Well here we are in Nov and the other Dec thread out here is more about helping a first timer to the FORT WILDERNESS. So maybe it's about time time we find out who is going
Lucille and I have reservations for Friday 21 Dec into Jan 2019. We will be in a full hook up site hopefully in the 1600 or 1800 loop. We leave home the 14th and will spend 3 days on the road traveling followed by
4 days at Lazy Days outside of Tampa. While there we will a recall issue for the coach taken care of. We also each of us take their Driver Confidence Course and maybe hit some of the free seminars they offer. Then early on the 21st head up I 4 for Fort Wilderness

I will be there along with DW and 'Lil Medic ( Savannah ). We are leaving VT on the 19 and heading over to Destin to spend Christmas with my parents and sister. Then we will be leaving the night of the 28 for the drive over to the Fort for a 6:05 check-in time on the 29, also hoping for the 1600 loop. I have had our ADR made for awhile, and also have a GC rented for the first 4-5 days that we are there. We will be checking out on Jan. 12 and heading back to cold and snowy VT. Hope to see you there.

We will be at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness from December 12-19th. We are so excited! (We have a 1 night stay at Wilderness Lodge and then headed to the cabins). Hoping for a cabin near the entrance as we will be using Uber the whole time for our transportation. :)

We will be checking in Christmas day and leaving on the 31st. Not doing any parks as our passes are blacked out at that time, but we always find plenty to do. We always hit Disney Springs, do some mini golf and resort hop to see all the decorations.

@dedesmith32 Please check the thread The Adventures of the Traveling Fire Pit.
It is a fairly mobile fire pit passed around from camper to camper and we need some help transitioning it from person to person during your stay.
It would be very much appreciated, even if you don't use it, if you could be its caretaker til it could get passed along. :teeth:

Well, we missed our Fort trip at the end of September because of work travel to Finland. But, the Food & Wine Festival was calling so we did a quick weekend trip at the end of October. We stayed at All-Star Movies and enjoyed it, but we are ready to get back to The Fort.

We plan to leave Birmingham after school on Dec 14. We'll probably stop at the Ocala rest area for a few hours then head in to The Fort early on the 15th. We have FP+ for the Mountains at MK on arrival day. Also, I saw this past weekend that The Plaza is serving breakfast for a limited time and was able to get an ADR that morning as well. And to end the day, dinner at Trails End. Should be a good first day.

Okay so we will arrive on the morning of the 21st to a packed day. Hoping to get there between 9 and 10, We are hoping the rush won't have started yet and can a site on arrival. Otherwise we will have to leave the kids alone in the coach while we run over to Guest Relations outside of Mk for our AP"s and TIW cards. And back to Overflow and an outing for the kids. Again hope our site is ready so we can do some setting up before I need to run over and meet with Kenny from Tee Time to get our cart. Dinner will be our traditional We Are Here visit to Trails End . To be followed by more sthe setting up and decorating and if we are lucky some looping to see decorations around the The Fort.
Sat the 22nd we have some MK time planned. This is tough as we normally once we make it an official DISNEY Trip by entering t Town Square then hopping on the Rail Road for the ride to Fantasy Land. Guess we'll just have to make do walking to Adventure Land for the JINGLE Checking on Pirates of the Caribbean. Then head back to Tony's for another tradition for us as we have made that our first and last park meal over the past few years. Hope to catch the evening parade before we eat then back to the coach and the girls
Sun 23rd. Today we hit EPCOT. Planning to take the Bus over to DHS then a Friendship Launch over to International Gate this way we are at France in WS to have an early dinner at Chefs De France for the dining portion of Guaranteed seating for The Candlelight Processional. We were really hoping for Gary Sinese again this year but his booking ends the day we arrive and we have too much to do to make that work. Afterwards we intend to head out doing some Holiday decor touring of France , England and Canada , As we are heading out anyway I did score a FP for Spaceship Earth then back to The Fort.

For those that don't know and would like to, the price for the dinner at TE went up to $35 per person. Just wanted to put it out there as some have posted on other sites that they were not aware and when they got their bill they were quite shocked.

Mike,

Given the BAD luck you've had in your last two Fort trips (no need to revisit), I think it's time to try something different to bring you GOOD luck next month.

Before we go right to the top and invoke the good Lord, I want to try an intermediate step.

Me and the guys here want to bring in JOBU. As we talked amongst ourselves, we were reminded that an offering of rum and cigars might be acceptable to Jobu which would then get you to the Fort in one piece (and back home).

