The other resturant we want to go back to this year is Tappan Edo. We ate there for the 1st time in July and I want to go back. I think the new one will be Le Celliers. I understand most this this one is one of the best.

I too have Park Hoppers now and I am not sure I need to keep them. I want to go to some of the Evening EMH and if we do we will use the hopper because I do not want that park to be our main park. I may also need the hopper to be able to eat in some new resturants because of the number of options at Epcot. I have a few weeks to make my final decision and change my ressies. The other time I think we will want to use the hopper will be that l;ast day to revisit the rides we love the best one last time. That would mean going back to each of the parks just to ride a ride or two.

I have ridemax so I can plan around and see what might be the best way to do this. I am sure are waits will be longer but we can do plans that begin and stop at different times.

I still have at least one more night I need to confirm where to eat. Keep the personal reviews comming!!! Thanbk you so much. Lois

We just booked our trip for Decmeber 1st to the 7th at ASMo and even though I think that I would love to do the MVMCP thing, I have 2 girls that will be 1.5 and almost 3.75 when we go and think we will want to be heading back to our room no later than 8pm, which means a whole lot of money for only an hour of party - so I think we will skip out - I'm also trying to decide if we want to tack on the hopper option, I'm thinking it might be a good idea

I know what you mean about the Christmas party....I think in order to get your money's worth, you need to plan on staying late. I was on the fence about it, and we decided to give it a try, and when DD 1 gets tired, DH will take her back to the room and I will stay w/ my other daughter (she'll be 5). Our plan is to do a short day at DS, then go back to the room to chill out for awhile. Hopefully they kids will be rested up and hold out a little later than usual to enjoy the party.

I think hoppers are a good option with kids. We plan on having a few days where we go to the MK in the morning then back to the room for a break, and then hop to Epcot for dinner. I think it would be around $150 to upgrade tickets for 3, so its definitely not a must, but might add some flexibility that would be nice with the little ones.

We took my daughter when she was 18 months and when she was a little over 3, and they were both great trips! I can't wait to take her back this time now that she's able to go on almost all the rides.

Have a good trip!

I too am wondering whether or not to do the Christmas party... it's gonna be about $250 for us... I don't know if I want to spend it or not. I talked to DH about it last night... we have done it before, so it's not something we haven't seen. I know the party at the Castle fore front will be different.... but the parade is probably the same one we saw before...
We haven't seen the Osborne lights yet, and they are free!!! So, that's one night. We really want to see Steven Curtis Chapman at the CP, so that's night #2..... I want a few nights to be at the room and watch fireworks from there & get to bed early...while everyone else is filing outta there:rotfl:

We will wait til closer to time and see...if we do the MVMCP, I don't know yet if it'll be Sun night DEC 6, or Thur DEC 10. What do ya'll think between those days?

I am looking for some help. I have a few days I cannot decide where I want to eat. So I want to hear where some of your favorite places are to eat. Please include resturants both at the resorts and at the parks. I also want to know why you enjoy that resturant. We are all getting closer to the 90 day mark when we can make our ADR. Thank you. Lois

We loved Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. The food was very good and it was all you could eat. It was simple, comfort food which is what my family likes (We are not froo froo eaters) and we are going to go again this trip even though it doesn't have the characters. They've got sliced ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans and mac and cheese.

We are also going to try Mickey's Backyard BBQ which does have characters. We've never been before so if anyone has, I'd love to know what you think.

Add me to the list for December 2009!!:santa:
We will be at the AllStarSports on Dec11th(my bday:yay:)-Dec16th!
Got free dining, but opted for the QS DDP. We'll see how it works out.

How did you get free dining thru 12/27 if you don't mind my asking? I thought that ended before those dates.

Just wanted to say that I love the pic in your sig...is that you? That's awesome!! ha!!!!

HAHA! I wish it was me!!:rotfl: It's the cast of LOST, my favorite TV show. I could not resist putting it on my sig, to see my favorite show in my favorite place was too much for my heart!!:lovestruc

Wow, for $250 and considering you've done it before, I think I might skip it this time. I hear the Osborne Lights are really cool, and if you do CP, you'll definitely get plenty of that Christmas "experience".

Hi all, just chiming in that we just booked the free dining plan deal for 11/29-12/3 in wilderness cabins, but only 1 full park day (Epcot, to see the countries decorated and the candlelight processional) as well as MVMVP for one evening. The rest of the time we'll be exploring ft wilderness, seeing the christmas lights on the RVs there, the sing along campfire & movie, etc. Still trying to choose between hoop-de-doo and mickey's bbq, we can use 2 table services for both, so the price is not a factor. Any suggestions on which one a 8 and 7 year old (both of whom have sophisticated tastes) might like?

Can't wait!

If you book the package with your date beginning during the offer dates, you can extend it past the end date.

example, Her check in date is Dec 17, the last date the Free Dining Package is avail, so she can extend it until her check out date which happens to be Dec 27.
