Official Dancing With the Stars, season 16 thread

Back from my DD's swimming and watching the show.

Ingo and Kym - He was a LOT better when not dancing against Tony. Kym's bow on her butt has more fabric than the rest of her costume. I agree with Mr. Grumpy that Ingo has to work on his technique.

Jacoby and Karina - I *loved* his dance! I thought that they danced longer than Ingo and Kym. Darn it! Why did they have to partner my M-M-Maks with that *ahem* Anna? Ick. Thankfully, Jacoby took his shirt off and I didn't miss my M-M-Maks too much when they danced off the floor.

Victor and Lindsay - Victor was so much better this week! I want to slap that girl who decided to two time him. The man she's seeing must be an idiot. Why would you step out with a boxer's girl?!?! I'm glad he was able to channel it in a direction that didn't include breaking the other guy's nose.

Aly and Mark - Oh noes! "The Samba is all about the shimmy shakin'!" Mark was back to his old tricks. Shimmy count = 6. OK ... gotta give Aly some slack. I didn't know she was from Boston. What a nice tribute.

Sean and Peta - What a cheat! They did their side by side on a tiny little stage. I disagreed with the judges. I thought Sean was sloppy and I pretty much hated Peta's blonde blaxploitation outfit with the afro and gold lame pantsuit.

Kellie and Derek - OMG what was that skanky neglige that Anna was wearing? It was totally see-thru! I didn't like Kellie tonight. Derek's choreography was first rate (as always) but there was something missing with Kellie ... a lack of fire. Like she was on Fox Trot autopilot.

DL and Cheryl - "The tango is like "(testicles) in" ... the man's dance" Poor DL just stomped around too much. Poor Cheryl.

Zandaya and V-V-Val - With M-M-Maks! O-M-G that was SOOOO good!!! Even Anna was good . I loved the story they told! The only minor negative is that I thought her legs were a little awkwardly "coltish".

Andy and Sharna - I think he did fine with the professional couple, but the rest of the dance was a disaster! An entertaining disaster, but still a disaster. "More Pasadena than Pasodoble" *snork*

I was so surprised to see Maks and Karina dancing together in the beginning and then again in her dance with Jacoby.

I guess the bad blood is gone, glad they moved past it.

There was a time they wouldn't even look at each other.

Does anyone know if he is still dating Petra?

I love Maks, hopefully he will come back.

Anna's white see thru dress???? She loves to be center of attention, makes me ill.

You're right about the boxer. I have Ingo, DL, and Andy as my bottom three, but I was torn between Ingo and Victor as my final choice.

I'll hate to see Andy go home if it's him. I'd much rather see DL go.

Andy is doing so well with his sobriety and he seems to be putting in the practice to improve, he deserves to stay a bit longer.

DL doesn't even seem to try. He was just clunky and walking thru the dance last night.

They have been surprisingly accurate, even with all the alternative ways of voting. While it is no surprise to see DL at the bottom, I am surprised to see Sean ahead of Ingo. Really, the order is pretty much what I would think, the two most talented girls on top, Jacoby close behind and the rest behind. I am fairly sure those are the top three. I thought Zendaya was stunning and Kellie very good. Jacoby is fun to watch and his charm covers mistakes (IMHO).

I was happy with how Jacoby did, I was worried with him dancing beside Maks- but thought he kept up well. Loved that jump, I was like WTH!!!! LOL Also loved Zandaya.

Due to the non-stop coverage of the Boston Marathon tragedy, our tv stations did not show any regular programs. Is last night's DWTS available anywhere online? Thanks.

Tom Bergeron is actually from Haverhill, MA, not far from Boston. He did mention on the show that he did broadcasting or something like that for many years in Boston. Just as the show was ending and he said how much he loves Boston& was thinking of all of you, you can really see his emotion about that city hitting him.


I don't know abut anyone else, but I NEEDED to see some fluff last night after being glued to CNN since I got home. I had no idea anything had happened. I tagged along with my makeup artist friend to the Beauty Tradeshow here. Surprisingly, no one at the tradeshow ever mentioned the Marathon. People were too busy selling or shopping and the news hadn't made it's way around the event.

I didn't even think it was odd when I got off the bus later and saw lots of police on the sidewalks, as beefed up security has unfortunately become such a regular occurrence here now. Then I was in shock for a couple hours watching CNN. When the shock wore off, I needed to watch fluff to stop crying.

The show was on METV last night - channel 306 if you have Comcast. Channel 4 shows were on channel 38. Have to wait and see what happens tonight for the results show. The scroll at the bottom of the screen listed the different numbers for different providers.

I needed a break, too. I'm a news junkie and was inundated with it. After awhile they were just saying the same things over and over and showing the same tapes over and over. It's my nature to want to know the culprit so it was driving me nuts!

I watch the Voice on Monday and Tuesday so DWTS gets pushed to the side. I find out what happened by reading this thread so THANKS!

....but what was the deal with him making those stupid faces behind Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas??!?!? Especially when she was dedicating her performance to the Boston victims.... What are we....TWELVE??

Just finished watching last nights show, and I have to say I feel bad for both Andy Dick and DL Hughly. I think both have improved greatly, but neither are ever going to be great. It is too bad that they are scored by comparing against others, and not according to the improvements they have made. When up against dancers like Zandia (sp?) or Kellie (who is a natural) they are always going to lack.

Having said that, I really did enjoy watching both Zandia and Kellie. And Allie is showing great improvement as well. The women seem to be doing really well this year. I think the only guy who has a chance is Jacoby, who is just a blast to watch. I am looking forward to the team dances, if they have them this year. Would love to see Jacoby and Zandia dance together!

Maybe he didn't know Aly was from Boston area and thought that she was just playing the "Patriot card"? I don't recall if she said she was from Boston, until the very end of her dedication. Or that Brooke mentioned it for her.

Like when Tom mentioned it early in the show, I thought that was just standard stuff. It's a live show, of course, they would (should) mention their thoughts and prayers are with the event. It would be polite standard operation procedure. Even when Tom mentioned he had worked in Boston for quite some time, I thought it was a standard line. It wasn't until he said again at the end how much he loves Boston and I caught the look of real emotion, then looked up where he was born & found he really is from the Boston area, and not just exaggerating to make him, the show & ABC look good, that I got, he really meant what he said.