Seriously, I'm really pulling for you to make it this time.

PS - Jobu made his cinematic debut in the movie, Major League.

Leaving from near Toronto on December 9. My wife talked me into a few days in South Florida near Sawgrass Mills to finish up the shopping. We will be checking in at The Fort on December 19th. Kids will fly in on the 22nd and home later on January 3. We will hang around and recover until leaving The Fort on January 6. Last year I broke wrist and spent the first 3 days in the hospital, but made it back for Xmas day. This year I am hoping for a less eventful stay.

We just got back today, 11/13, from my birthday trip to the Fort. As I went to get breakfast from TE takeout, I saw these:

They were not there last night. So cool to get a glimpse before we left, just makes me more excited for our Christmas trip.

I've read on the Resorts board that there is a drawing for when different resorts get their Christmas decorations up. So the day can vary from year to year. But this is earlier than in the past so that means more Fort campers can enjoy them.

Sorry your birthday trip is over, Terri. Hope you and Greg booked next year already for #51. :cake:

If that fails, I can go by KFC and get some chicken to sacrifice...

Ed and Michael thanks to both of you for the added invocations for better travels this year. I did get POPEYE's and BoJangles for requisite sacrifices. I have also asked for help from GUS HOWARD and YODA so will just have to wait and see. Had the Banshee Brougham all serviced up in Oct. Then Winterized her going to start the cleaning and packing if the rain ( Been an every other day affair here so bad that the trail to my preferred post to harvest the fixings ie free range black and kidney beans, for my venison chili had become a pond and or creek ) ever stops.

Okay, so next up for or us is Christmas Eve. A significant day for us as I get to to use my True and given name Ebeneezer. With everything going on inside Ft Wilderness we will stick close to home base. We do have a reservation for lunch at WCC in WL where Disney Officials have assured me that there where will be enough Hijinx, Antics, and Shenanigans to make and keep my son Happy. They have as of yet to identify to me who either my son or his mother are. Before we leave WL I will have to check their shops and see if I can't stock up on some Ferret Fart Soap, this while while I may be an OLD ONE , I can at least smell like a Fresh One
Last year when Lucille and I tossed around the idea of decorating in some small manner our Golf Cart. Wookiebear was not amused. While she loved to ride around with Daddy she found the idea of adding Tinsel and Lights and some ornaments gauche. And promised if I did it to draw it to the attention of the proper authorities to insure I had to participate in the Ride Of Shame and would personally escort me to see to it I was there to be publicly humiliated. Her proteges Sky and Katie have taken her mantle So it looks like my meager efforts will be on display. Dinner will likely be at the Coach and along the lines of Tube Steaks and Burgers followed I think by the hay ride and Beach activities.

Christmas Day. This is going to be a very laid back day for us. We expect the girls will let us sleep in till like 7 am before getting us up to their presents. After seeing to them we'll do a full breakfast at the coach. Lucille and I will likely do a looping tour of the Fort before heading out to tour the Monorail Resorts. We expect to return by mid afternoon for an Early Dinner at Trail's End.
Dec 26 and 27th will hopefully have us touring World Showcase for the Live action shows and Christmas Decorations from around the world. We intend to dine these days at the various kiosks in WS these days checking out the assorted fare from around the World.

Mike I so admire your planning. Last year was our first year at the Fort. First year with a new giant fifth wheel, and what was supposed to be one of my wife’s last trips. She is battling stage 4 cancer. I had planned everything. MVMC party, dinner reservations every night, loaded up with fast passes. Golf cart pick up, drop off even meeting some friends from an RV forum. I flew the kids in on Dec 20th and while waiting for girls to be ready for our first exciting day, I took the dog for a ride on the bike. She sits in the basket (tethered to her harness) just like home. Except the harness in the trailer is a little different. At the first squirrel she tried to jump. I saved the dog but it wasn’t pretty. We sent the kids off to MK and went to Celebration to check my wrist. Long story short after being moved to Orlando South, 3 days, surgery and a $58,000 bill(Canadians - Insurance is a must) I returned for Christmas Eve.
So my plans were all shot. Along this journey we met the nicest people, we were treated like royalty, and my wife and family think it’s one of the best times we ever had together. My wife keeps fighting and this year we are determined to enjoy the Fort again.
Still have a few plans, a couple dinner reservations and a cart, but a lot less stress I hope. One of the angels we met last year has invited us to see her in the Candlelight Processional and that’s really our only Must Do. We will be in the 700 loop (I hope) surrounded by every Buddy the Elf blowup we could find. Cheers
