Possible. And why he did quit or resign or what ever is that maybe a producer wanted it to play out this way. I could see him doing his 2 dances and before the voting say sorry I have to leave but again maybe they din't like how that would play out.

It’s hard for me to imagine that more people were voting for Lauren with creepy Gleb over James and Emma. Maybe Sean’s voters moved on to her.

I really hope James asked to leave. I also wish that they would stop shoving Ally down our throats. Let’s go team Kel!

Doesn’t she also have Bobby Bones’ listeners in her corner? It would really suck If that group picked two winners in a row.

There is no way ally has done better than James this season and their votes are supposed to take into account the whole season. If he asked to leave abc should’ve handled it differently cause this just annoying viewers and obviously no one is voting for princess ally!

This is what I was thinking. Tom even says how the judges should take in all the dances over the season, not just the ones done that night. No way should Ally have been kept while James is off. For judges who complained so much about Sean Spicer being kept, how were they ok keeping Ally over James?

I saw an article online that says James’ wife was due in April and she said she’s not ready to go into details but that she almost died as well. Shows a lot of strength that he even got through his dances, I don’t know how he managed.

Does that mean that James and Ally were NOT both in the "bottom two"? I'm confused.

I think he meant that of the 4 couples picked to go to the finals, they were chosen in no particular order.

It's also interesting that when Ally said she wanted to give up her spot for James that Tom already had an answer. No one has ever tried giving up their spot before for another in the 28 seasons. Maybe he knew that James wanted to go?

OR, I'd like to think, Spicer wanted to give up his spot at one time and the producers told him no. So, Tom already knew that wasn't allowed.

A little trivia about Spicer from TMZ: right after Spicer was given the boot, the person who had always tweeted for everyone to vote for him, deleted his tweet.

I like Lauren, Gleb just gives me the creeps for some reason.

I honestly think James is needed at home and I hope this wasn’t DWTS way of handling it.

I've been thinking, if James had stood there and forfeited going to the Finals to be home with his family, whomever does win, there will always be a lot of people who will say that person didn't deserve the win. That had James stayed, he would have won. (And yes, maybe he would have, had life circumstances been different.)

That's so unfair to the winner. Especially if they dance in the DWTS Tour. They'll know people in the audience are thinking that about them.

But, since the judges gave him such bad scores TWICE and the audience supposedly might not have given him enough votes, then the winner now can go on to win fairly and be proud about it. And they can dance in the DWTS Tour as the undisputed winner.

@Imzadi - true, there probably isn't any good way that it could have gone down. Just makes me mad that he got 8's on his first dance when I've seen utter garbage get 8's.

So disappointed James went home, and so sad for him and his family.

I’ll be the dissenting voice here, and say I like Ally. I think she does a great job. I think the bottom two should’ve been Hannah and Lauren, with either one going home.

Kel has been my favorite all along, though, so I hope he wins.
