OFFICIAL December 2009!! Celebrating the Holidays.. ADR list page 41 :)

We will be at WDW 11/30-12/9! :cool1: We can not wait to be back during the holiday time. I have decided to skip the Christmas party this time. We actually enjoyed Osbourne Lights more than the party last year!

We'll be there the same time! :thumbsup2
We're still debating going to the Xmas party. Would you recommend it if we've never done it before? Or should we skip it and save the money?!

Going to OKW 12/11 to 12/14.
Taking my DD & sister only!
I am doing the whole Christmas time:santa: thing for the first time. We are going to the MVMCP on the 13th. I have never been so it is all new for me.
We are planning on going to Epcot the 12th. don't know yet about the candlelight procession. depending on ADR's we may just stroll along and listen to the show...i don't think DD will want to sit for the whole thing.

HAHA! I wish it was me!!:rotfl: It's the cast of LOST, my favorite TV show. I could not resist putting it on my sig, to see my favorite show in my favorite place was too much for my heart!!:lovestruc

Very cool siggy! I had never seen that picture before. I love seeing Charlie!!!

I too am wondering whether or not to do the Christmas party... it's gonna be about $250 for us... I don't know if I want to spend it or not. I talked to DH about it last night... we have done it before, so it's not something we haven't seen. I know the party at the Castle fore front will be different.... but the parade is probably the same one we saw before...
We haven't seen the Osborne lights yet, and they are free!!! So, that's one night. We really want to see Steven Curtis Chapman at the CP, so that's night #2..... I want a few nights to be at the room and watch fireworks from there & get to bed early...while everyone else is filing outta there:rotfl:

We will wait til closer to time and see...if we do the MVMCP, I don't know yet if it'll be Sun night DEC 6, or Thur DEC 10. What do ya'll think between those days?

If you decide to go, go on the 6th! That's when we're going!! I'm hoping for lower crowds, but we have another day to do MK too. We figure we have to try the $200 hot chocolate! Is it any good? (I read one report where the people waited in line forever for it and didn't get to see much else!!) We're planning one evening at DHS for the lights and one at EPCOT for the CP too. We'll have one "free" evening to do whatever. It's gonna be a jam packed trip!!

We just got back from Virginia tonight. It was hot and humid!!! Reminded me of FL in June. But we went to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. It was fun, but it was definitely not Disney. I kept comparing things about it! I guess I'm a Disney snob. :)

I read on another thread that they are going back to 180 day ADRS in October!! Thanks a lot!! AARRRRGH!!!!
One more month to go before I can make therm!
Here's my preliminary list:

Sunday 12/6, MK - Tony's dinner then MVMCP

Monday 12/7, DHS - Sci Fi Dinner

Tuesday 12/8, Epcot - LeCellier early dinner/CP package

Wednesday 12/9, MK - no ADRs

Thursday 12/10, Ohana breakfast and head to the cruise

I based these on last year's hours/EMHs and of course, it's subject to change. I'd rather not go to Ohana again, but would rather try Kona. THe others in my group want to go there. Might try to get Kona in before the rest of our group arrives and just pay OOP. Anyone have any info on which meal is best there? I want to try them all, but no time!!

We will be at Disney from 12/26-12/30. Will everything still be decorated during that time? We will be staying at the Fort Wilderness Cabins. We will be spending Christmas from 12/22-12/25 at my parents in Daytona.

Well ladies, count me in on the agony of MVMCP decision making! We're going the same time as you and are debating on the 6th or the 10th as well. We arrive at 10:30AM on the 6th and I am thinking, what better way to jump start our vacation?! :woohoo: But, I too am going to wait and see as we will be traveling with my newly 2 year old DD and it's on our MUST list (it may be on MY must list, but not OUR list :rotfl2:). Mndisneygirl, did you already purchase your tickets for the 6th?

Yes, I ordered them pretty much right when they went on sale. The CM told me that was a "good night" but I don't know why. Wish I would have asked. I already knew I was limited to two nights to choose from and figured it would be a good way to start our trip. This will probably be the only time I go in December ever, so I'm definitely doing it.

Based on allears.net Dec 6th is a AP/DVC discount day (as is Dec 8th). I don't know if this will make the number of party-goers more or stay the same. So I am also tossing that back and forth. I guess ultimately I am waiting for the calendars to be released so I can see which day, 6th, 8th or 10th, will work out best for us.

Hi!

Yes everything will still be decorated on those dates... the only other time I've been to wdw in the holidays was 12/27 - 01/02 ... and everything was still up - christmas trees & decorations in all the parks as well as the osbourne lights in DHS :santa:

I would definitely recommend it if you have never done it. We did it last year and it was fun. I just could not justify spending the money 2 years in a row. However, it you are looking to save the money Osborne Lights is beautiful and free with park admission. This is by far our favorite thing to see!

We're doing a short trip.

We have passes from when DH worked there that expire on Dec. 17. We are surprising our boys (ages 10 and 2) by staying at All Star Sports. They think we'll be with friends!

We are going to look into booking a week long in 2011.

Welcome to the December thread and to the DIS.

Can I be added to the list? We arrive the 17th and leave the 23rd! Grand gathering of 10! I don't think we are going to MVMCP because we went last time and my SIL doesn't think its worth the money this time (but I do lol).

After much agonizing I have changed our dates from 12-6 thru 12-12 TO 11-29 thru 12-5. I was really nervous about all the issues with Pop Warner crowds plus I spoke with the kid's High School counselor, and he said if they were to miss a week the week after Thanksgiving would be the way to go. That just sealed the deal. When I was talking to the CM that changed our dates I brought up the taping of the parade issue. He said that it is not even scheduled at this point, and that it is taped during off hours. He said it would be most likely taped between 7-9 am over a couple of days. I just figured I would mention it since some people were concerned about crowds on those days. Ok, now that it's done I can relax and countdown the days!!! :woohoo:

We are also going to MVMCP on the 6th, and we are eating @ Tony's also. Maybe we'll see ya there! Have fun!:yay:

We went in 2005 and loved it...then we went twice in 2007 and still loved it....last year we went and felt like we totaly wasted our money, the night we went was family night for the CMs and there were double if not triple the amount of people from any other night we were ever there.... this year we have decided to skip it:santa:

The parade is usually taped the first weekend of Dec, Fri thru Sun, mostly on Fri and Sat morning from about 7am until I have heard about 2pm, and Sun is just in case. I think they tape some little bit parts in the other parks as well. I don't think it affects much of the park, except Main Street and the Castle area in the MK.

Just booked 11/28-12/5 at Pop Century a couple of days ago! I'm excited, I used my 40% off code and everything! I'm just nervous about this week, right after Thanksgiving, I'm hoping the crowds won't be bad...and the airports...I'm kind of dreading leaving the Saturday after Thanksgiving. :scared1: I'm considering moving my vacation to 12/5-12/12 just because i'm so nervous about the airport situation! I'd lose my 40% off though...anyone have any opinions? Has anyone traveled the Sat. after thanksgiving, is it bad?

We traveled the Friday after Thanksgiving 2 yrs ago and everything was smooth! We are doing it again this year!!!!:banana::banana::banana::cool1::cool1:

Count us in!!!! WE are going to be there from 11/27-12/5. MVMCP on the 1st! What a way to start off December eh?
